Abstract

This research aims to analyze students"™ learning activities in implementing the inquiry training learning model in grade X. The physics lesson material taken in this research is linear motion. SMAN Percut Sei Tuan is the location where the research was carried out. The samples in this study were two classes: grade X-9 which uses inquiry training model and X-5 which uses direct instruction model. The type of this research is quasi experiment. The observation sheet was used as an instrument in this research. The data in this research were analyzed using the independent sample t test to find out the differences in student learning activities using the inquiry training model and the direct instruction model. Student learning activities are observed during learning activities by an observer. The average of student learning activity in class X-9 is 80 and class X-5 is 71. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the sign value 0,05. So it can be concluded that there are differences in student learning activities using the inquiry training model and the direct instruction model.

Abstract

The limited accessibility of digital educational game resources on the topic of viruses in the public domain poses a significant challenge that must be addressed. The primary objective of this research is to determine the validity of the RPG maker MV based game, followed by an assessment of its practicality. The research used Lee Owens as the development model. The result of this study is the produced RPG maker MV-based game, focused on virus material. The validity of the game has been confirmed through product validation conducted by experts in the discipline, achieving an average percentage of 96.63% (highly valid) from material experts, 93.07% (highly valid) from media experts, and 80.71% (valid) from biology teacher practitioners. The practicality of the RPG maker MV-based game was then demonstrated by small-scale trials, yielding an average performance rate of 93% (an exceedingly captivating product), and large-scale trials, yielding an average performance rate of 94.3% (an exceedingly captivating product).

Abstract

Cognitive assessment of kids who still frequently use paper documents and certain school-provided software. The objective of this study is to develop a legitimate, dependable, efficient, and useful tool that may be used to teach static electricity concepts through wordwalls. This study use the ADDIE model in conjunction with the Research and Development technique. Purposive sampling is the sampling strategy used, taking into account samples that have finished the science learning material on static electricity. There were 57 individuals in the sample. The SMP 42 Negeri in Semarang City is the research location. Using SPSS software version 2019 and Ministep, the data analysis technique involves testing the validity, reliability, efficacy, and practicality of test instruments and questionnaires. The study's findings demonstrate that the creation of a wordwall-based cognitive instrument on static electricity learning outcomes is valid, dependable (having received an adequate category score of 0.74), successfully executed (having received an average score of 74.8), and practically implemented (producing 66.4% of the responses from students). This means that future researchers can build on this tool to suit their needs and the reference tools that are used to assess learning.

Abstract

Sitophilus oryzae or rice weevil is a primary pest of rice that is very detrimental. Pest control that is usually carried out is fumigation using phosphine gas and fumigation using methyl bromide. The use of insecticides has several negative impacts on humans and the environment, so it is necessary to control pests naturally, namely using citronella essential oil. Citronella essential oil contains high levels of citronella and geraniol compounds and these compounds are contact toxic and antifeedant against insects. This research aims to determine the effect of citronella essential oil on mortality using the fumigation method and the response of rice lice to citronella essential oil in the flourdisc bioassay test. This research was carried out at the insect pest control and biodetriosation and formulation laboratory, using a completely randomized plan. The results showed that citronella oil was classified as effective in controlling the population of S. oryzae with a mortality of 41% using fumigation method and had anti-feedant properties compared to the control in the flour disk assay test. In the flourdisc bioassay method, the percentage of 2 gr/L influences the low relative growth rate, relative consumption rate and conversion efficiency of consumed food and the food prevention index continues to increase. Citronella essential oil has potential and effectiveness as a control for the warehouse pest rice weevil (Sitophilus oryzae).

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that problem solving is a basic ability that every student must have. However, observations in the field show that students' mathematical problem-solving skills, especially in the material of algebraic form operations, are still relatively low. This study aims to describe students' mathematical problem-solving skills based on Polya's theory, which consists of four stages: (1) understanding the problem, (2) planning problem solving, (3) implementing the plan, and (4) re-examining the results. This study involved 26 ninth grade students as subjects. The method used was descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques including tests, interviews, and documentation, data analysis conducted based on four levels of problem-solving ability: excellent, good, sufficient, and deficient. The results showed that students' mathematical problem-solving ability on algebraic form operation material obtained as a whole was still relatively low with a scale of 42%. The implications of these findings indicate the need for the alication of more varied and contextualized teaching strategies to improve students' problem-solving skills. This research can be the basis for teachers in providing further assistance to students who are experiencing difficulties, focusing on improving skills in understanding and solving mathematical problems as a whole.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the feasibility of developing a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) based e-mdoul on circular motion material to train Bengkulu City High School students' critical thinking skills. This research method uses RD research with the ADDIE type. The instruments used were interviews, observations and needs analysis questionnaires. The results obtained were 81.07% with the category of strongly agreeing with the development of e-modules. The design of e-module learning media will be developed according to what has been prepared. At the development stage, the instrument used was an expert validation sheet with an average percentage of 87.42% categorized as very suitable for use. At the implementation stage, the instrument used was a student perception questionnaire with a percentage of 83.19% categorized as very good. Thus, it can be concluded that the development of e-module learning media based on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) on circular motion material to train students' critical thinking skills is a very viable product.

Abstract

Numeracy literacy is a very important skill in the 21st century. However, the numeracy literacy rate in Indonesia is still low, this can be seen from the results of the PISA test and various observational studies in schools. One way to overcome this problem is by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The aim of this research is to determine the improvement numeracy literacy through the PBL model. The research method used is meta analysis with a sequence of preparation, implementation and analysis stages. The analyzed articles were 10 articles, with the criteria of each article discussing the PBL model for numeracy literacy, and there was information about the mean and standard deviation. The results obtained are that students' numeracy literacy through the PBL model has increased, where . It was concluded that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test literacy numeracy scores before and after the PBL model. The average pre-test and post-test scores are 62.54 and 77.92 respectively, numeracy literacy in the post-test is higher than in the pre-test, so it can be concluded that the PBL model can increase students' numeracy literacy. The articles analyzed have similarities and differences in results and views because many aspects are applied. There were 2 different studies found, both of which received an Effect Size (ES) value of 0.09 and were categorized as small, so further research related to PBL on numeracy literacy, especially at the elementary school level, considering that in this meta analysis only used 1 data with the elementary school level whose results were not significant.
