Focus and Scope Jurnal Riset Manajemen dan Bisnis (p-ISSN: 1907-7343; e-ISSN: 2714-7312) adalah jurnal yang dipublikasikan oleh Fakultas Bisnis Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana yang terbit dua kali setahun (Juli dan Desember). Jurnal ini didedikasikan sebagai sarana untuk berbagi dan diseminasi studi-studi terbaru dari para peneliti manajemen dan bisnis. Abstract

Statistically, the number of women who works outside household is getting increase. As a part of worfforce, woman not only takes a position as general employee but they are also employed as a manager. It indicates that woman plays an important role in organization. In other words it can be said that the globol labor force has changed. Change in labor force involved an aging worfforce and a diverse worffirce. Furthermore diversity exists within labor force. As a result organizations cannot afford to ignore or discount the potential contributions of wornen. At the same time work opportunity for women is also more available. Women, howqer find dfficulties that hinder them in pursuing a success in career. This hindrances result fro* the social and culture concept that the nature of a woman is a houssvyife. In fact women who hold a dual career hme a more responsibility either to their emplolters or to their household. Being a dual career people, women show a high work motivation and good performance. This paper examines the affecting factorson wornen coreer in term of sex discrimination that is discrimination on grounds of gender. Abstract

The aim of this research is to exornine the moderating effect of switching cost on the relationship between customer satisfaction"ia-ioyaiy. The reiearch object is 150 customers who use mobile phone Sim Card in Yogtakarta. The result shows that the moderating effect of switching cost on the relationship between satisfaction and loyatty is not supported. However the ffict ;f customer satisfaction on loyalty persists with or without the switching cost.Keywords: Switching Cost, Customer Satisfaction, Customer Loyalty

Abstract

Bid ask spread is afunction of three components which are; order processing, inventory holding, and informational asymmetry. Although holding cost and infurmational asymmetry can not be directly obsertted and needs a specific measurement, these two costs are interesting to be examined. The present paper aims to observe empirical evidences about the relationship between trade and return as a holding cost meaurernent for bid-ask spread. The samples are drawn -fro* companies listed on Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSE and included in rneasurement factors of ILQ-45 fro* January 2004 until December 2004. Using Error Correction Model (ECM), the result shows that the relationship between a trade volume series, return, and bid-ask spread are not either relatively or absolutely having a long-term equilibrium.Keywords : Bid-ask spread, return, statianary, co-integration.

Abstract

The tight global competition had enforced marketers to focus on brand loyalty, so as to reduce brand switching. Therefore, studies focus on customer loyalty; customer purchasing power and customer satisfaction are growing rapidly.The objective of this research was to provide empirical evidence obout the effects of customer involvement, difference of brand perception, hedonism characteristic and variation seeker on brand switching decision both partially and simultaneously. Using the multiple regression analysis, the results showthat customer involvement, difference of brand perception and variation seeker partially has significant effect on brand switching decision. However, hedonism characteristic has insignificant effect on brand switching decision.The result also shows that customer involvement, dffirence of brand perception, hedonism characteristic and variation seeker simultaneously has significant effect on brand switching decision.Keywords: brand loyalty, customer involvement, difference of brand perception, hedonism charact eris tic, v ariation s eeker, brand switching decision

Abstract

This research qamines the effect of agenqt problem and inside shareholder on company's diversification poliqt. It is also intent to etcamine the effect of diversification on firm value and the ffict of inside shareholder on agency problern. The inside shareholder will be divided into two categories which are:managerial owhership and stock held by the company subsidiaries. The Herfindahl Index will be used to measure the lertel of diuersiJication, whilst the agency problem will be measured using the ratio of selling and general administrative cost. Moreover, the existence of compalry eJccess value derivefro* the company's diversification will be used to identify the firm value. Using the purposive random sampling method, the total sample drawn fro*.The Jakarta Stock Exchange fro* 2002 to 2005 are 160 companies with the accdption for companies within the financial sectors. Using multiple linear regression, the result shows positive and significant effect of agency problem on company's diversification policy. On the contrary, the result fail to demonstrate the ffict of diversification on firm value as well as the effect of inside shareholders on both agenq) problem and diversification.
