Abstract

This study evaluates the influence of the Fraud Pentagon elements—pressure, opportunity, rationalization, capability, and arrogance—on the detection of financial statement fraud in State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2017-2019. Utilizing a quantitative methodology, data was collected from documents and literature studies and analyzed through logistic regression. The findings reveal that financial stability measured by the M-Score and F-Score models is significantly impacted by pressure, whereas opportunity affects fraud detection when using the M-Score model, and arrogance is significant with the F-Score model. However, no significant effects were observed for opportunity with the F-Score, rationalization with both models, capability with both models, and arrogance with the M-Score. These results underscore the variable influence of different fraud elements on the detectability of fraudulent activities, suggesting a need for targeted anti-fraud strategies within SOEs. Highlights: Pressure's Role: Pressure directly impacts financial fraud detection in SOEs. Model Variability: Opportunity and arrogance influence fraud detection differently across M-Score and F-Score models. Ineffective Elements: Several fraud elements show no significant impact, indicating gaps in detection methods. Keywords: Fraud Detection, Financial Statement Fraud, M-Score, F-Score, SOEs

Abstract

This study addresses inefficiencies in the warehouse layout of a paper production company in Pasuruan, East Java, which led to delayed deliveries. By implementing shared storage (SS) using FIFO and class-based storage (CBS), the research aimed to optimize space and improve material handling efficiency. Data collection involved observation, interviews, and company records. The proposed layout reduced space usage from 59.45% to 16.95% and achieved significant time savings: 17.84% for brown paper, 8.84% for white paper, and 28.51% for custom-colored paper. The findings suggest that a systematic layout can greatly enhance warehouse efficiency. Future studies should consider the cost factors associated with these improvements. Abstract

Efficient inventory management is crucial for companies to minimize costs while ensuring adequate supply to meet demand. PT Samawa Tirta Alam, a bottled sweet drinking water company, faces significant inventory management issues, notably with refined sugar raw materials. High transportation costs and fluctuating demand contribute to excessive inventory accumulation and increased storage costs, necessitating an optimization strategy. This study implements the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method to address these challenges. Through a mixed-method approach, qualitative data were gathered via observations and interviews, while quantitative analysis utilized historical data to calculate optimal order quantities, frequencies, safety stock levels, and reorder points. Results demonstrate substantial cost savings, with optimal order quantities determined, reducing order frequencies from 12 to 2 times per year, and minimizing safety stock levels. The findings underscore the effectiveness of the EOQ method in enhancing cost-effectiveness and operational performance in raw material inventory management for similar companies. Highlights: 1. Cost Efficiency: EOQ method reduces total inventory costs effectively.2. Operational Precision: Minimizing safety stock enhances operational efficiency.3. Strategic Insight: Integrated approach provides practical solutions for inventory management challenges. Keywords: Inventory Management, Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Cost Optimization, Raw Materials, Transportation Costs

Abstract

The Orchidaceae family is highly valued in ornamental, perfume, medical, and cosmetic industries, but cultivation often fails due to human error. This research aims to design an IoT-integrated automation system to monitor and control key parameters such as air temperature, humidity, and moss moisture for orchid cultivation. Using the research and development method, we observed plant needs, reviewed relevant literature, designed an effective system, and tested sensor accuracy and system reliability. Results showed the DHT-22 sensor had a minimal error in temperature (0.9%) and humidity (2.1%) readings, and the soil moisture sensor had a 3.65% error. The system maintained optimal conditions, and the Blynk app effectively displayed data. This innovation reduces human error and enhances orchid cultivation efficiency, with potential applications in other sensitive plant systems. Highlight: Error Reduction: IoT system minimizes human error in orchid cultivation. Sensor Accuracy: DHT-22 sensors show minimal temperature (0.9%) and humidity (2.1%) errors. Optimal Conditions: Maintains air humidity 40%-80%RH and moss moisture 50%-80%RH. Keyword: Orchidaceae, IoT automation, sensor accuracy, environmental control, orchid cultivation
