Tasamuh dengan nomor registrasi ISSN 1829-6483 (Cetak) dan ISSN 2614-1736 (Online), merupakan jurnal peer-reviewed dan merupakan jurnal open access yang diterbitkan dua kali dalam setahun (Juni - Desember) oleh Fakultas Dakwah dan Komunikasi Studi, Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Mataram. Tasamuh merupakan laporan hasil penelitian bidang dakwah, politik, media komunikasi, model dakwah Islam. Tasamuh mengundang naskah-naskah tentang berbagai topik termasuk, namun tidak terbatas pada, dakwah, politik, strategi dan model dakwah, manajemen dakwah dan etika politik. Tasamuh bekerjasama dengan Asosiasi Profesi DAKWAH INDONESIA (APDI), Asosiasi Pengelola JURNAL ILMU DAKWAH (PPJID). Tujuan Tasamuh: Jurnal Komunikasi Islam dan Pengembangan Masyarakat adalah untuk mempromosikan diseminasi luas hasil-hasil penyelidikan ilmiah yang sistematis ke dalam bidang penelitian bisnis yang luas. Tasamuh dimaksudkan untuk menjadi jurnal penerbitan artikel yang melaporkan hasil penelitian tentang bisnis. Abstract

Islam insists that human beings are created as God’s caliph in the world. The definition of caliph as a substitute, functions as confirmation and responsibility to human beings to do their duties in the world. This is not only for men but also women. The messages of Al-Quran to human are like life lantern providing light and enlightening human life from the grief of darkness, but the messages are frequently distorted by various human interest. Supposing we say the issues related to gender usually become the problem of gender inequality, either male or female. The term ‘gender’ literally means sex distinguishing all aspects between male and female in terms of action, attitude, effort and activity. Indeed, Islam truly defies against the discrimination in all aspects including discrimination to female because the main purpose of Islam come to against all form of discrimination, especially to woman. Islam is as guidance to all human being without any difference between man and woman. The current discrimination to woman should be omitted because man and woman complete each other as the manifestation of God’s creation in the world.

Abstract

Many people misinterpret the democracy, and most of them also have not yet understood thoroughly what the democracy is. It is not doubtful many people rise up against, argue and want to replace the system of democracy with a particular government system. Whereas if it investigated more deeply, negative jargons issued by activists like capitalism, ocialism, democracy, materialism, liberalism, and secular, are the struggling process, a series of bloody history for socio-historical change, freedom from the restraint of patrimonial culture in the darkness era of Europe. This paper attempt to offer ideas that might berelevant to answer the challenge of social change in the future. Nationalism theory Elnest Gellner explains the process in realizing the ideal nation state, without tendency of ethnic, race, religion discrimination (SARA). His idea influenced by Max Weber, Durkheim, Karl max adopted the process and description of society change manifested from nomadic life, farming (low education),until industrial society with capitalism in the western Europe.

Abstract

Social works and philantropi are two thing that have substantive meaning. The development of philantropy has been existed in the classical as well as modern era. In the era of Islamic government, especially Umayyah dynasty, Daulah Abbasiyah, and Turki Usmani philantropy has been arranged variously, and it differs from previous Islamic government: however, substantially they have same form and complementary relationship. At this moment the form of philantropy is the same with the previous era, but it has difference in terms of the management of activities; in which the managerial activities are well-organized. Based on the philantorpic activities during the Islamic golden era, it might have implication to the study of modern social work since it is historically grounded on philantropic activities. Actually, the concept of Islamic philantropy is based on Al-Quran about the essence of human as a servant and God’s servant in the world. Generally, the historical backgrounds of social works in the Western and Islamic context are the same because the notion of social works in the sense of charity derives from either the concept of philantropic church and cultural order. Meanwhile, in earlier era of Islam under the Prophet Muhammad S.AW, the philantropy has been perfectly practiced until now. The difference is the Western people commence to use the concept established based on modern science.

Abstract

Family is the main environment for children to make social interaction. The family has the most important role in building children’s personality. In the family environment, a child will learn knowledge system of norms accepted and recognized by society. Even in education, family should direct their children to get good education since every citizen has right to have education as good as possible. Furthermore, formal education is understood as an education, in which the children are taught to write, read, and count. The school is also good place for educating children and developing their talents. On the other hand, informal education is one obtained since they were born or they are in childhood. This informal education is about religion, moral, ethic, behavior, discipline, honesty, self-reliance and responsibility. The poverty of family is not barrier to get education. For rag picker family, formal education is one based on curriculum, having structure that is taken process through socialization of education in the school. Otherwise, informal education is related to other social regulation such as religion, economy, ethic and family.

Abstract

Human rights were declared by United Nation in 1948. Human rights become a reference for international world and influence all aspect relations and contemporarily-international law. However, interpretation and implementation of human rights in national scope are not as smooth as its acceptance. Collision between culture and local law and universal human rights cannot be avoided. Islamic law is the product of Syariah that is applied in all over Muslim countries in which they are also United Nation member. Is there a collision between international law of human rights and Islamic law, then how to solve it. This is a statement that has to be answered thoroughly in those both perspectives. Dialogical approach gives the most satisfactory solution. Through the doctrine of marginal appreciation in one side and benefit in another side, both are entrance for other cases for opening dialogues in order to achieve collective understanding about human rights. The positive effect for Islamic law is Fiqih that is like to regain its spirit and the benefit is not merely jargons.

Abstract

The improvement of public services is one of homework for Indonesia that has not finished yet. Since the movement of reformation succeeds to remove the new regime, many policies have been produced by the government of reform era in increasing public services. However, such policies do not create satisfactory and enjoying public services. In many cases, citizens and their interest could not be the main concern. Even put aside from public service orientation. Ethic for public service is one of aspects of public services that is far from what the society expect. The attitude of public service officers who are not responsive, accommodative, ransparent, emphatic and friendly is ethic phenomena of public services. Such phenomena still can be seen from the way territory guardian when they interact with society in a given service process. But actually, the ethic of public services is an indicator of public service quality, especially in terms of services.
