Abstract

The availability of abundant natural materials in Indonesia strongly supports the development of textile products, one of which is natural coloring which can be obtained from natural materials such as teak leaves. Teak leaves contain natural anthocyanin pigments that can be used as environmentally friendly textile dyes. Transfer of pigment to the fabric can be done using the ecoprint technique, which requires a mordant for the color binding process to prevent it from being easily separated from the fabric. The purpose of the research to determine the color expression of teak leaf ecoprints with mordant alum, tunjung and calcium dioxide on primissima cotton fabric and to determine the effect of variations in boiling time during mordanting on the color expression of teak leaf ecoprints. The research was carried out experimentally using the ecoprint steam technique to transfer colors and motifs into the fabric. This study used three types of mordant substances, there are: alum, tunjung and calcium dioxide with each concentration of 50g/l with variations in boiling time for mordanting: 20 minutes, 40 minutes and 60 minutes and three replications in each treatment. The ecoprint technique applied is steaming for 80 minutes. The results showed that the color expression produced by the alum mordant was dominated by yellow, the color produced from the tunjung mordant was dominated by black and the dye produced by quicklime was dominated by brown. The natural motif of teak leaves can be printed well on primissima cotton. The variation of boiling time during mordanting in this study did not produce differences in color expression because there was no variation in the concentration of the mordant substance.

Abstract

Indonesia was known as a mega-biodiversity country, one of it were identified as high biodiversity of orchids. One of the very popular orchids is the moon orchid (Phalaenopsis). The phenotypic character of various Phalaenopsis orchids, both species and hybrids, is important to be studied. The purpose of this research was to determine the phenotypic variation in hybrid moon orchids. There are fifteen hybrid orchids that have identified both in flower morphology and labellum. The results showed that there were differences in several qualitative characters: the shape of the sepals, the arrangement of the petals, the shape of the tip of the sepals, the shape of the tip of the petals, the shape of the side pieces and the cuvature of the side pieces. In Phalaenopsis hybrids also found differences in the size of the tentacles position in the labellum. Phalaenopsis has a very wide variety of colors and patterns. Phalaenopsis with the dominant purple flower color found at PH 06, the dominant flower color is pink at PH 01 and PH 09, the dominant flower color is yellow at PH 13 and PH 14, the dominant flower color is white at PH 02, PH 07 and PH 10. PH 03 , PH 04, PH 05, PH 08, PH 12 PH 14, and PH 15 have an even color dominance. As for the color of the labellum itself, the majority of colors and patterns that dominate the labellum are purple, pink, yellow and white.

Abstract

Bananas are the leading fruit commodity with the highest production in Indonesia. Apart from the taste that bananas like, it has excellent nutritional content for humans. One of the varieties of bananas that are often consumed is the kepok banana. Because it is included in the climacteric fruit, kepok bananas undergo a ripening and ripening process after being harvested, this makes their storage period short. Postharvest handling for fruit commodities that is often encountered is cold storage. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of storage temperature on the quality of the physical parameters of kepok bananas, namely total dissolved solids, weight loss, and hardness during the storage period. The study was designed by storing bananas for twelve days at three different temperatures, namely 15oC, 20oC, and 28oC (room temperature). Storage room temperatures of 15oC and 20oC are carried out in cold storage, while temperatures of 28oC are carried out in room temperature. Storage was carried out for 12 days, by measuring the physical quality of kepok bananas, namely TPT (Total Dissolved Solids) using a refractometer, Weight Loss using digital scales, and Hardness using a pressure test tool on days 3, 6, 9, and 12. The results showed that the storage temperature of 15oC made the rate of change of physical parameters in kepok bananas slower than other temperatures. At the same time, the storage temperature of 28oC made the rate of change of physical parameters in kepok bananas the fastest compared to different temperatures.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the business feasibility and sales prospects of mahogany furniture in terms of the R/C ratio of furniture craftsmen in Wringinpitu Village, Jombang Regency. The location of this research was carried out purposively (purposive sampling) and was carried out from February to March 2022. The data collection technique used in data collection was primary data sourced from direct interviews with mahogany furniture craftsmen using a questionnaire. Data analysis used in this study is the analysis of costs, revenues, revenues, and the ratio of R/C. The results of sales in Wringinpitu Village in 2021 within a year average Rp. 129,825,000, every month the income of craftsmen has increased and decreased due to a decrease in the amount of raw materials, and a decrease in consumer purchasing power for furniture. The results of the analysis show that the total income from the prospect of selling mahogany furniture in Wringinpitu Village within one year is an average of Rp. 41,671,045. This shows that the mahogany furniture craft business in 2021 is good enough to run. The results of the feasibility analysis of the R/C/Ratio show that the prospect of selling mahogany furniture in Wringinpitu Village is 1.5, the result of the R/C ratio shows that it is feasible to work on. This can be seen from the total revenue with a total cost that is greater than one, which is 1.5 ˃ 1. The B/C Ratio analysis shows that the sales prospects for mahogany furniture are 0.5, the value of the B/C Ratio shows that < 1 then the business is not feasible to develop.

Abstract

Golden snail is a snail which is commonly found in rice fields which can cause damage to rice plants. The golden snail is known as a pest of rice plants because it can damage thousands of hectares of rice seedlings at an early age in a short period of time but will be beneficial if it is managed as a microorganism. Local microorganisms are microorganisms used as starters in the manufacture of solid organic fertilizers and liquid fertilizers as well as fast growing decomposers in agricultural systems. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of local microorganisms in producing bioactivators from various amounts of different ingredients in the golden snail. This research was conducted in four locations, namely the Agronomy Laboratory of the Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic (manufacturing bioactivators), the Production Laboratory of the Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic (composting), and at Sucopindo (nutrient analysis). This research used three treatments including golden snail bioactivator I (A1), golden snail bioactivator II (A2), and golden snail bioactivator III (A3). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that treatment A3 (Keong Mas III Bioactivator) gave the best results for the parameters of temperature, color, odor and C-organic local microorganism (MOL) for the golden snail, while treatment A1 (Bioactivator Keong Mas I) gave the best results for the parameters Ph.
