Cakrawala: Jurnal Ilmu Pendidikan (P-ISSN:1858-4497, E-ISSN: 2549-9300) is a scholarly journal aimed to provide a platform for both established and early-career researchers. This journal accepts research-based papers from the fields of Teaching and Learning; Language and Literacy Education; and Applied Human Development in the Context of Schooling with submissions accepted throughout the year. It is published biannually, May and November, by Universitas Pancasakti Tegal, Indonesia. Papers are all subject to peer review before being accepted for inclusion. Contributions for future editions are welcome. Starting from Vol. 12 No. 1, Cakrawala has been accredited SINTA 3 by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Ristekdikti) of The Republic of Indonesia based on Director Decree No. 23/E/KPT/2019 dated 08 Agustus 2019. The Decree is as an achievement for the Peer-reviewed journal which has excellent quality in management and publication and is effective for 5 years until 2023.

Abstract

The aimed of this research was to develop teacher’s competency in implementing jigsaw method. The participants of the research were teachers of third and fourth grade of SD Negeri Purwahamba 01 UPTD Dikbud Suradadi sub-district of Tegal regency. The data collection techniques were comprehension test and learning observation. The training was done through two cycles which each cycle consisted of three meetings. The results indicated the skill of implementing method was raised 16.93 point or 24.51% from 69.05 in cycle I and raised to 85.98 in cycle II. The training of comprehension concept was raised from cycle I to II 19.98 point or 31.54%, and it was 63.35 from cycle I and 83.33 in cycle II from success indicator 75.00. Abstract

This study departs from the reality in SMP Negeri 1 Pangkah, at the beginning of the even semester of the Lesson Year 2016/2017 the results of learning IPS Class VIII H has not achieved the expected results due to low student learning outcomes in the subjects of social studies shown by the fact the lack of student learning activities in following the process IPS teaching and learning activities in the classroom. From the results of data analysis, stated: 1). Initial conditions, that the classical absorption that is the result of learning of all students only reaches 43.33% means it is under the provisions that have been set at 75% (ideal conditions). 2). In Cycle 1, that classical absorption reaches 66.67% which means still under the completeness of the class. 3). In Cycle 2, that the classical absorption reaches 83.33% is above the completeness of the class that has been determined

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe how the process and role of character education at Pancasakti University Tegal. Data obtained by observation and in-depth interview to a number of lecturers, employees, students of character education players in a limited lane at the University of Pancasakti Tegal. These data sources are not randomly selected, but are determined on people who are considered to know a lot about the issues under study. Data processing runs simultaneously with data collection, as well as through triangulation process to obtain the provision of data that has been tested. The results of the study provide an illustration that the implementation of character education at Pancasakti Tegal University runs through various units, namely the Personality Development Unit, the Student Activity Unit and the Kerokhanian unit. Each has been running well, but the three units need to be synergized and continuously improved. The implication of this research is that the group of character education improvement at Pancasakti University must be comprehensively upgraded and continuously improved so that the result can really be useful.
