Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the method SQ4R(Survey, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) in learning to understand thetext feature class VII SMP Negeri 1 Sidikalang many as 253 people. Samplestaken as many as 74 people from the two classes, class of 37 people to 37 peoplefor the experiment and the control class.The method used in this study is an experimental method, which is todetermine the effectiveness of the teaching methods used. Data collection tool wasa written test in the form of multiple choices (multiple-choice).Learning outcomes using SQ4R (Survey, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite,Review) is in both categories with an average value of 72.97. When compared tolearning by teaching methods directly in the category of simply average value of55.10.Analysis of data management in this study using the test "t". Furthermore,the hypothesis derived from the test calculations thitung = 3.37 and TTable at 5%significance level = 1.67 and at 1% significance level = 2.39, with db = 74-2 = 72,used db closest to 72 . Hypothesis is accepted if to> TTable (1.67 <3.37> 2.39).Thus, the hypothesis is accepted. It states that the method SQ4R (Survey,Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) is more effective to apply in learning tounderstand the text feature class VII SMP Negeri 1 Sidikalang learning year2012/2013.Keywords: Method SQ4R, text features

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the level of mastery of diction, illustrating the ability to write essays arguing and explaining relationships diction mastery of the ability to write essays siswa.Penelitian argument was held in SMA Negeri 1 Berastagi. Sample as many as 40 students, which is taken Random Sampling (Random) from 9 class X, and was elected class X-1 as an object of research.Before testing the hypothesis, first performed followed by descriptive data and test requirements analysis, test for normality and linearity test. To test the hypothesis used formula product moment correlation significance level of 5%.From the description of the data obtained diction skills class X SMA Negeri 1 Berastagi learning year 2012/2013, quite well with the average value of 75.625 and a standard deviation of 7.18 and an argument essay writing skills of students is also quite good with an average value of 71.625 and a standard deviation of 7.02. The correlation coefficient menunjukkanrhitung> rtabel or 0.663> 0.312 so it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between mastery of diction on the ability to write an argument essay in class X SMA Negeri 1 Berastagi Learning Year 2012/2013. Linearity test results indicate that the relationship between Mastery Ability Test Diction for Writing Argumentation Writing ability is linear regression equation: Y = 22.624 + 0.648 X and Fhitung = 0.715> F table = 2.30.Thus the higher ability students mastery of diction, the higher the student's ability to write an argument essay.keyword, mastery of diction is associated with writing arguments.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan pengaruh model pembelajaran sinektik terhadap kemampuan siswa menulis karangan deskripsi. Populasi seluruh siswa kelas X MAS Hidayatul Islam BP Mandoge, Asahan Tahun Pembelajaran 2012/2013 berjumlah 102 orang dari 3 kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak menggunakan teknik (Clustering Sampling) untuk menetapkan kelas yang akan dijadikan sampel dilakukan secara random. Instrument untuk menyaring data adalah tes essay dengan metode eksperimen semu rumus uji “t”. Dari pengolahan data diperoleh nilai rata-rata pre-test = 64,06, standar deviasi = 8,43, dan termasuk kategori baik sebanyak 9 siswa atau 30%, kategori cukup sebanyak 18 siswa atau 60%, kategori kurang sebanyak 3 siswa atau 10%, dan sangat kurang = 0%. Nilai rata-rata post-test = 81,57, standar deviasi = 7,07, dan termasuk kategori sangat baik sebanyak 11 siswa atau 36,67%, kategori baik sebanyak 17 siswa atau 56,67%, dan kategori cukup sebanyak 2 siswa atau 6,6%. Berdasarkan uji normalitas, hasil pre-test dan post-test distribusi normal. kemudian berdasarkan uji homogenitas dinyatakan sampel berasal dari populasi yang homogen maka diketahui sebesar 14,01. selanjutnya dikonsultasikan dengan tabel t pada taraf signifikansi 95% dengan dk= n-1, yakni 30-1=29 diperoleh taraf signifikan 95%= 1,70. Dengan demikian 14,011,70. Maka () ditolak () diterima. Disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh signifikan atas penerapan Model Pembelajaran Sinektik Terhadap Kemampuan Menulis Karangan Deskripsi Siswa Kelas X MAS Hidayatul Islam BP Mandoge, Asahan Tahun Pembelajaran 2012/2013. Abstract

This study aimed to describe the technique of site visits terhadap pengaruh writingabilities paragraf description of class X High School Private Lessons PrayatnaMedaan Year 2012/2013. This study population is all private school studentskelaas X Prayatna as many as 320 people. Samples were taken at random by 600rang, 30 0rang for experimental class and 30 for grade control.The instrument used was a test to write a paragraph description. The averagevalue of the experimental class was 75.6, while for the control class is 68.6Thus, it can be said that the average value of the ability to write a paragraphdescription of the experimental class higher than the control Kellas.Hypothesis testing is performed using test test "t". Test hypotheses derived fromcalculations thitung = 4.02, further consultation with the table at the significantlevel of 5% and 1% level of significance df = (N1 + N2) - 2 = 58. In the table twith df = 58 obtained TTable at 5% significance level = 2.00 and 1% significancelevel = 2.65. Testing criteria is rejected H0 if t0> tt. From the test resultsexplained that t0 (4.02)> tt (2.65). This means that Ho is rejected.So we can conclude that learning techniques visits more influential than theexpository technique to kemampuan students in writing a paragraph descriptionKeywords: Effects, Engineering field trips, writing paragraf description

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe the relationship between the metacognition ability and the descriptive paragraph writing ability. It was done with observation about the decreation of descriptive paragraph writing ability. In this case showed that many aspects which related with student’s ability because writing activity included cognitive, afective, and psychomotor. Metacognition is the aspect which can help the students to set the three aspects. The sample’s research was 60 students of X class SMA 2 Perbaungan academic year 2012/2013. The instrument used was the metacognition scale and descriptive paragraph objective test. The result of this research showed that metacognition was significantly associated with the descriptive paragraph writing ability. It showed with r value was 0,895 on significance value 5%. While t value was 15,27 (value > t table = 1,67). The result of determination index was 80,1%. It means that the percentage of metacognition relation with writing ability was 80,1%. This result showed there is significantly positive relation between metacognition with descriptive paragraph writing ability.Keywords: Metacognition, writing, descriptive paragraph, relationship.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the students’ ability to find the main ideas ofparagraph in writing of UAN by the ten Grades of students’ of SMA Satria NusantaraBinjai in Academic Year 2012/2013, which amounted to 200 students and that asample as many as 30 students. Sampling was done by determining the class to berepresentative of the population studied. The research method used was descriptivemethod which describe the phenomena of the real situation. The test was given bythe students through objective test which consists of 20 items. It consists ofdescriptive, narration, argumentation, persuasion, and exposition. To analyze thestudents’ ability to find the main idea, it was used the percentage as in the following.x 100%nfiPi The findings indicate that the students’ ability of ten Grade students of Senior HighSchool in Academic Year 2012/2013 to find the main ideas of paragraph in UAN wascategorized Good, where the means score of the students’ 70,33. From the 5 kinds ofwriting, descriptive writing was easy to be understood by the students. It was provedfrom 106 or 24.82% and the persuasion writing is more difficult for the students. Itwas proved 60 or 14,51%.Keywords: students’ ability, main ideas, paragraph.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectivity of conceptattainment model in learning to discover short stories’ intrinsicelements of the ninth grade students of SMP N 4 Tarutung, inacademic year 2012/2013. The population of this research was asmany as 120. The sample was taken randomly as many as 40students, 20 students for experimental class and 20 other studentsfor control class. The method of this research was the experimentalmethod. The instrument conducted was to discover intrinsicelements of short stories in post-test form. The average of theexperimental class was 75.25, while the average of control classwas 65.25. Hence, it can be said that the score in finding intrinsicelements of experimental class was higher than contol class’ score.Hypothesis testing was conducted by using ????????????????????, from thecalculation of hypothesis testing, it was found that the score of???????????????????????? was 4.61, furthermore it was consultated by table withsignifican level 5% = 1.68 and in level 1% = 2.42, with df level =(20+20) – 2 = 38. In table t with df level = 38, it was found that???????????????????????? in significan level the hypothesis was effective, because???????????????????????? <????????????????????????>???????????????????????? namely, (1.68<4.61>2.42) thus, thealternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of Accelerated Learning(Quick Learning) to paragraph narrative writing skills class X SMANegeri 10-year field study 2012/2013. The population of this studywere all students of class X SMA Negeri 10 field consists of 6classes with a student population of 242 people. Of the number ofstudents was drawn randomly sample 76 students. The method usedin this study is an experimental method to design research groupposttest only design (two groups) comparing two groups, theexperimental group were given learning to write narrativeparagraphs Accelerated Learning approach (Quick Learning) whilethe control group using Expository Teaching (Teaching indirectly)in learning to write narrative. The instrument used is a narrativeessay writing test. The average value of the experimental class was79.42 while the control class is 68.73. Thus it can be said that theaverage value of the test write narrative paragraphs in theexperimental class higher than the control class. Hypothesis testingis done by using the test "t". Test hypotheses derived fromcalculations thitung = 4.14, then consulted with TTable at the levelof 5% and 1% with dk = (N1 + N2) - 2 = (38 + 38) - 2 = 74, thenobtained acquired significance level of 5% = 2.00 and asignificance level of 1% = 2.65. After consultation, it was to theTTable obtained greater than the 2.00 <4.14> 2.65, then the nullhypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) isaccepted.Keywords: skill, writing paragraph narrative, ApproachesAccelerated Learning
