Abstract

Improving the quality of technology is very important where every country tries to innovate in the field of technology to improve the image of its nation. Indonesia as a country with a very large human traffic always tries to create new innovations in all aspects in related fields, especially in the aspect of information technology in the field of Immigration. This research is a qualitative research using interview and observation data collection techniques. The results showed that the digital technology of the Class II TPI Pare-Pare City Immigration Office in providing passport application services has been evident and has fulfilled the need to serve the community. This is answered by physical evidence or tangible evidence that currently has met service standards. The reliability provided by the TPI Regional Immigration Office II Pare-Pare in the form of the website www.Pare-Pare.imigration.go.id is good enough, not just a formality as a government agency engaged in immigration, it is also strived for by the apparatus so that people use services Immigration services find it easy to interact with officials so that positive perceptions such as confidence in the services provided by the Class II TPI Class II Immigration Office officers in Pare-Pare City as service providers can grow in the eyes of the community.

Abstract

This research sees that power is constructed through a discourse strategy based on Teun A. Van Dijk's discourse analysis. Through a qualitative descriptive method, this discourse analyzes the level of text, social cognition, and social film context. The subject of the research is the Sexy Killers film, with the object of research are scene that showed power. The results of the study found that power is constructed through the upper and lower classes of the film and the role of the narrator who tends to limit the audience's interpretation space. In text analysis, power is represented to discredit certain political elites. At the level of social cognition, this film is produced based on the documentary genre which is investigative and identically accommodates the voices of the lower class people who are rarely reported by the media. Meanwhile, at the social context level, the discourse that comes through the form of control is in a persuasive form, which has led to a social movement in the form of a review of the Sexy Killers film which was held in several cities in Indonesia. Based on the discourse presented in the film, implicitly forming a skeptical and cynical view of politicians or the government.

Abstract

The Omnibus Law first appeared in President Jokowi's speech during his inauguration on October 20, 2019. The omnibus law is a concept to form the main law to regulate issues previously regulated by a number of laws or one law that simultaneously revises several laws. This law is intended to streamline regulations in terms of numbers so that they are more targeted. Of course, the media are closely related to this news. The media are considered able to mediate this polemic. The media, in this situation, is needed to bring diverse ideas, especially people’s aspiration. This linkage is described in the Hierarchy of Influence Theory of Pamela J Shoemaker and Stephen D. Reese (Pamela J Shoemaker and Stephen D. Reese 1996). This theory explains the effect on the content of media coverage by internal and external influences. In connection with this writing, the existence of cyber media in Indonesia is also part of freedom of opinion, freedom of expression, and freedom of the press. One of them is the cyber media news site CNNIndonesia.com. The CNNIndonesia.com news site is owned by Trans Media. CNNIndonesia.com provides local and international content, with a focus on general news, business, sports, technology, and entertainment. CNNIndonesia.com was launched on 20 October 2014 with Yusuf Arifin as editor-in-chief. This paper focuses on the relationship between Pamela J Shoemaker and Stephen D. Reese's Hierarchical Influence Theory with the reporting of Omnibus Law on CNNIndonesia.com. The results of the analysis show that CNNIndonesia.com media has very little reporting on how the Omnibus Law endangers press freedom and journalistic work itself. This further confirms that online media (CNNIndonesia.com) does not have an agenda. Keyword: News, Schomacher and Reese Analysis

Abstract

Distance learning (PJJ) or online learning is becoming a new story in the life of parenting at home. The problem in the domestic realm regarding the role of parents is interesting to study based on the diversity of experiences of parents as a substitute for teachers at home. This study aims to describe the experiences of parents in implementing parenting during the online learning process during a pandemic. This type of research is qualitative with the phenomenological method. The number of informants was four mothers who have children in elementary school. The results showed that the communication patterns used by parents were democratic and autorative. Informants stated that children felt more comfortable going through the online learning process when parents applied open and two-way communication. All informants also performed their role as substitutes for teachers at home, facilitators, motivators and directors during the online learning process.

Abstract

This article aims to highlight denotation and conotation meaning of sign of dilarang berpacaran that is on Samarinda city parks.  City parks that is taken are public sphere, iconic, dan near from another public spaces.  Analysis of semiotics from Roland Barthes is used as method.  Datas taken through interview with city parks visitors, observations and secondary sources with results : 1) city parks as a form of ruang terbuka hijau (green open space) have two functions, ecology and social, 2) sign of dilarang berpacaran is normative semiotics and cultural semiotics.
