Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of online gaming on the mental health of adolescents in Dusun Umbul Rowo. The background of this study is based on the increasing use of online games among teenagers, which impacts various aspects of life, particularly mental health. The method used is a quantitative approach with a survey technique. The sample in this study consists of 32 adolescents aged 13–18 years, selected purposively. Data was collected through closed questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression tests. The results of the study indicate a significant influence between the intensity of online gaming and the mental health of adolescents, with a significance value of 0.002 (< 0.05). The longer the gaming duration, the greater the tendency for respondents to experience sleep disturbances, anxiety, and reduced social interaction. However, some respondents also reported emotional and cognitive benefits from gaming, such as decreased stress and improved focus. This research emphasizes the importance of monitoring online gaming usage and the need for education on mental health to prevent long-term negative impacts.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of digital platforms on Generation Z’s interest in almsgiving within the framework of Islamic values. Using a mixed methods approach with an explanatory sequential design, the research involved a survey of 60 respondents who had previously donated through digital means, followed by in-depth interviews with selected participants. The quantitative results reveal that perceived ease of use, accessibility, and trust in digital platforms significantly influence interest in digital almsgiving. Additionally, Islamic values such as religiosity, ibadah maliyah (financial worship), and the pursuit of barakah (divine blessing) play a central role in shaping intentions. Qualitative findings further show that emotional engagement, particularly empathy evoked by donation content and social encouragement from peers and influencers, enhances this interest. The study concludes that Generation Z’s participation in digital almsgiving is driven by a synergy of technological convenience, spiritual motivation, and emotional-social dynamics. These findings offer important implications for optimizing digital donation platforms and advancing Islamic digital almsgiving.

Abstract

This research aims to explore how local culture is used as a resource in the implementation of Islamic Religious Education at Quran Savaty Elementary School. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, this study reveals that the integration of local culture such as regional Islamic art, local wisdom values (siri' na pacce, sipakatau, and pangngaderreng), and religious activities with local nuances significantly strengthen the effectiveness of Islamic religious education. Programs such as tahfidz 30 juz, tahsinul qira'ah and recitation, educational outings, character building, love of mosques from an early age, and extracurricular activities are designed with a culturally based contextual approach. The results of the study show that this strategy succeeds in fostering students' love for the Qur'an and Islamic values, while strengthening their identity, spirituality, and connection to the socio-cultural environment. This learning model shows that Islamic education can develop inclusively, creatively, and still maintain noble local values.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of emotional intelligence on the ability to memorize the Qur'an in students at the Darul Aman Gombara Islamic Boarding School in Makassar. Based on the results of descriptive analysis and statistical tests, it was found that emotional intelligence has a significant influence on memorization ability. The average emotional intelligence score of 68.7 and memorization ability of 63.1 indicate that although the level of emotional intelligence of students is relatively good, their memorization ability is still below it. The regression analysis yielded a correlation coefficient value (R) of 0.474, indicating a moderate relationship between the two variables, and an R-Square value of 0.225 indicating a contribution of emotional intelligence of 22.5% to memorization ability. In addition, the ANOVA test results showed a significance of 0.000, which means the relationship between emotional intelligence and memorization ability is statistically significant. The calculated F-value of 15.345 also supports the validity of the regression model used. These findings confirm the importance of developing emotional aspects in the tahfidz learning process. Emotional coaching that includes emotional management, self-motivation, and spiritual resilience has been shown to contribute to successful Qur'an memorization. Thus, pesantren are expected not only to focus on the technical aspects of memorization, but also to integrate learning strategies that support the balance between students' cognitive and emotional abilities. This holistic approach is believed to be able to improve the quality of memorization more optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) plays a strategic role in shaping students’ Islamic understanding and Islamic character, particularly in integrated Islamic schools. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Islamic Religious Education program in developing students’ Islamic understanding at SMPIT As-Sunnah Makassar. The research employs a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with the school principal, IRE teachers, students, and parents, as well as document analysis. Data analysis was conducted inductively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation techniques used to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that the IRE program at SMPIT As-Sunnah Makassar is holistically designed by integrating the national curriculum and diniyyah curriculum, and is implemented through intrakurikuler learning and non-formal Islamic character development activities. The program has proven effective in enhancing students’ Islamic understanding across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains, as reflected in increased religious knowledge, worship skills, and the development of Islamic morals and character. Nevertheless, further optimization is needed in terms of documenting student development and utilizing evaluation technologies. This study is expected to serve as a reference for the development and improvement of the quality of Islamic Religious Education programs in integrated Islamic schools.

Abstract

This study explores the process of internalizing the values of Pasang Ri Kajang within the informal education system of the Ammatoa Kajang indigenous community in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi. Pasang RI Kajang is a revered oral tradition that serves as a comprehensive life guide encompassing social, spiritual, and environmental ethics. Core values such as kamase-masea (simplicity), kalambusang (honesty), and adherence to customary law are integrated into all aspects of daily life. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with a key informant from the Kajang community who had pursued formal education outside the traditional region. The findings reveal that character education within the Kajang community is shaped through daily practices, role modeling, and active participation in customary rituals. The four paired values of Tuoki’na Kamase-masea which emphasize simplicity in sitting, speaking, walking, and dressing form the foundation for youth character development. The community maintains social equality by symbolic practices such as not using chairs inside homes, enforcing verbal discipline through social fines for harsh language, and prohibiting footwear as a sign of respect toward the earth. These values not only shape individual behavior but also reinforce collective identity and ecological awareness. This study highlights that indigenous education based on local wisdom plays a significant role in preserving cultural values, fostering character development, and promoting environmental stewardship in the context of modern education

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of ecotheology-based Islamic education in responding to global environmental crises, especially in the Forest and Other Land Use (FoLU) sector as well as the NetSink 30 mitigation program. Using a qualitative approach through library research methods, this study explores Islamic values such as monotheism, amanah, and mizan that are integrated into Islamic educational curricula and practices to build awareness and environmental conservation actions. The results of the study show that Islamic education not only shapes believing individuals, but also instills ecological awareness as part of human moral responsibility as a caliph on earth. The ecotheology approach emphasizes harmony between humans and nature and encourages the implementation of sustainable practices related to FoLU management. The study provides a theoretical foundation and practical recommendations for educators, policymakers, and the Muslim community to integrate ecological values in Islamic education, thereby supporting a holistic and sustainable climate change mitigation agenda.
