Abstract

Abstrak: Dalam pembelajaran IPA di sekolah diharapkan guru lebih menekankan pada pemberian pengalaman belajar secara langsung melalui penggunaan dan pengembangan keterampilan proses serta sikap ilmiah, untuk mengembangkan kompetensi sebagai aspek penting kecakapan hidup, sehingga pembelajaran IPA dapat menjadi wahana bagi peserta didik untuk mempelajari diri sendiri dan alam sekitar. Oleh karena itu diperlukan suatu strategi pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada peserta didik (student centered), salah satunya adalah strategi pembelajaran discovery. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi pembelajaran discovery terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa  pada mata pelajaran IPA di SMP Negeri 3 Gunungsari Tahun Ajaran 2014/2015. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain nonequivalen control group desain. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII yang terbagi dalam lima kelas, dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling diperoleh sampel kelas VIIIA sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIIIB sebagai kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di SMPN 3 Gunungsari pada tanggal 28 Oktober sampai tanggal 18 November Tahun 2014. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari tes kemampuan berpikir kritis, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, dan lembar observasi aktivitas guru. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji hipotesis yaitu uji-t polled varians pada taraf signifikan 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata keterampilan berpikir kritis kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari kelas kontrol (73,7>65,8). Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa t hitung lebih besar daripada t tabel (thit3,21>ttab2,02). Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa strategi pembelajaran discovery berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA kelas VIII SMPN 3 Gunungsari Tahun Ajaran 2014/2015. Kata kunci:Strategi Pembelajaran Discovery, Keterampilan Berpikir KritisAbstract: Natural science instruction in school, teachers are expected to put more emphasize on the provision of direct learning experience through the use and development of process skills and scientific attitude, to develop competence as an important aspect of life skills, so that learning science  could be vehicle for students to learn about themselves and the nature around. Therefore, needful learning strategy oriented to students, one of which is a discovery learning strategy. This study aims to determine the effect of discovery learning strategy to students' critical thinking skills in science in the SMPN 3 Gunungsari Academic Year 2014/2015. This study was a quasi-experimental research design with nonequivalen control group design. The population of this study were all students at grade VIII which divided into five classes, using cluster random sampling technique was obtained sample class as a class experiment VIIIA and VIIIB class as the control class. This research was conducted at SMPN 3 Gunungsari, in October to November 2014. The research instrument consisted of a test of critical thinking skills, observation of student activity sheets, and teacher observation sheet activities. Data were analyzed using hypothesis testing polled variance t-test at 5% significance level. The results indicating that the average value of critical thinking skills experimental class is higher than the control class (73.7> 65.8). Hypothesis test results indicating that t-test is higher than t-table (tcount3,21> ttable2,02), so it can be concluded that the discovery learning strategies having an effect on students' critical thinking skills in natural science instruction in class VIII SMP 3 Gunungsari academic year 2014/2015 Keywords:Discovery Learning Strategy, Critical Thinking Skills

Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Science Technology and Society (STS) dengan metode diskusi terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Labuapi tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII SMPN 1 Labuapi tahun ajran 2014/2015. Desain penelitiannya adalah posttest only control group design dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster sampling, sehingga diperoleh kelas VIII C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII E sebagai kelas kontrol. Jumlah siswa pada kedua kelas sama yaitu 25 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes multiple choice dengan empat alternatif jawaban dengan mempertimbangkan validitas, reliabilitas, daya beda dan taraf kesukaran soal. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksprimen adalah 75.05 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 54.4, kedua kelas terdistribusi normal dan homogen. Data posttest dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji-t dua pihak dan diperoleh  sebesar 11.65 sedangkan  2.02 dengan taraf signifikan 5%, dari data tersebut diperoleh sehingga dan atau  maka Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak, yang artinya terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar fisika siswa antara penggunaan model pembelajaran Science Technology and Society (STS) dengan metode diskusi dan model pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Science Technology and Society (STS) dengan metode diskusi berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar fisika siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Labuapi tahun ajaran 2014/2015.                Kata kunci: model pembelajaran STS, metode diskusi, hasil belajar fisika                            Abstract : This research is experimental study aimed to determine the effect of Science Technology and Society (STS) learning model by discussion methode on learning outcomes physics student 8th grade SMPN 1 Labuapi in the academic year 2014/2015. Design research is posttest only control group design with sampling using cluster sampling, in order to obtain students of grade VIII C as experimental class and students of grade VIII E as the control class. The research instrument used was a multiple choice test with four alternative answers considering the validity, reliability, power and level of difficulty different matter. The result showed that the average value was 75.05 posttest experimental class and control class is 54.4, the both class are distributed normally and homogeneous. Posttest data were analyzed using t-test and the two parties obtained of 11.65 while  2.02 with a significant level of 5%, as  so that  or  so Ha accepted and  is rejected, which means that there are differences in the results studied physics students between the use of learning model Science Technology and Society (STS) by discussion method and conventional learning model. Thus, it can be concluded that Science Technology and Society (STS) learning model with discussion method affects the learning outcomes of physics students 8th grade SMPN 1 Labuapi in the academic year 2014/2015.Keywords: learning model, discussion method, learning outcomes

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Melalui proses inkuiri dan belajar dengan melakukan (learning by doing), peserta didik dapat melatih keterampilan proses sains mereka sekaligus memperoleh pembelajaran yang bermakna. Berbagai penelitian telah menunjukkan bahwa belajar dengan melakukan (learning by doing) dan melalui proses inkuiri dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik, termasuk hasil belajar kognitif dan ke-terampilan proses sains. Berdasarkan hasil observasi peneliti di sekolah, diketahui bahwa pembelajaran Biologi masih menekankan pada pembelajaran yang sifatnya konseptual, teoritis dan hafalan melalui buku serta masih berpusat pada guru (teacher-centered). Peserta didik tidak dibiasakan melakukan inkuiri ilmiah melalui eksperimen dan melatih keterampilan proses sains mereka. Akibatnya, hasil belajar mereka belum mencapai hasil yang memuaskan. Metode inkuiri terbimbing di-harapkan dapat mengatasi permasalahan ini. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode inkuiri terbimbing terhadap keterampilan proses sains dan hasil belajar Biologi peserta didik. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di SMPN 3 Gunungsari dari bulan Januari sampai Maret 2014. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VIII tahun ajaran 2013/2014 yang terbagi dalam 5 kelas, kelas VIII A – kelas VIII E. Sampel ditentukan melalui teknik simple random sampling dan diperoleh kelas VIII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII C sebagai kelas kontrol. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan nonequivalent control group design. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur keterampilan proses sains dan hasil belajar Biologi adalah tes pilihan ganda yang sudah valid. Data berupa nilai hasil belajar dan keterampilan proses sains dianalisis menggunakan uji-t pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan:bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar Biologi dan keterampilan proses sains yang signifikan pada kedua kelas. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: metode inkuiri terbimbing memberikan pengaruh yang sama baiknya dengan metode ceramah bervariasi dan praktikum terhadap hasil belajar dan keterampilan proses sains peserta didik. Kata kunci:Metode Inkuiri Terbimbing, Keterampilan Proses Sains, Hasil BelajarABSTRACT: Students are capable to improve their skills in scientific process and to get meaningful learning both by inquiry learning and learning by doing. Many researches reported that learning by doing and inquiry learning could improve student’s achievements, including cognitive achievement and secientific process skills. It was observed that Biology learning at school still mainly emphasize on conceptual, theoritical, recitation learning through textbook and tend to be teacher centered. The students were unfamiliar to do scientific inquiry through experiment and train their scientific process skills. As a consequence, their learning achievement still unsatisfied. Guided inquiry method is expected can overcome this problem. Therefore, the aim of this research is to examine the effect of guided inquiry method on student’s scientific process skills and Biology learning achievement. This research was conducted in SMPN 3 Gunungsari from January to March 2014. Population of this study were all students at grade VIII of academic year 2013/2014 which divided into five classes, VIII A – VIII E. Samples were determined by simple random sampling technique and obtained VIII A as experimental class and VIII C as control class. Research design was nonequivalent control group design. Instrument to measure both student’s scientific process skills and Biology learning achievement was a valid multiple choices test. Data of students’s Biology learning achievement and scientific process skills were analyzed by using t-test formula at level of significant 5%. Results showed that students’s Biology learning achievement and scientific process skills in both classes were not significantly different. Therefore, it can be concluded that effectiveness of expository and experiment method is as good as guided inquiry method on students’s Biology learning achievement and scientific process skills. Key words:Guided Inquiry Method, Science Process Skills, Learning Achievement

Abstrak. Barisan -eksak merupakan perumuman dari barisan eksak yang diperkenalkan oleh Davvaz dan Parnian-Garamaleky. Dalam tulisan ini akan dikaji perumuman dari Lemma Snake dan Lemma Lima yang memanfaatkan sifat-sifat dari barisan -eksak. Kata Kunci : Barisan -eksak, Lemma Snake, Lemma Lima Abstract. -exact sequences was introduced by  Davvaz dan Parnian-Garamaleky as a generalization of exact sequences. In this paper, we give some characterizations and properties of -exact sequences. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatan aktivitas belajar SMP Negeri 19 Mataram dengan menggunakan media audio visual program power point. Program ini dapat memudahkan guru dalam menyampaikan konsep IPA, terutama konsep abstrak menjadi konsep yang konkrit sehingga bisa dinalar siswa, misalnya: organisasi kehidupan. Subyek pada penelitian ini berjumlah 47 siswa kelas VIIA SMP Negeri 19 Mataram. Pengambilan data mengunakan metode observasi, lembar tanggapan dan metode tes.penelitian dilakukan dengan dua siklus. Setiap siklus dilaksanakan dalam dua kali pertemuan. Tahapan tiap siklus meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian pada siklus I, aktifitas siswa pada Proses Belajar Mengajar (PBM) hanya mencapai 51,06%, ketuntasan hasil belajar mencapai 68,77% sedangkan pada siklus II aktifitas siswa pada PBM sudah mengalami peningkatan yaitu mencapai 84,04%, ketuntasan hasil belajar mencapai 84,26%.Kata Kunci: media, aktivitas belajar, powerpoint. Abstract: This study aims to improve learning activities of SMP 19 Mataram students by using audio-visual powerpoint media. The media can facilitate teachers to convey the concept of science, especially the abstract concept into a concrete concept that can be rationalized by students, for example: organization of life. Subjects in this study were 47 students of grade VII of SMPN 19 Mataram. Retrieving data using the method of observation, response sheets and methods tes. This study was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of two sessions. Each cycle includes the stages of planning, action, observation and reflection. The results showed that at the first cycle, the student activity in learning process was only 51.06 %, learning outcomes mastery was 68.77 %, while in the second cycle, the students activity wash 84.04 %, learning outcomes mastery was 84.26 %.Key words: media, lerning activity, powerpoint
