Abstract

The use of phytobiotics which can improve production performance and quality of broiler chicken meat continues to be done. The use of herbs that contain metabolic components is a very important strategy. This study aims to evaluate the production performance and quality of broiler chicken meat given phytobiotic drinks in the finisher period. The study was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design with 4 treatments of phytobiotic drinks 0, 30, 60, and 90% in broiler chickens aged 25-40 days and repeated 5 times. The liquid phytobiotics used in the form of a mixture of Curcuma domestica powder are known as antioxidants, antimicrobials and anti-inflammatory properties. Curcuma domestica: Zingiber officinale: Kaempferia galanga: Curcuma zanthorrhiza: Syzygium polyanthum with a ratio of 1:1:1:1:2. The results showed that giving phytobiotics significantly (P <0.05) increased body weight, carcass weight and broiler feed consumption. The provision of 30% phytobiotics resulted in body weight, carcass weight and feed consumption significantly (P <0.05) compared to giving 0, 60 and 90% phytobiotics. The results of the analysis of the fat and cholesterol content of broiler meat that were given phytobiotics were significantly (P <0.05) lower than the fat content of broiler meat that was not given phytobiotics. The provision of 60% phytobiotics was significantly (P <0.05) lower than the provision of 0, 30 and 90% phytobiotics. While the results of the analysis of protein content of broiler meat given 60% phytobiotics were significantly (P <0.05) higher than those given 0, 30 and 90% phytobiotics. The results of this study can be concluded that the provision of phytobiotics can affect the production performance and quality of broiler chicken meat in the finisher period. Giving 30% phytobiotics can increase as much as 20% body weight, carcass weight and feed consumption. Meanwhile, giving 60% phytobiotics increased 78.58% of meat protein content and decreased 70.54% of meat fat and 75% of meat cholesterol. Abstract

Cayenne pepper (Capsicum frustescens L.) is one of the important vegetable crops for the community as a flavor enhancer in daily cooking. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer application of fermented tempeh bamboo yeast on the characteristics of fruit and seeds as well as yields of cayenne pepper. This research was experimental using RAL with 4 treatments of 0 ml / l, 5 ml / l, 10 ml / l and 15 ml / l of liquid organic fertilizer, fermented bamboo shoots, fermented tempeh, 6 times. The results of this study showed that the production of cayenne pepper with a concentration of 10 ml / l resulted in the production of the best number of fruits with an average of 68.17 grams, while there was a study of the number of seeds showing that a concentration of 10 ml / l produced the best number of seeds with an average of 1.584. Abstract

The components of providing nutritional media are a high cost in the cultivation of Spirulina platensis. It is necessary to search for media sources of nutrition in S.platensis cultivation to reduce production costs and increase income. This study aimed to evaluate the protein, fat and carbohydrate content of S. platensis biomass cultivated in quail manure media. The study was conducted from March to June 2020 using an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 6 replications. The concentrations of quail manure used as a source of nutrition in this study consisted of 50, 100 and 150 g/L and Zarrouk's medium was used as a control or standard media. The results showed that the concentration of quail manure had a significant effect (P <0.05) on the protein, fat, and carbohydrate content of S platensis biomass. The optimum concentration for using quail dung as a cultivation medium for S.plantesis is 100 g/L. Keywords: Spirulina platensis, quail manure, protein, carbohydrates, fat

Abstract

The application of vegetable insecticides derived from water hyacinth leaf extracts was used to determine the mortality rate in armyworms on red spinach plants. The analysis observed from the number of leaves and production of red spinach plants, natural insectide treatment used concentrations of P0 (0%), P1 (5%), P2 (10%) and P3 (15%). The research analysis used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 6 replications, the data obtained were analyzed using the ANNOVA test and the Duncan test. The results showed that presenting a plant-based insecticide on water hyacinth leaf extract had a significant effect (P <0.05) on the number of armyworm mortality, red spinach plant growth (number of leaves) and production of red spinach. The results of the Duncan test analysis showed that the P3 treatment (15%) was significantly different from other analyzes. Abstract

Ekstrak pakis adalah tanaman yang mengandung hormon giberelin. Zat pengatur tumbuh adalah hormon sintetis dari luar tubuh tanaman. Hormon giberelin mempunyai fungsi untuk merangsang perkecambahan, pertumbuhan akar, tunas daun dan menunda penuaan pada daun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak pakis sayur terhadap anatomi tanaman cabai rawit berupa kerapatan stomata dan indeks stomata.Penelitian ini dimulai pada bulan Maret-Mei di green house Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya. Perlakuan ekstrak pakis sayur P0 (0%), P1 (5%), P2 (10%) dan P3 (15%). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 taraf perlakuan dan 6 kali ulangan. Pemberian ekstrak pakis pada tanaman cabai rawit diberikan pada umur tanam 1 bulan, selama 4 kali dengan pemberian 1 minggu sekali. Data hasil penelitian kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan spss 16.0 analisis varians satu arah. Data berpengaruh signifikan akan dilanjutkan uji lanjut yakni uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun pakis sayur menunjukan pengaruh yang nyata (P<0,05) pada kerapatan somata dan indeks stomata daun cabai rawit. Hasil uji Duncan menunjukan bahwa perlakuan P3 (15%) berbeda nyata dibandingkan dengan perlakuan P0 (0%), P1 (5%), P2 (10%). Kata kunci: Ekstrak daun pakis sayur, indeks stomata, kerapatan stomata daun cabai rawit.

Abstract

The low soybean production is caused by many limiting factors, including low soil fertility. This is influenced by the use of chemical fertilizers which is a trend among farmers. Therefore, to overcome the above problems is to utilize pineapple peel waste as a bio-activator and the addition of coconut shell biochar as a medium. This study aims to determine the effect of various concentrations of bioactivator waste from pineapple peels on growth, total chlorophyll content and soybean production. The method used is an experimental method carried out at the Green House of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya. The design used was a factorial design (6x5) arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments. Treatment 1 was negative control (0%), treatment 2 positive control (EM4), treatment 3 bioactivators 10%, treatment 4 bioactivators 20%, treatment 5 bioactivators 30%, treatment 6 bioactivators 40%. Each treatment was repeated 5 times so that 30 experimental pots were needed. The results showed a significant effect on production at a concentration of 30%. Keywords : Soybean (Gycine max (L.)
