Abstract

Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwana, I historically created Beksan Trunajaya as a ballet performance for the Trunajaya team, which was part of the Nyutra troops (soldiers). This Beksan is based on the name of the Tarunajaya courtier group (Taruna means young, and jaya means winning), by the nature of the dance that uses lawung weapons (a kind of spear), which suggests war training. Sultan Hamengku Buwana, I took the name Beksan Trunajaya to instill a heroic spirit through ideals to continue Sultan Agung's struggle to defend his homeland against the Dutch. Research objectives: (1) to describe the review of cultural and power relations in the performing arts of Beksan Trunajaya from the perspective of Pierre Felix Bourdieu's Habitus. (2) to describe the contextual sociological dimensions of cultural and power relations of the Yogyakarta Palace (spiritual, social, and preservation of the natural environment) in the performing arts of Beksan Trunajaya from the perspective of Pierre Felix Bourdieu's Habitus. The type of research used is qualitative research with a semiotic approach dissected with the Roland Barthes semiotic theory approach through the basics of Ferdinand de Sausure's semiotic theory. The study conducted qualitatively dissects the sign system in the Beksan Trunajaya performance by re-reading the visual sign system denotatively and connotatively and exploring the interpretation of values from the visual aspect. The study conducted qualitatively dissects the sign system in the performance of Beksan Trunajaya through the process of reading visual signs, movements, narratives, dialogue, and music. Visual signs include dancer characters, make-up, costumes, behaviour, expressions, and other landmarks surrounding the performance. Visual signs include dancer characters, make-up, costumes, motif forms, and several others surrounding the performance. Signs are born naturally as a reflection of daily life, and several philosophical foundations are put forward substantially in the performance. I was presenting its denotative and connotative meanings in a semi-logical process. The philosophical values that emerge and are found in the relationship between signs in the semiological process consciously or unconsciously reflect the values of moral education. The semiotics of education will be more broadly studied when it is associated with extracting educational values contextual to the sociological conditions and cultural roots that develop in society. The expected results of this research are (1) an explanation of the review of cultural and power relations in the performance art of Beksan Trunajaya from the perspective of Pierre Felix Bourdieu's Habitus. (2) Explanation of the results of the analysis of the contextual sociological dimensions of the cultural and power relations of the Yogyakarta Palace (spiritual, social, and preservation of the Aklam environment) in the performing arts of Beksan Trunajaya in the perspective of Pierre Felix Bourdieu's Habitus

Abstract

Corruption in Indonesia is no longer a new legal issue because the problem of corruption has existed for thousands of years, both in developed countries and developing countries, including Indonesia. Today's corruption problem in Indonesia is so severe that it has become an extraordinary problem because it has infected and spread to all levels of society. Corruption crimes in ancient times were regulated in the Criminal Code due to the dynamics that developed in society. The regulation underwent changes where it was special, or lex was then regulated for the first time in Law Number 31 of 1999 jo. Amendment to Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes. During its activities, corruption is carried out by the holders of the highest power, who have positions that are mostly the result of election winners in a party. The PTPK Law states that people who commit corruption must compensate the state due to the economic and social impact of a region that it causes on the state's finances. On the way, the addition of prison sentences for heavy corruptors provides a deterrent effect for corruption perpetrators, with which it is hoped that corruption crimes can be reduced

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of financial management in long-term investment decision-making through a literature review of various related studies. The main focus of this study is the impact of risk, the application of the time value of money, investment diversification, agency problems, and investment project feasibility evaluation techniques such as Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR). The literature review findings demonstrate that high risk influences investment decisions owing to the unpredictability of future cash flows, necessitating risk mitigation strategies like portfolio diversification and the utilization of derivative instruments. Applying the concept of the time value of money (TVM) is crucial in investment evaluation to facilitate more rational and profitable decisions, considering inflation and discount rates. Diversification of investments has demonstrated efficacy in mitigating volatility and enhancing long-term investment outcomes. Agency problems, which arise from conflicts of interest between owners and managers, also affect the quality of investment decisions, which can be overcome by designing incentives that align with the company's long-term goals. Evaluating the feasibility of investment projects using NPV and IRR helps ensure that the investments can add significant value to the company. This research provides important insights into how good financial management can support more effective and sustainable investment decision-making

Abstract

This study examines the democratization of intelligence oversight in Indonesia, emphasizing the need for robust accountability frameworks within its intelligence sector. While established democracies employ comprehensive oversight structures that include legislative, judicial, and independent bodies, Indonesia's current framework remains underdeveloped, constrained by historical, political, and institutional factors. The study explores Indonesia's oversight mechanisms compared to models from mature democracies such as those in Denmark, the United States, and Germany, where parliamentary committees, independent agencies, and judicial reviews collectively ensure transparency and mitigate abuse of power. Findings reveal that Indonesia's primary oversight challenges stem from limited legislative authority, insufficient judicial engagement, and a need for more independent oversight bodies. Additionally, limited public participation, including civil society and media, further hinders transparency. To enhance democratic intelligence oversight, this paper suggests reforms, including establishing specialized oversight committees, independent review agencies, and judicial oversight protocols. Such measures are essential for protecting civil liberties, fostering public trust, and ensuring intelligence accountability within Indonesia's evolving democratic landscape. This research contributes to the global discourse on intelligence reform, highlighting strategies for emerging democracies to strengthen intelligence governance in response to modern security challenges
