Abstract

PT. FPS (Famous Pacific Shipping) Indonesia is dealing with export and import containers delivery which always needs to innovate to face the competitors. By using SWOT, it is expected that the company could elevate their strength and opportunity and deduce their weakness and threat. The strength factors of PT. FPS Indonesia are wide market share, strategic location, qualified employees, good and strong finance, and has a wide networking. While the weaknesses are the authority of warehousing for stacking, inter department and between branches coordinators, the facilities and infrastructures, and the mapping of career employee. The opportunity factors are the vast development in technology and information, wide networking, good company’s image, the increasing potensial customers, and the Indonesian market policy. On the other hand, the threat factors are the fluctuative world oil price, many competitors, politics situation in Indonesia, tariff exchange, and the fluctuative goods delivery.

Abstract

PT. DHL Exel Supply Chain Indonesia (Kraft Project) is a private company focused on domestic and international delivery and logistics. The company thinks that qualified human resources are important and needed that is the reason why they implement health and work safety procedure to decrease accidents at work. Using simple linear regression analysis and coefficient correlation, the research shows that the implementation of health and work safety contribute 56.4 % to the accident at work. Other factors, 43.6 %, are due to employees’ training, maintenance of operational equipment, and clean and neat work environment.

Abstract

In Jakarta, the sidewalks for pedestrians, are not only bad but also switched functionally. With that being said, sidewalks and zebra cross have become meaningless. PELANGI, one of the Non-Governmental Organization (LSM) that works dominately on the urban studies, mentioned that 65% of the accident on main roads, sadly involved the death of pedestrians, whereas 35% of the victims are underaged kids. These facts, though, have to be considered as our motivation to work on the sidewalks, making it suitable and comfortable to be walked through (walkable). Being supported and encouraged by the qualitative method and literature, indeed, pedestrians also have the same rights in using the roads.

Abstract

High competitive international trade is a key factor to find out the economic prosperity of a country. PT. APL Logistics, a private company which is dealing with delivery and logistics outside and inside Indonesia, pays closely attention of the employees’ skills. This research is using quantitative descriptive to find out the employees’ skills of PT. APL Logistics. Based on the data evaluation and library research, the result shows that 14.7 % of employees have not reach the maximum skills while 83.3 % of employees are reaching good quality. The scoring is based on three criteria; technical skills, individual skills, and individual skills which is considered not optimal.

Abstract

Training program is one of the company’s way to get and select qualified human resources based on the company’s needs and wants. To find out the relationship between safety training on the ship MV. Hilir Mas and the operational performance of PT. Tempura Emas shipmen, the researcher is using two methods which are qualitative method (collecting data from field and library research) and quantitative method ( data taken from the questionnaire response and data analysis using Likert Scale. The result shows that there is a significant and positive relationship between the operational performance of PT. Tempura Emas shipmen and safety training on the ship MV. Hilir Mas.

Abstract

PT. Indonesia Air Asia is one of the Indonesia national flight company which is using Airbus 320-200 and Boeing 737 – 300 for route Jakarta – Yogyakarta – Jakarta. The problem of the research is the high frequency of the flight based on the number of passengers on that route. Using two methods; field and library research and analyzed by market share analysis, linear trend, seat load factor (SFL), to find out the needs of flight frequency, the number of passengers, and diagram rotation. The result shows that there is an addition to the number of passengers and flight frequency of the route. Based on the analysis, Y = a+bX, the fluctuation trend pax on the first quarter route Jakarta – Yogyakarta is 68 % and on the second quarter route Yogyakarta – Jakarta is 67 %. For SFL, route Jakarta – Yogyakarta in the third quarter is 86 % dan the opposite route is 80 %.

Abstract

The competition of transportation services has become tight due to the development of transportation technology. Therefore, travel business competition as partner of the transportion services could also be recognized by the increasing number of similar companies that offer travel services such as ticket sales selling services by giving competitive price and using online services. The research is using Case Study. The aim is to provide an overview of the background, characteristics and distinctive character of the cases. The type of approach and the researcher for one case conducts an intensive, in-depth, detailed and comprehensive analysis (Sugiono: 2008, 98). It was clear that the price, quality of service, and customer satisfaction go hand in hand. In other words, the higher the price and the quality of services will simultaneously increase the customer satisfaction.

Abstract

PT. Angkasa Pura I is the services provider for flights and non-aeronautica in Indonesia. The researcher is using quantitative and simple linear regression analysis (Sugiyono, 20018: 272) to find out the effect of terminal facilities services for the passengers. The result shows that there is an effect of terminal facilities services for the passengers in Husein Sastranegara airport from March to May 2014. The –t count > -t table (5.177 > 1.833) which means Ho is rejected. If Ho is rejected, then there is a significant effect between the services quality to the passengers.

Abstract

PT. Multi Terminal Indonesia is a terminal operator specialized in loading and unloading goods in containers and bulk cargo. The purpose of this research is to find out the factors created the obtacles when loading and unloading scrap, the real problems and effective solutions need to be taken by the company. The research is using fishbone diagram. Using the questionnaire response, the researchers get the factors which are: 1. Materials (the on time performance of trucking part), 2. Machines (loading and unloading complete facilities and equipment), 3. Facilities (Back up area), 4. Machines (the number of loading and unloading scrap), 5. Materials (the number of trucking for each shift). The effective solutions are the company should provide some armadas to be used when in need and ask the owner to prepare everytime in need.

Abstract

Dwelling time is an unfinished classic matter in Indonesia. As a matter of fact, it is a simple thing and is a small part of port management. The research is trying to get the solutions of the matter by using research and development analysis and quantitative method. The important things to do in solving dwelling time are managing the port well, cutting off the complicated bureaucracy, and using one synchronized system for all services.
