Abstract

Many entrepreneurs provide electronic services, especially on cellphones and PCs, but their marketing is very limited due to the location of the store and banners that are not strategic so it is difficult to know where the service is located, on the other hand customers are also difficult to know the estimated cost of repairing electronic devices and often potential customers I was disappointed when I arrived at the location but the service was closed. With these problems, the author built an Android-based Go Service Electronic application by utilizing React Native Framework technology to build Android-based applications and using the Firebase Realtime Database as data storage. The application is also equipped with consulting features, a booking system, calculating the estimated cost of equipment repair services, as well as providing information on the best service services through an assessment system that has been provided by customers who have booked previous services. With the Go Service Electronic application, it is easier for the public to find out where the location of service providers is, find out the estimated repair costs, and can consult directly through the application, as well as being able to increase business opportunities for electronic service providers.

Abstract

Mass media plays a fundamental role in influencing the society and their perceptions in daily life. The target audience by the media determines the how they frame their message and the subject matter that they focus on in their discussions. As mental illness is becoming one of the contemporary issues in the modern society, the role of mass media particularly how they define their target audience is not adequately explored. This is despite mental illness continuing to ravage the society, especially with the increased stigmatization. This study therefore sought to examine the how mass media target audience impact mental illness stigmatization in among students in Kenya Medical Training College. The study was anchored on the cognitive dissonance theory.  Using a descriptive research approach, the study through a questionnaire surveyed 384 students drawn from a population of 51045 students at the college. The data was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics through SPSS. The findings revealed that mass media target audience through the reduced dissonance, acquisition of new information and cognitive actions significantly impacted the mental illness stigmatization. Through the beliefs towards the mentally ill persons as projected by the mass media to their target audience, the stigmatization of mentally ill persons either increased or decreased depending on the approach used by the mass media. The study concluded that mass media target audience was instrumental in determining the level of stigmatization of the mentally ill persons. It is therefore recommended that the mass media should define their target audience in a manner that positively changes their perceptions towards mental illness.

Abstract

This paper explores the pivotal role of social media in fostering peace and examines responsible monitoring practices to counteract hate speech and fake news propagation. Leveraging an interdisciplinary approach, our research method entailed case studies and  a systematic review of existing literature encompassing studies on social media's impact on public opinion, the spread of misinformation, and successful instances of peace promotion through online platforms. Our findings indicate that while social media has the potential to facilitate peacebuilding, the challenges posed by hate speech and misinformation persist. We elucidate the crucial role of artificial intelligence (AI) and human moderation in identifying and mitigating harmful content, underscoring the need for transparent algorithms, human oversight, and continual evaluation. This paper also highlights successful case studies where social media has been instrumental in bridging divides and promoting dialogue. We contend that by addressing these challenges and implementing responsible monitoring strategies, social media should contribute to a more peaceful and inclusive online environment.

Abstract

This study analyzes the suitability of Ambon city landscape for settlement development purposes. This research utilizes spatial analysis to evaluate the characteristics of the terrain shape and Land Use Territory (WTU) in the context of settlement suitability. This research uses DEM (Digital Elevation Model) to generate slope and elevation or altitude which is later used to create terrain shape map and business land area map . these studies involve the collection and integration of landscape data, such as topography, land use, vegetation, and other environmental factors. Then, spatial analysis methods are used to assess the suitability of the landscape for settlement by considering factors such as accessibility, availability of essential services, and potential environmental impacts.Making landscape suitability using the weighted sum overlay method. The results showed that the landscape in Ambon City that is suitable for settlement development is 30,456.94 ha and the unsuitable one has an area of 16,890.38 ha. The results of this study provide insight into the most suitable locations for settlements based on physical and environmental factors. The results of this study are expected to support sustainable urban planning in Ambon by considering aspects of landscape suitability.
