Abstract

The average age for first having sexual intercourse outside of marriage, which is 14-19 years, is one of the causes of the risk of cervical cancer. This research compares the knowledge level on cervical cancer prevention among class X high school female students in public versus the private schools within the Badung Regency. A cross-sectional comparative study is used as the study designed, which includes a total sample of 336 female students (n=336) by utilizing questionnaires. Bivariate analysis with Interdependent T-test and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPPS) is appropriate for analyzing the gathered research data. The results of this study between public and private high schools in Badung Regency have different levels of knowledge about cervical cancer prevention. Data analysis shows that 99 (29.5%) female respondents in public high schools know about cervical cancer prevention, and only 80 (23.8%) female students from private schools. The findings of this study imply that school-based teaching is critical for increasing understanding and lowering cervical cancer rates, as well as collaborating with the health department to provide cervical cancer counseling and installing health-related information media in the school environment.

Abstract

Abstract

Occupational contact dermatitis is an inflammatory skin condition that shows clinical abnormalities in the form of erythema, vesicles, and pruritus caused by contact with materials in the workplace. One of the factors thought to influence the occurrence of contact dermatitis is the duration of contact. The longer the contact with chemicals, the more damage the skin cells located in the deeper layers and the occurrence of damage to skin function, making it easier for dermatitis to occur. This study aims to determine the relationship between the duration of contact of vehicle washing workers with occupational contact dermatitis in car wash employees in North Denpasar sub-district. The research data were obtained from the Nordic Occupational Skin Questionnaire (NOSQ) and Mathias questionnaires involving 30 vehicle wash workers in North Denpasar sub-district. Data were analyzed by SPSS program using chi-square test. The results showed that the majority of vehicle washing workers who work in North Denpasar are aged 16-25 years (86.7%), the majority of workers have a contact duration of less than 7 hours (53.3%), and the majority of workers experience occupational contact dermatitis (63, 3%). The results of the analysis showed that there was a relationship between duration of contact and the incidence of occupational contact dermatitis in car wash employees in North Denpasar District (p = 0.017). The conclusion that can be drawn is there is a relationship between duration of contact with the incidence of occupational contact dermatitis in car wash employees in North Denpasar District.

Abstract

Abstract [Overview of the Stunting Determinants in 24-59 Months Toddlers in Puskesmas Susut 1 Bangli] Stunting is when a toddler has shorter height than the standard height for their age due to chronic malnutrition. Indonesia is ranked third for highest prevalence of stunting in Southeast Asia. Furthermore, Bangli is the regency with the second highest stunting prevalence in Bali Province, Indonesia (28,4%). Based on survey at Puskesmas Susut 1 Bangli, there are 66 toddlers with stunting in August 2020. Maternal, child, parenting, and family socio-economic are factors that could contribute to stunting. This study aims to describe the causes of stunting in toddlers aged 24-59 months in the working area of Puskesmas Susut 1 Bangli. A descriptive qualitative method was used with 10 main informants and 15 supporting informants. Primary data from in-depth interviews and observation, as well as secondary data from toddlers’ documents were obtained. The data were analyzed by interactive analysis and presented in narrative text. The results of this study indicate that the factors that may be associated with stunting incidence are maternal and parenting factors. The low education of mothers and insufficient diet given by the mothers or guardians seemed to be stunting determinants from maternal and parenting factors. Meanwhile, no abnormalities are found in the childs’ and family socio-economic factors. In conclusions, the factors that influence the stunting incidence in this study are low maternal education and insufficient diet.

Abstract

Due to the Pandemic Situation in 2019, It gave a negative impact on both physical and mental health. Stress causes behavioral and hormonal changes, which improve a person's ability to adapt to environmental changes and survive. This stressful condition may result in a negative response, such as a surge of appetite that tends to be negative, triggering an increase in the consumption of foods high in calories, fat, and sugar. This is linked to the control of emotional eating, which can lead to obesity. As a result, research on the relationship between stress levels and emotional eating during the COVID-19 pandemic is critical. This study's data was collected from 218 students at Warmadewa University's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. This study employs a descriptive-analytic approach, with a cross-sectional design and Spearman test analysis. The goal of this study was to determine the relationship between stress levels and emotional eating in FKIK students at Warmadewa University during the COVID-19 Pandemic. According to the results of the analysis, 144 students (66 percent) reported moderate stress, while 100 reported emotional eating (45.9 percent ) This study's ρ-value of Spearman's test is 0.001, with a correlation value of 0.747, indicating that there is a very strong relationship between stress and emotional eating. As a result, this study supports the existence of a link between stress levels and emotional eating among students at Warmadewa University's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences from semester 1 to semester 7 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

[Factors Influencing The Incidence Of Stunting In Children Aged 2-5 Years At The Ubud 1 Gianyar Public Health Center] Stunting is a chronic nutritional disease caused by inadequate nutritional intake during the growth period. The diagnosis of stunting is made if the Z-score of length or height per age is less than -2 SD (Standard Deviation) based on the WHO child growth standard. This study aims to explain the factors that influence the incidence of stunting in children aged 2-5 years at the Ubud 1 Gianyar Public Health Center. This research was carried out in the working area of the Ubud 1 Health Center, Gianyar in January-June 2022. This study was a quantitative analytic study with a case-control design, which used 60 samples, consisting of 30 cases and 30 controls. Sampling was collected with a consecutive sampling technique, where all subjects who met the inclusion criteria were included in the study until the required number of samples were met. Data was collected by measuring height, interviews and filling out questionnaires. The research was analyzed by univariate, bivariate, and multivariate. Based on the Chi-square test, there was a significant relationship between the level of feeding patterns (p-value 0.038), exclusive breastfeeding pattern (p-value 0.000), parental education (p-value 0.001), infectious diseases (p-value 0.019). However the utilization of health services could not be measured in this study. This study concluded that the nonexclusive breastfeeding pattern was the most influential factor in the incidence of stunting compared to other risk factors (odds ratio = 9,333). Further research is needed with a mixed method approach in order to obtain better analytical results in assessing the effect on stunting.
