Abstract

The use of coconut wood is considered an environmentally friendly alternative because coconut wood comes from people's plantations without destroying forests. Another problem in the wooden house industry is knowing that the method of making roof frames is not yet a safe standard. The objectives of this research are: 1) Provide information about how to obtain conventional wood and coconut wood materials. 2) Explain how to select the quality and type of wood. 3) Explain that coconut wood can be used as a roof frame. 4) Explain the technical obstacles to roof trusses using coconut wood. 5) Explain the model for making a roof frame based on the basic requirements for a safer house. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative through qualitative data analysis. The results of the roof frame model for the Woloan house do not meet the requirements for a house that is safer from earthquakes

Abstract

Increasing human resource competency is one of the keys to advancing the maritime and fisheries sector in Indonesia. Increasing human resource competency must be balanced with standardization, competency of teaching staff and good infrastructure. This research aims to determine the importance of competency-based learning to improve the quality of competent human resources to advance the marine and fisheries sector. The method used in this research is the literature review method. The results of this research are that there are several important factors in improving the competency of marine and fisheries         human            resources,      namely: standardization, curriculum, teaching staff and good infrastructure. If these four factors are met then it can improve the knowledge, skills and attitudes of marine and fisheries human resources

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between political ties, profitability, and leverage. tax evasion.Using a purposive sampling technique, this study was conducted between 2018 and 2021 on manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange., obtaining 67 companies as research samples. Using EViews version 12, panel data regression was the testing method employed in this investigation. The study's findings suggest that tax evasion is influenced by political ties, profitability, and leverage all at the same time. In part, the profitability variable has a negative effect on tax avoidance (tax avoidance), the leverage variable has a positive effect on tax avoidance (tax avoidance) and the political connection variable has no effect on tax avoidance (tax avoidance)

Abstract

John Austin's thoughts on positive law have played a central role in the development of positive legal theory and the concept of the rule of law. However, his highly formalistic view, with its emphasis on law as commandment without including moral and ethical aspects, has received significant criticism. This article analyzes the influence of Austin's thought on modern legal understanding and how criticism of his approach has guided the development of a more inclusive and civilized theory of positive law. This discussion highlights the need to integrate aspects of morality in lawmaking and recognize the complexity of the relationship between law, morality, and justice in modern society. Recommendations are presented to encourage the development of a more balanced theory of positive law and ensure that enacted laws reflect broader ethical values

Abstract

The lawyer profession plays a crucial role in maintaining integrity and justice in the legal system. From the perspective of legal philosophy, the professional ethics of advocates is a deep and complex foundation. Several philosophical views, such as utilitarianism, deontology, and contractualism, provide a framework for understanding advocate ethics. The utilitarian view emphasizes the importance of achieving the best outcome for society as a whole, which can create ethical dilemmas when advocates are faced with controversial cases. In contrast, deontology emphasizes the moral obligations that advocates must follow, which can give rise to conflicts between obligations to clients and society. Contractualism links the ethics of advocates to the moral agreements that underlie the legal system, emphasizing their responsibility for better social change. Advocate ethics is also closely related to the concept of social justice, where advocates must ensure that the law is applied fairly, regardless of individual background. In addition, in dealing with ethical conflicts in practice, advocates must refer to the ethical principles of their profession as a guide. Advocates' ethics not only underlie their duties as legal representatives, but also involve moral considerations about how their actions may affect society as a whole. This is a very important foundation in maintaining professionalism and carrying out their role as law enforcers

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are one of the project elements in the Pancasila profile in order to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students, especially critical thinking. Students who are able to think critically are students who have objective critical thinking skills who are able to effectively process, analyze and evaluate the information obtained to draw conclusions. This research aims to describe the Pancasila student profile of class IV phase (B) students by using critical thinking skills in understanding fraction material. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach, which is based on actual data obtained from the field. The subjects of this research were 21 students from class IV B at SDN Kepuhwisata 1, consisting of 12 girls and 9 boys. This research focuses on students who have high critical thinking abilities (TAM). The data collection methods used involved written tests, unstructured interviews, and documentation. The written test was carried out twice, the first was a mathematics ability test which consisted of 5 questions and was tested on all class IV B students. The aim was to identify each student's critical thinking abilities. The second test is a critical thinking test which is taken by three students. These students are students who are selected and have been selected from the first test. Next, the three subjects will be analyzed in detail and interviews will be conducted

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of an open ended approach on the critical thinking skills of grade IV elementary school students. This study used a quasi-experimental design quantitative research approach with a Posstest Only Control Group Design design. The sampling technique in this study was a saturated sample, namely the entire fourth grade students of SD Hang Tuah 10 Juanda. Data collection applies test, observation, and documentation methods. The test results through the calculation process are then analyzed through hypothesis tests by applying two-party t-tests starting with prerequisite tests in the form of normality tests and homogeneity tests. The results of this study show that = 2.6 and = 2.1 so that > or < with a significant level of 5% are rejected. This means that there is an influence of an open ended approach on the critical thinking skills of grade IV elementary school students

Abstract

The study aims to characterize students' misconceptions regarding decimal fraction calculations based on their mathematical proficiency. This research is qualitative in nature. Fifth grade students at SDN Dukuh Menanggal I Surabaya were the research subjects, consisting of three students with high mathematics abilities, one student with moderate mathematics abilities, and one student with low mathematics abilities. Written tests and interviews were used as data collection methods, and misconception tests consisting of description questions and interview guides were used as research instruments. Research findings show that, contrary to popular belief, students who are highly skilled in mathematics make errors when writing numbers in their answers, even when the answers are unrelated to the question. When calculating the results of decimal fraction calculations, students with moderate abilities make mistakes due to misconceptions. Meanwhile, students with low ability have misconceptions when they do their work correctly, do not work seriously, and cannot understand the meaning of the questions
