Abstract

Recently, there has been an increase in interest in the use of microorganisms that are used as a preventive effort to prevent dental and oral health problems, known as probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics, and postbiotics. As more and more clinical trials of the use of microorganisms show positive results for certain conditions, Postbiotics have several advantages, including safety, longer shelf life, absence of risk and patentability, which makes them more attractive than probiotics. This review covers a wide range of aspects, starting with an introduction, terminology, role of post biotik, and a brief mechanism of action. The discovery section concludes by highlighting the challenges and future directions to improve postbiotic discovery. The review concludes by highlighting the ongoing applications of postbiotics in expanded clinical trials, providing a comprehensive overview of the current landscape in postbiotic development

Abstract

Product-Based Learning (PBL) enables students not only to learn theory, but also to be directly involved in the production process of real goods or projects, so that the practicum skills needed in the industry can be formed more optimally. This research method used is mixmethode. The results showed that the implementation of PBL in the Welding and Plate Practice II course has great potential to develop student skills that are relevant to industry needs and support the department's infrastructure. The results of PBL implementation also reached a score of 4,304 with a percentage of 48.3% in the “Excellent” category, proving the effectiveness of this method in successfully supporting students' technical skills. Nevertheless, some obstacles such as limited laboratory facilities and lack of cross-disciplinary collaboration and industry involvement are still a challenge

Abstract

This study discusses foreign investment disputes involving Indonesia in international arbitration forums, particularly under the jurisdiction of ICSID (International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes). The main focus of this study is on the interpretation of the provisions of Article 2 paragraph (1) in the Indonesia-UK Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT), which regulates the conditions for the entry of foreign investment in Indonesia. In the Rafat Ali Rizvi case, the arbitration panel decided that the process of entering investment that does not comply with the provisions of the Foreign Investment Law (UU PMA) cannot be included in the scope of the BIT. This study provides important recommendations for Indonesia in re-evaluating the provisions in each BIT involving Indonesia, as well as conducting further studies on ICSID arbitration decisions to understand the interpretation of BIT articles related to jurisdiction and the subject matter. Thus, this study aims to strengthen Indonesia's position in facing investment disputes at the international level

Abstract

The primary metabolic symptom of diabetes mellitus is hyperglycemia. Analysing HbA1c levels can help determine blood glucose management. Elevations in blood pressure can be caused by abnormalities in the metabolism of glucose.  Patients with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus may experience elevated blood pressure. To ascertain whether blood pressure and HbA1c levels are correlated in patients with uncontrolled DM. There were 90 subjects aged between 31-65 years consisting of 48 men and 42 women. HbA1c levels were checked using the boronate affinity method and blood pressure was measured using a sphygmomanometer.  Data analysis used the independent difference t-test and Mann-Whitney U test as well as the Spearman correlation test with a significance level of α=0.05. Research subjects had an average HbA1c level of 10 ± 2.08% (7.1-15). Mean systolic blood pressure was 132.75 ± 18.04 mmHg (90-180). The average diastolic blood pressure was 83.28 ± 10.38 mmHg (60-120). Subjects who experienced hypertension were 36.66%. There were no differences in blood pressure between men and women (systolic p=0.70 and diastolic p=0.58). There was no correlation between HbA1c levels and blood pressure (systolic: r=0.022, p=0.81 and diastolic: r=0.022, p=0.81). There was no correlation between duration of DM and blood pressure (systolic: r=.093 and p=0.38 and diastolic: r= -.032 and p=0.76). There was no correlation between HbA1c levels and blood pressure

Abstract

Mixed liquor has caused many deaths in Cicalengka, Bandung Regency, thus attracting the attention of the Indonesian people. This study uses a juridical-social method as well as library and field data collection techniques. Several preventive efforts have been carried out by one of the authorized law enforcement agencies, namely the Cicalengka Police. Preventive measures taken include preventive efforts in the form of routine socialization and education of the community to avoid consumption and trade of mixed liquor and routine raids, and repressive efforts in the form of confiscation of evidence and follow-up to incidents related to the use of mixed liquor. There are many obstacles that hinder efforts to overcome the use of mixed liquor in Cicalengka. First, consuming mixed liquor has become a culture of the community in the Cicalengka area that normalizes the consumption of mixed liquor. Second, public education and understanding of mixed liquor are still very low. Many people assume that legal and mixed liquor have the same composition and side effects. The third obstacle is the inconsistency between the laws and regulations regarding mixed alcoholic beverages and the inconsistent attitude of the law makers in regulating these laws

The dependent variable in this study is audit quality. Control variables are also involved in this study, which include firm size and firm age. The logistic regression analysis method was used in this study. All data used was obtained from the annual reports of non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for 2020-2022. A total of 936 samples were selected using a purposive sampling method. The study results show that board size and financial literacy of the audit committee have a significant positive effect on audit quality. Independent commissioners and institutional ownership also have a positive effect but not significant on audit quality. These findings may indicate that increasing the board size and the presence of audit committee members who have accounting knowledge can improve audit quality in the company
