ABDIKAN (Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Bidang Sains dan Teknologi) diterbitkan 4 (empat) kali dalam setahun, yaitu pada bulan Februari, Mei, Agustus dan November oleh Yayasan Literasi Sains Indonesia. Jurnal ABDIKAN didedikasikan untuk mempublikasi hasil-hasil kegiatan Pengabdian yang dilakukan oleh Mahasiswa, Dosen dan seluruh lapisan Masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk menyebarluaskan hasil pemikiran dan gagasan konseptual, serta tentang kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat dengan berbagai potensi, hambatan, tantangan, dan permasalahan yang ada di lingkungan masyarakat dalam bidang sains dan teknologi.

<![CDATA[The school canteen is one of the important school facilities in supporting the teaching and learning process. However, a number of schools in Indonesia do not have canteens and a number of other schools have canteens of substandard quality. In order to grow and develop optimally, students must consume food that is safe, healthy, halal and nutritious. Therefore, schools play a role in providing quality food and drinks for students in their environment. Parepare City as a child-friendly city with the nindya category, the local government has the responsibility to fulfill children's rights and protect, one of which is the fulfillment of school children's snack food according to nutritional, halal and clean standards. The activities carried out are conducting training to the school's academic community, which includes food handlers and teachers. The training material provided covers the concept of the BERHAZI canteen (diverse, halal and nutritious), balanced nutrition and indicators of the BERHAZI canteen. Participants who take part in the training become working group teams (Pokja) for the management of BERHAZI canteens in their respective schools. Schools are expected to apply the BERHAZI canteen concept in their respective schools so that they can become a pilot canteen in Parepare City.]]>

<![CDATA[There are numerous addictive chemicals that are extremely harmful to the body and pose a problem for humanity in various parts of the world. One of them is commonly referred to as narcotics, psychotropic, and other addictive chemicals (drugs) or drugs (narcotics and dangerous drugs). The purpose of the service is to inform the public of the health risks associated with drug abuse and cigarette smoking, to persuade the public of the importance of protecting themselves and their families from drugs and cigarettes, and to demonstrate the effectiveness of government programs in eradicating drug abuse. In partnership with the National Narcotic Board (BNN) RI, 125 participants have received socialization through online presentations, as well as information counseling for early identification and anticipation of the hazards of narcotics, cigarette, and also new psychoactive substances (NPS). Through the socialization and education on the dangers of narcotics and cigarette use for this health, it can be concluded that the participants gain confidence, knowledge, and early detection of the type of New Psychoactive Substance (NPS), narcotics, and cigarettes, as well as a heightened awareness of the dangers of drug and cigarette use. So that this action can assist the government in strengthening by soliciting the public's assistance and support for BNN's efforts to break the chain of illegal drug trafficking, it is intended.]]>

<![CDATA[The locus of stunting in 2020 in Bali has increased to five regions, namely Denpasar and Badung districts. One of the stunting loci in Badung district, namely in the Kuta Health Center area, North Kuta sub-district in Tibubeneng Village (BKKBN prop Bali, 2020), obtained data on 342 toddlers, found 32 children with very short status toddlers and 16 children with a total of 48 toddlers (14.04%). From the results of Kurniasih's research (2020), it was found that short mothers (TB <150 cm) are a risk factor for stunting. Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem in toddlers which is characterized by shorter height compared to children of their age. Children who suffer from stunting will be more susceptible to disease and as adults are at risk of contracting degenerative diseases and affecting children’s intelligence level. So this community service activity targets young women as prospective mothers, so they don't give birth to short toddlers (stunting). The activity is carried out by providing education in the form of online counseling activities about health for adolescents. From the results of counseling activities, it was found that the knowledge of adolescents in the Good category increased from 71% to 86%, sufficient knowledge from 24% decreased to 14% and knowledge of less than 5% became 0%]]>

<![CDATA[The service activities carried out are in the form of learning assistance in mathematics for class VII students at Christian Middle School 03 Kalabahi, the purpose of this mentoring activity is to increase students' understanding, enthusiasm and enthusiasm for learning, especially in mathematics subject material about arithmetic operations algebraic form. Class VII students of SMP Kristen 03 Kalabahi have low interest in mathematics, this can be seen from their lack of enthusiasm in learning in class and their low understanding of the material provided. This is known through observation and initial identification carried out in class. This mentoring activity is carried out through teaching and learning assistance to students using test methods, lectures, discussions and problem solving methods. At the beginning of this mentoring activity, students gave pretest with the aim of being able to find out the abilities of students before carrying out mentoring. After being provided with assistance by the service team, the students will be given posttest with the aim of knowing the level of success of the assistance carried out. The results of this activity have a very good and enthusiastic response from students to take part in good tutoring which can increase students' understanding, enthusiasm and enthusiasm in learning algebraic arithmetic operations.]]>

<![CDATA[Excessive attention to aesthetic skin problems, the widespread use of cosmetics by the public with all the positive and negative impacts received by the skin, have also brought developments in medical science in general, in the field of Dermatology in particular. The purpose of carrying out community service activities in the form of counseling about "Education on dangerous creams containing mercury & how to check BPOM" is to educate and provide information about dangerous creams containing mercury and how to check BPOM on beauty products used to pay attention to the use of cosmetics, especially creams on the face and how to respond to the circulation of cosmetics with dangerous chemicals. Community Service activities in the context of counseling, information and education for high school students regarding safe and dangerous cosmetics have been well implemented. Initially, in the pretest, only 5 of 5 questions were correct with 19 students out of a total of 33 students, then in the posttest, they answered 5 out of 5 questions correctly with 21 students out of a total of 28 students. This means experiencing success in increasing knowledge after holding educational activities.]]>

<![CDATA[A prolonged pandemic as a result of the Corona virus is one form of threat that attacks many countries in the world. This pandemic has an impact on almost all sectors of life. One of the sectors affected apart from health is the economic sector. The economic sector cannot be separated from the shift where previously there were many conventional businesses, so in recent years it has begun to shift to digital business. In relation to MSMEs as one of the economic sub-sectors, inevitably they have to keep up with the times. The phenomenon that MSME products have constraints in terms of marketing so that many products are not sold, the use of traditional marketing strategies that have not reached a wide market share and a significant decline in income during the Covid-19 pandemic which has an impact on the low economic resilience of MSME actors. This PKM activity does not only carry out digital marketing activities for MSME products, but also solves the problems of cassava chip SMEs in marketing their products, from product design, packaging, to marketing through digital marketing. The objectives of this PKM are 1) to provide training to cassava chips SMEs how to design products to be attractive and provide different flavors that are liked by potential consumers; 2) provide training on how to package attractive and durable products; 3) provide training on how to market products through digital marketing so that the products produced are known to the wider community. The method used is in the form of training for MSME actors with clear output targets for each training subject.]]>

<![CDATA[The Wharen Huis Building is a building protected by Law Number 11 of 2010 and the Mayor of Medan Decree Number 433/28.K/X/2021. As a preservation and protection effort that will create an optimal function while protecting or maintaining the authenticity of the Wharen Huis Building as a Cultural Heritage of Medan City, the Government of Medan City through the Housing, Residential Areas and Spatial Planning Office of Medan City plans to revitalize the Wharen Huis Cultural Heritage Building by not violating the applicable theories and regulations related to historic building conservation efforts. The Wharen Huis Heritage Building Revitalization/Restoration Activity Plan consists of 3 (three) stages of activity, namely the pre-construction stage, the construction stage, and the operational stage. Each stage of these activities is predicted to have an impact on the environment. Based on the Regulation of the Minister of State for the Environment No. 4 of 2021, the Revitalization of the Wharen Huis Cultural Heritage Building must have a Type C Environmental Impact Analysis (AMDAL). Referring to Government Regulation Number 22 of 2021, those in charge of businesses and/or activities in preparing an EIA must go through the stages of public consultation. The results of the public consultation obtained input related to building ownership, transportation circulation and support for the preservation of cultural heritage. Public consultation activities obtained several important issues that became input in public consultation activities, including the following 1. Regarding the revitalization of the Wharen Huis Cultural Heritage Building, the Medan City Government should be able to coordinate or communicate with the building owner in terms of managing the building, 2. In its construction, there will be an impact that the circulation of transportation passing through the building must be disturbed, it should be necessary to place parking bags to the west of the building that still exists and 3. we are very enthusiastic and supportive in revitalizing this building as an example for the public interest and become something different in terms of learning historical buildings in Medan City.]]>

<![CDATA[Rice cultivation techniques in swampland are one of the important factors in supporting yield productivity and farmer income. Unfortunately, the land has not been optimally optimized because the human resources of farmers are still low. The purpose of mentoring and practicum is to increase shared knowledge between students and farmers regarding swamp rice cultivation techniques properly and correctly. The results of practicum and mentoring activities show that there is real social interaction between students and farmers, where students gain knowledge and field experience. Meanwhile, farmers obtained new information and knowledge related to rice cultivation in swamps.]]>

<![CDATA[Technological developments have a role in the competition for metal processing in the home industry, namely the development of metal heating devices. However, the home industry needs to consider environmentally friendly metal heaters. One of the environmentally friendly metal heaters is an induction heater. Induction heater has a metal heating technique by utilizing electromagnetic induction which is more efficient than using a conventional metal heating furnace. Induction heaters have advantages in terms of easier use, efficient in terms of energy, time and temperature regulation. Induction heating is a metal heating technique by utilizing electromagnetic induction from high frequency AC waves, which is more efficient than using conventional metal heating furnaces. This problem is the basis for holding training on the design and application of the INTENSOR tool. This community service activity has had quite a good impact in: 1) increasing the knowledge and skills of metal processing business actors in designing INTENSOR tools; 2) increase the knowledge of metal processing business actors in making and applying INTENSOR tools. Community service activities are carried out for 6 months and are intended for metal processing business actors.]]>

<![CDATA[Dharmawangsa Private High School Medan is one of the national standard schools that is required to always develop and improve the quality of education and professionalism of service to students. Training in the use of information and communication technology devices is urgently needed so that later students and students can use them properly. The students have not been able to fully use Microsoft Excel, especially material related to macros because it is not taught at school and the high cost of computer courses among students in the Medan area. One of them is to train the ability to use a word processing application, namely Microsoft Excel. Community service activities are emphasized in the form of training on how to apply Microsoft Excel for 20 students in Dharmawangsa Medan Private High School. It is hoped that with this training, students will be able to know more about the technique of using Microsoft Office by utilizing Microsoft Excel from the service activities carried out to provide experience and skills for students in using Microsoft Office. Thus, the implementation of community service activities at Dharmawangsa Private High School Medan Using Microsoft Excel provides significant benefits for improving the skills of students and students in utilizing information technology and computers, they are very enthusiastic to participate in further activities. They already understand and canoperate Microsoft Office.]]>
