Abstract

Research is directed to determine backward linkage, forward linkage, the output, income, employment and gross value added multiplier effect of oil palm in Indonesia. Data used in the study are Input- Output tables Indonesia in 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2003, 2005, and 2008 with 66 sector classification published by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) by Input- Output analysis. Based on the survey results revealed that both backward and forward linkage of palm oil commodities is still below the average of all economic sectors in Indonesia . The multiplier effect of commodity output of palm oil is above the average of all sectors of the economy but the multiplier effect of income, employment and gross value added oil palm is still below the average of all economic sectors in Indonesia .Key words: input-output,  multiplier effect, palm oil, sectoral linkage.

Abstract

Pati Regency is a regency that relies on agriculture as the sector that contributed greatly to the formation of GDRP. Accordingly, this research is needed to determine the sectors and subsectors basis, so that local development can be done optimally. The basic method used is descriptive method, while for determination of the area of research is purposive method. The data used are secondary data obtained from the BPS, Bappeda, and Department of Agriculture. Methods of data analysis involves determining GDRP 2012 constant prices, location quotient analysis, component of regional growth analysis, and leading sectors and sub-sectors analysis. The result of the data analysis showed that based on the average value of LQ, there are three base sectors, that are agriculture sector; electric, gas and clear water sector; and financial, ownership and busines services sector. During the years 2009-2012, the sub sectors which has always been a sub sector basis are able to meet the needs of the region itself can even export to other region are farm food corps sub-sector, non food crops sub-sector, forestry sub-sector, and fishery sub-sector. From the nine sectors of the economy, only the slow-growing agricultural sector, while the other eight sectors of the economy have rapid growth. Agricultural sector, minning and quarring sector, manufacturing industry sector, and construction sector are the sectors that have a competitive advantage with the same sectors in the other regions in Central Java Province. The fifth sub-sectors of agriculture has rapid growth. There are four leading sectors in Pati Regency, that are agriculture sector, minning and quarring sector, manufacturing industry sector, and construction sector. In the agricultural sub-sector, there are four sub-sectors that have potential as a leading sub sectors, namely farm food corps subsector, non food crops sub-sector, forestry sub-sector, and fishery sub-sector. Key words:     component of regional growth, leading sectors and sub-sectors, Location Quotient.

Abstract

Heavy metal pollution is very harmful to the environment around us, especially to the aquatic environment. Disposal of industrial waste around Garang watershed directly or indirectly cause pollution of heavy metals, especially Pb. Lead is toxic, Bioaccumulative, biomagnifications and carcinogenic. Of the occurrence of heavy metal pollution in the waters Pb Kaligarang. The fish that live and breed in Kaligarang will also accumulate Pb heavy metal. This study aims to identify water quality downstream, middle and upstream of Kaligarang. ,identify  pollution of heavy metal Lead (PB)  in Kaligarang Lower, Middle and Upper, and identify the accumulation of heavy metals Lead (Pb) in Red Wader fish. The method used was exploratory observational research with quantitative approach which aims to describe the heavy metal content of Pb in red Wader fish in Kaligarang. From research to know that the water quality of the Kaligarang rivers appropriate based environmental parameters such as temperature, Ph, BOD, DO Kaligarang not exceed the quality standards that apply to water quality classification based on class I. The content of heavy metals Pb at Station I (Ungaran), Station 2 (Monument Suharto) and Station 3 (Simongan) still below the maximum limit criteria for water quality standards according the PP . No. 82 Th 2001. Heavy metal accumulation of Pb  in fish is known that the levels of heavy metals contained in red wader fish still be well below the standards set both of FDR New Zealand, FAO , and SNI. 7387.2009. Abstract

Paddy production is influenced by several factors, including land, labor, seed and fertilizer use. This study aims to determine the effect of production inputs (land, labor, seeds, and fertilizers) on rice production in Central Java. Secondary data from 35 regency in Central Java Province over the past five years have been analyzed to answer the research objectives. Analysis tool used is multiple regression with Coob-Douglas production function. The analysis showed that the independent variables consist of land, labor, seed and fertilizer together had a significant effect on paddy production in Central Java Province at the level of confidence up to α = 99% (F test). Test coefficient of determination (R2) of 0,924, so the variation of variables in paddy production in Central Java can be explained by the variables of land, labor, seed and fertilizer by 92,4% while the remaining 7,6% is explained by other factors outside the model. Partially based on the t test, land, labor and fertilizer effect is significant at p <0,01, while the use of the seeds have a significant effect at α =  10 %. The entire independent variables have a positive and significant at p <0,01 - p <0,10 for the hypothesis 1, 2, 3, and 4 are acceptable. Production elasticity value is 1,426 (elastic). This means that the overall paddy production in Central Java is still able to operate with increasing returns to scale. Key word: Central Java, input, paddy, production, scale of return.

Abstract

Yard can provide great benefits to society, because it can planted  vegetables, fruit and herbs such as turmeric, lemongrass etc. Yard can also be used as a source of animal protein and an additional source of family income. The advantages of cultivate quail is it has small body size and weighs around 130 grams, short life cycle, high egg productivity ( in the period peak daily egg production can produce about 90 % of the total population in the cage ), feed intake slightly ( about 20 grams / head / day ), easily cultivated and does not require high investment. Quail can deliver results in the form of daily egg production, meat from culled quail ( quail that had stopped laying eggs or egg productivity plummeted start that after about 8 months old ), as well as produce manure that can be processed into organic fertilizer. Yard with an area of approximately 2 m2 can be used to maintain approximately 250 quail at a cost of approximately Rp.3,887,000. With the average cost of feed per month Rp.375,000, of the quail maintenance can provide net income from egg production per day on average Rp.11,500 and income from the sale of quail has not productived Rp.787,500. Based on the advantages of the quail and the results of the economic analysis showed that the cultivation from quail in the yard can provide family income and improve nutrition.   Key words : quail, yard, animal protein sources, income

Abstract

Vigor is defined as a condition where healthy seed, when planted directly germinate quickly in different condition or potential groups of seeds to germinate fast, simultaneous and uniform then held a rapid growth in the general condition of the field. Old Seed  will deteriorate. Symptom onset is only visible with a biochemical test or tress test. Continuing deterioration reduce the viability and vigor, even a poor crop performance though despite optimal environment. Experiments Paper Piercing Test is a test performed by germinating the seed vigor between the sand and filter paper. Germinated seed is old and new seed each totaled 50 seed to repeat 4 times, so there are 2 treatment on seed. Experiment Brick Gravel Test is a vigor test using shards of red brick as a medium for germination, with 2 soybean seed treatments, old and new, each amounting to 50 seeds with 4 replications. The results showed that: vigor testing showed that the higher seed vigor longer than the new seeds and media that generate the highest value for all parameters is brick gravel test, but the highest germination percentage achieved on paper piercing test. Key words : vigor, deterioration, brick gravel, paper piercing
