Abstract

The number of coffee shops in Jatinangor continues to grow, both on a small and large scale, often even meeting several coffee shops in one location close to the same scale of business with a menu list that is more or less the same. This situation triggers business competition among the actors. This condition occurred in 2 coffee shops in Jatinangor namely Belike Coffee Shop and Balad Coffee Works. This study aims to explore the performance, potential and constraints of coffee shop business in the Belike Coffee Shop and Balad Coffee Works. The research sites chosen were 2 coffee shops in Jatinangor namely Belike Coffee and Balad Coffee Works which were selected purposively because they were coffee shops with relatively the same business scale and were in the same / adjacent areas. The research design used was qualitative research. Data was collected through interviews with a number of key informants and literature studies. The results revealed that Belike Coffee Shop and Balad Coffee Works both have a number of unique potentials in terms of product, location, facilities, equipment, human resources and competition. While the constraints faced by both two coffee shops including the price of coffee raw materials that have surged will affect the selling price of coffee, noise, the absence of parking spaces for four wheels, equipment that cannot work properly and fluctuations in sales.

Abstract

Beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L) is one type of Indonesian vegetable which is classified into non-climacteric vegetables and is very popular, in its consumption generally processed into soup. Storage of fresh beans in polyethylene plastic bags (PE) in cold temperatures is expected to prevent damage to beans during the market. However, the quality of beans after harvest varies according to grade level (diameter size), these differences can each lead to different characteristics of beans. In this study, it will be studied how the characteristics of various levels of beans when stored in cold temperatures (approximately 10oC) for 7 days storage. The purpose of this study is to get the right grade of beans (diameter size) so that during cold storage, its characteristics can be maintained. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Food Technology at the Faculty of Agriculture, Ma’soem University. The bean varieties used are the local variety "Beunter Leuleus" from farmers in Lembang District, West Bandung Regency. Observation of the characteristics of water content, total dissolved solids, total acid content, color and texture of beans at various grade levels is done after the beans are stored for 7 days at cold temperatures (approximately 10oC). The results showed that beans with grade 0 (diameter ? 4.8mm) and grade 1 (diameter> 4.8 - 5.8) when stored in cold temperatures (10oC) for 7 days still had the preferred color and texture characteristics with water content ranged from 90.15- 90.38%, total dissolved solids were 8.70 obrix and total acid was 0.31%.

Abstract

Coconut sugar agro-industry is one of the important commodities as a reliable source of income. This study aims to determine: (1) Profitability and profitability of the coconut sugar agro-industry business; and (2) Opportunities for developing coconut sugar agro-industry in Sukanagara village, Lakbok District, Ciamis Regency. The method used is a survey method, by taking the case of farmers who coconut sugar business in the village of Sukanagara, Lakbok District, Ciamis Regency. The research location is Sukanagara village with consideration of the results of these studies can provide solutions to increase coconut sugar production capacity to be in harmony with other villages. Determination of farmer respondents was conducted by census of 31 farmers. Analysis tools to determine the profitability of coconut sugar agro-industry can be seen from the costs incurred and the revenue generated in the production process, while the development opportunities are seen from the income and level of employment. The results showed that: (1) The use of total costs (production costs) in the coconut sugar agro-industry in the production process was Rp. 78,264.57 and Rp. 101,100. (2) The opportunity for developing coconut sugar agro-industry in Desa Sukanagara village is quite promising because the coconut sugar agro-industry is able to generate a profit of 29.18 percent of the capital spent in one production process. In addition, employment in the coconut sugar agroindustry in Sukanagara Village is 2.47 percent of the village workforce, although the percentage is small, it has been able to contribute to employment in Sukanagara Village.

Abstract

Effervescent tablets are soft drink products that contain organic acids such as citric acid and sodium bicarbonate, which react quickly in water by releasing carbon dioxide. The purpose of this research is to increase the empowerment of coffee plants, namely Robusta coffee as a popular commodity, with Robusta coffee diversification into functional food products in the form of effervescent tablets. This study aims to determine whether there are variations in the concentration of maltodextrin and polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) on the physical characteristics of robusta coffee effervescent tablets. The method / design used in this study is a Randomized Group Design pattern with each factor of three levels with three replications with variations in the addition of maltodextrin (10%, 15%, 20%) and PVP (2%, 3 %, 4%). The results showed that the concentration of maltodextrin as a filler had an effect on the physical response, namely hardness, dissolution time and weight uniformity of effervescent tablets of robusta coffee. Concentration of polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) as a binder gives effect to the physical response, namely hardness and soluble time of effervescent tablets of robusta coffee. The interaction between maltodextrin concentration and polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) concentration influences the physical response, namely hardness and soluble time of effervescent tablets of Robusta coffee. Based on the results of the study, the best treatment was obtained at 15% maltodextrin concentration and 4% PVP concentration.

Abstract

One of the important things in bean farming is the use of superior seeds supported by the use of organic fertilizers with the right type and dosage so that the productivity of beans will be optimal. This study aims to study the interaction between types and doses of cow manure and chicken manure on the growth and yield of bean pods and to find out the optimum dose of manure fertilizer which has the most optimum effect on the production of bean varieties of Balitsa-2 (Phaseolus vulgaris). The study was carried out at the Lembang Vegetable Research Institute (BALITSA) by using a design of two different average factorial patterns with two factors and three replications and quadratic regression analysis with response surface models. The results of the study on each component of growth and yield of pod production showed significant differences from each treatment at d3 (15 tons / ha) and there was an interaction between the treatment and the dose given to the yield. The treatment of p1 (cow manure) and p2 (chicken manure) by dosing d3 (15 tons / ha) gave the most optimum results of fresh pods and was not significantly different, respectively 10,549 tons / ha and 10.726 tons / ha based on quadratic regression analysis. Thus, it is expected that bean farmers use superior bean seeds and fertilize organically both using chicken manure or cow manure at a dose of 15 tons / ha in order to obtain optimal bean production.
