Jurnal Penelitian Ilmu Ushuluddin (e-ISSN 2774-8340) is a peer-reviewed journal that is published by the Faculty of Ushuluddin UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. This Journal publishes current original research on religious studies and Islamic studies using an interdisciplinary perspective, especially within Islamic Theology (Ushuluddin) studies and its related teachings resources: Religious studies, Islamic thought, Islamic philosophy, Quranic studies, Hadith studies, and Islamic mysticism. Reviewers will review any submitted paper. The review process employs a double-blind review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa.

Abstract

This research examines the approach of liberal thinkers towards the history of Islam, focusing on the articles published on the online platform Islamlib.com. The research problem is formulated as follows: How do the historical articles on Islam, particularly in terms of content and thematic choices, manifest themselves on Islamlib.com. Additionally, what criticisms regarding the history of Islam are developed by Islamlib.com, encompassing sources, methodology, and approaches. The research employs the historiographical method, analyzing themes, methods, data sources, and approaches through content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that the historical articles on Islamlib.com are crafted within the framework of Islamic history as part of world history and total history. This research argues that the historiography of liberal thinkers has reached a sophisticated level. The articles explore a variety of themes related to Islam, embracing a comprehensive view that goes beyond conventional narratives. The historiographical critiques offered by Islamlib.com extend to source reliability, methodological choices, and the adopted approaches. The methodology used in this study, content analysis, facilitates a thorough examination of the themes, methods, sources, and approaches present in the historical articles. The liberal historiography demonstrated on Islamlib.com reveals a nuanced and advanced understanding of Islamic history. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on liberal perspectives in historiography, shedding light on the diverse themes and critical methodologies employed by liberal thinkers in shaping the narrative of Islamic history.

Abstract

In the academic environment, learning Islamic Studies gives rise to various polemics and debates. This research will discuss the thoughts of contemporary Muslim figure about Islamic Studies, Majid Daneshgar in his book "Studying the Qur'an in the Muslim Academy." By using descriptive-analytical research methods, the author attempts to explain descriptively what is behind Majid Daneshgar's thoughts on Islamic studies, then the author critically analyzes whether his thoughts are in accordance with the culture of Muslim academic Islamic studies in Indonesia? This research consists of primary and secondary data. Primary data was obtained from the opinions expressed by Daneshgar in his book "Studying the Qur'an in the Muslim Academy," while secondary data was obtained by looking at literature that discussed Majid Daneshgar's thoughts and Islamic Studies. From this research, the author concludes that the tradition of Islamic studies in the academic environment (especially in Indonesia) is not entirely Islamic Apologetics as stated by Majid Daneshgar.

Abstract

This article focuses on analyzing the portrayal of divorce in the Quran and the Bible. The researcher is intrigued by comparing these two sacred texts due to the similarities and differences in how they address divorce. In this study, the intertextuality theory by Julia Kristeva is employed as an analytical tool to examine the topic of divorce in both texts. The research findings indicate that the Sharia laws in the Quran appear proportional and comprehensive, suggesting that divorce can be a last resort if efforts to maintain the marriage are futile. On the other hand, in the Bible, the existing rules are unclear, and from the textual guiding verses, there is no concept of divorce at all. This creates an internal issue within the Christian community.

Abstract

The neglect of family as the primary educational environment for children is the root of many issues in the world of education. However, the influence of family on a child's character and education is significant. Disharmony is suspected as the cause of educational failure within families. Utilizing sociological, anthropological, and psychological approaches, this paper aims to explore the concept of education based on the idea of sakinah. Qualitative data collected through library research and analyzed through content analysis is used in this writing. It is found that education based on sakinah will reduce the likelihood of children experiencing trauma, which will have a significant impact on their future, both emotionally and intellectually.

Abstract

This research aims to discuss the stylistics of the Al-Qur'an, as well as provide an in-depth analysis of the poetry in Surah Al-'Asr and the effects it has on readers and listeners. Stylistics is very important for linguistic studies and literary studies. Stylistics can contribute to research on language style, which is the main element for achieving various forms of meaning in literary works, because literary works cannot be separated from the use of language style and beauty. The research method used in this research is the analytical descriptive method. After the required data is collected, the data will be elaborated with descriptive explanations. Sound harmony is realized in the form of consonant and vowel sounds. Overall, several verses in Surah al-'Asr end in rhyme with the vowel /i/. while the vowel sounds contained in several of the words of the poem are the vowel /a/ with a total of 3 letters, the vowel /u/ with a total of 1 letter, and the vowel /i/ with a total of 4. The harmony of these sounds can also be felt by listeners when al- When the Qur'an is listened to, the harmonious and beautiful sounds of course give rise to psychological aspects for the listeners who read the verses. Furthermore, the harmony of sound also has an effect on the meaning produced. So that harmonious sounds produce beautiful and harmonious meanings
