Abstract

Curly lettuce (Lactuca sativa L) is a horticultural plant that is in great demand by the public today and contains many nutrients and vitamins, including: Calcium, Phosphorus, Iron, Vitamins A, B and C. The negative effect of the green revolution lasting more than 30 years, one of the factors is the field of fertilization resulting in reduced ecosystems in the soil. Biocomplex biofertilizer is one alternative because it can help improve the ecosystem in the soil. This study aimed to study the effect of dosage and interval of application of biocomplex fertilizer on the growth and yield of curly lettuce. The design used was a factorial randomized block design  consisting of 2 factors. The first factor consists of a dose of biocomplex fertilizer (100 ml/polybag and 200 ml/polybag). The second factor consisted of the interval of application of biocomplex fertilizers (3 days before planting, 3 days before and 1 time after planting, 3 days before and 2 times after planting, 3 days before and 3 times after planting) and control. The results showed that there was a significant interaction on the total fresh weight parameter of plants (D2T4 = 88.25 grams) which showed better results than other treatments and controls. Treatment D2 (dose of 200 ml/polybag) gave optimal results at the economic weight of curly lettuce plants reaching 53.79 grams. The T4 treatment (4 times interval) of biocomplex fertilizer gave optimal results on the dry weight of curly lettuce plants reaching 6.40 grams

Abstract

Drought is a problem that is very influential in the field of agriculture, such as a decrease in food production which will disrupt food security and national economic stability. Rice plants are very sensitive to drought stress. The response of rice plants to drought stress is highly dependent on the severity of the drought, the growing phase of the drought, and the genotype. This study aims to determine the effect of drought stress on the yield of several varieties of glutinous rice. This research was conducted from October 2020 to March 2021 in green house Agriculture Faculty, University of Islam Malang, Dinoyo Village, Lowokwaru District, Malang City, East Java. Using a Divided Plot Design (RPT) compiled with a 4-factor Randomized Block Design (RAK). The first factor is the type of glutinous rice plant variety (V), which consists of 4 levels, namely: V1 = variety Grendel, V2 = variety Siem, V3 = variety Wuluh and V4 = variety Putri Pym 20.  While the second factor is drought which consists of 4 types, namely: C0 = no drought, C1 = drought 1 week after flowering, C2 = drought 2 week after flowering and C3 = drought 3 week after flowering. Statistical test of ANOVA analysis of variance and 5% BNT follow-up test. The results of analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that in general, the combination of glutinous rice varieties with drought did not interact with plant growth and yield parameters. However, at the parameters of panicle length there were interactions. Separately, the treatment of glutinous rice variety had a significant effect only on the parameters of plant growth and yield. Furthermore, the treatment of drought gave a significant effect on the parameter of stem water level. The best response was generally shown by the Putri Pym 20 variety of glutinous rice.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the interaction between the concentration of CaCl2 and the cultivation model on the growth and yield of kenikir (Cosmos caudatus Kunth.) plants. This research was conducted to determine the effect of increasing the concentration of CaCl2 and the cultivation model on the growth, yield, and quality of kenikir (Cosmos caudatus Kunth.) This research was conducted on Jl. Joyo Agung, Merjosari, Kec. Lowokwaru, Malang City and Central Laboratory, the Islamic University of Malang from February 2021 to April 2021. This study used a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 2 factors and was repeated 3 times. Observational data were analyzed using the 5% F test (ANOVA). If there is a significant effect, then further tests are carried out with BNJ (Honest Significant Difference) at 5% level and BNT (Least Significant Difference). Parameters observed were: plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, number of shoots, leaf length, leaf width, total fresh weight, economic weight, dry weight, root length, weight loss, vitamin C, total dissolved solids (TPT), water and chlorophyll content. The results showed that there was an interaction effect between the concentration of CaCl2 and the cultivation model on the number of leaves and root length. The 5% concentration of CaCl2 treatment showed high chlorophyll content and root length, pre-harvest CaCl2 administration did not affect the vegetative growth of kenikir plants. While the treatment of the cultivation model showed that the application of fertilizer was better than without fertilizer on plant growth and yield.

Abstract

Shallots are one of the superior vegetable commodities that have been continuously cultivated by farmers for a long time. The community's need for shallots will continue to increase along with the increase in population. This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of goat manure fertilizer at various doses and various types of NPK fertilizer composition on the growth and production of shallots. This study used a randomized block design (RAK) which was arranged in a factorial manner with 2 factors. Factor 1 uses a dose of manure, factor 2 uses a composition of NPK fertilizer with the same dose. The results showed that giving a dose of goat manure combined with NPK fertilizer composition could increase the growth and production of shallots both in height, number of leaves and leaf area, the best treatment was P1K3 treatment (Given with NPK fertilizer (12-11-20) 300 kg/ha given goat manure 15 tons/ha) with an average tuber weight of 9.65 tons/ha. The dose of goat manure 15 tons/ha can increase the production of shallots with an average tuber weight of 9.65 tons/ha. The application of NPK petro aristocratic fertilizer composition of 300 kg/ha can increase the production of shallots in the P1K3 treatment (Given with NPK fertilizer (12-11-20) 300 kg/ha given goat manure 15 tons/ha) with an average tuber weight of 9.65 tons/ha.

Abstract

Sweet potato is an alternative food that can be used for food and industry (flour, starch, and dye), especially the sukuh variety (white tubers) which has a high starch yield. The more limited urban land and the narrowness of the village land, there is a need for verticulture techniques. This study was conducted to determine how the growth and yield of sweet potato varieties of Sukuh on the effect of cropping patterns with verticulture techniques. This study used a single factor randomized block design with treatment as a group consisting of 7 treatments, namely cropping patterns (P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7). The results showed that the growth of the P1 cropping pattern had the highest value on the parameters of plant length, number of leaves and on yield parameters there was no significant effect because of high rainfall so that it inhibited the formation and growth of tubers. Keywords: Sweet Potatoes, Sukuh Varieties, Verticulture

Abstract

Lettuce is one type of vegetable that is used for its leaves or often referred to as leaf vegetables. Selda also has a high nutritional content. Production of red lettuce is also still not able to meet the demand. This study aims to determine the interaction between vermicompost residue and vermiwash application on the growth, yield and color pigmentation of red lettuce. This research was conducted at a plastic house on Jl. MT. Haryono, Dinoyo, Lowokwaru Malang District with an altitude of ± 550 meters above sea level, air temperature ranging from 20 oC - 35 oC, which was carried out from October 2020 - December 2020. The design used was a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with Control. Factor 1 residual dose of vermicompost with 3 levels, namely: V1 = 100 g/pot Vermicompost, V2 = 200 g/pot Vermicompost and V3 = 300 g/pot Vermicompost. Factor 2 Concentration of Vermiwash with 3 levels, namely: K1 = 200 ml/L Vermiwash, K2 = 400 ml/L Vermiwash and K3 = 600 ml/L Vermiwash. Each treatment was repeated 3 times with 4 samples and 1 treatment using AB Mix nutrition (control). From the research, it was found that the residual dose of vermicompost and the concentration of vermiwash had a significant effect on plant growth and yield, except for the variables of plant height, root fresh weight and root dry weight. In general, the best treatments were V2K3 (200 g/pot Vermicompost + 600 ml/L Vermiwash) and V3K1 (300 g/pot Vermicompost + 200 ml/L Vermiwash). In observing leaf color pigmentation, visual determination of leaf color showed differences between treatments and controls and between replicates. Differences that occur between treatments with controls and between replications can be caused by several things, including the nutritional content given and the lighting received.

Abstract

This research aims to find out growth and yield of shallots due to different concentrations and intervals of POC of fish offal, banana hump and rabbit urine. The design used is factorial RAK with control, the first factor is the type of concentration ( K1 = 15/100 ml of water, K2 = 30/100 ml of water, K3 = 45/100 ml of water) and the second factor is the time interval (I1 = every 7 days interval and I2 = every 14 days interval) and controls. The results of the study show POC administration of fish offal, banana weevil and rabbit urine on concentration and time intervals gave a good effect on plant growth in K1I2 treatment but was not significantly different from other treatments on plant length parameters, leaf area, and number of leaves. The administration of POC concentration showed that the K1 treatment showed good treatment but was not significantly different from the K2 treatment on the parameters of plant length, number of leaves, leaf area, and number of tubers where the number of tubers was equal to1 ton/ha. While giving a good time interval tends to treatment I2 parameters of plant length, number of leaves, and number of dry bulbs per clump.

Abstract

Nitrogen nutrients have an important role in the process of photosynthesis which functions as a form of leaf chlorophyll. Sufficient chlorophyll in plant leaves results in the photosynthesis process went well, so that the results can be translocated to the tuber. Potato development in the highlands have a problem of limited land area and quality seeds. The purpose of this study was to determine the response of ZA and Urea fertilizer application to the yield and quality of two potato plant varieties (Solanum tuberosum L.) and to obtain a source of N fertilizer and a potato variety (Solanum tuberosum L.) that gave high yields and quality. The experiment was conducted in Sumberejo Village – Batu City at an altitude of 690 masl. Factorial Randomized Block Design consisting of four treatments and six replications. Treatment of nitrogen sources and potato varieties were as follows: S1V1 (ZA fertilizer and Medians variety), S1V2 (ZA fertilizer and Atlantic variety), S2V1 (Urea fertilizer and Medians variety), and S2V2 (Urea fertilizer and Atlantic variety). The results showed that there was an interaction between the parameters of observing fresh weight of tan-1 tuber, fresh weight of tuber ha-1, tuber grade > 60 grams, and vitamin C. The combination of ZA fertilizer treatment and Medians variety gave better potato crop yields with fresh weight of tan-1 of 710.88 grams and fresh weight ha-1 of 37.51 tons. Sources of Urea fertilizer and Medians varieties provide better potato crop quality

Abstract

The latest technology that is very dominant in increasing plant productivity is the use of superior varieties. In addition, fertilization is also a determining factor for plant productivity. NASA liquid organic fertilizer (POC) is applied through the leaves and is able to increase the growth and yield of glutinous rice plants. This study aims to determine the response to growth and yield of glutinous rice plants due to the addition of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) NASA at different dose levels with two kinds of glutinous rice varieties and their combinations. This research was conducted from October 2020 to March 2021 in Dermo Hamlet, Mulyoagung Village, Dau District, Malang City. Using a Divided Plot Design (RPT) compiled with a 2-factor Randomized Block Design (RAK). The first factor is the dose of Nasa Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) (D), which consists of 3 levels, namely: d1 = 1 ml L-1, d2 = 3 ml L-1 and d3 = 5 ml L-1. While the second factor is the type of glutinous rice plant variety (V) which consists of 2 types, namely: v1 = Grendel variety and v2 = Lusi variety. Statistical test of ANOVA analysis of variance and 5% BNJ follow-up test. The results of analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that in general, the combination of NASA POC dose treatment with glutinous rice varieties did not interact with plant growth and yield parameters. However, at the parameters of leaf area at 21 DAP, stem diameter at 49 DAP and the number of panicles per clump there were interactions. Separately, the NASA POC dose treatment had a significant effect only on the milk maturity parameter. Furthermore, the treatment of glutinous rice varieties gave a significant effect on the parameters of plant growth and yield. The best response was generally shown by the Lusi variety of glutinous rice.

Abstract

The agronomic character is closely related to the main objective of increasing glutinous rice production with yield and yield components.  Therefore, it is necessary to identify and describe the agronomic of 16 kinds of glutinous rice varieties.  This study aims to obtain descriptive data on the agronomic characters of 16 varieties of glutinous rice in rice fields in the medium plains.  The design used was a factorial randomized design (RAK).  The treatments were 16 kinds of glutinous rice varieties, repeated 3 times so that the total experimental units were 54 units.  Each experimental unit contained 16 clumps and four plants were taken as samples of 16 varieties of treatment plants.  The results showed that the 16 varieties of glutinous rice had an effect on plant growth and yield.  The observed growth parameters were the number of leaves and leaf area, while the yield parameters observed were the number of panicles and dry grain weight per hectare.  For good growth, namely in V2 (Lusi Jember variety) and low growth in V12 (PYM.20 West female variety).  Meanwhile, the harvest parameters were good in V1 and V2 (lokbon 1 black variety and lusi jember variety) and low yields at V11 (wuluh Hitam parang bhanyakan variety).
