Abstract

One of the most popular freshwater fish species to farm, both domestically and internationally, is the koi fish (Cyprinus Rubrofuscus). However, koi fish farming is often attacked by bacterial diseases caused by the Aeromonas hyrophila bacterium, so it becomes a concern because this bacterium can cause death in koi fish. Papaya leaves were chosen as an alternative medicine in the treatment of koi fish infected with bacteria, considering that papaya leaves contain many compounds that are antibacterial and have no side effects when used. As for this study, the papaya leaves used were young papaya leaves which were extracted using the maceration method. This study was aimed to determine the effectiveness in treating koi fish infected with bacteria and what concentration of papaya leaf extract is effective as an antibacterial to treat koi fish seeds that are attacked by Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria. Papaya leaf extract was administered at different concentrations, namely 0 ml (control), 5 ml, 10 ml, 15 ml within 30 days before and after the koi fish seeds were attacked by Aeromonas hydrophila. The result revealed that papaya leaf extract has effectiveness as an antibacterial which can slow down the growth of Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria at a concentration of 15 ml with a survival rate of 95%. Therefore, the dose of papaya leaf extract is directly proportional to its effectiveness as an antibacterial. In other words, the greater the dose of papaya leaf extract, the more effective it will be in treating koi fish seeds that are infected with bacteria.

Abstract

Tilapia nuggets are an instant food with high protein and mineral content. Adding tapioca flour to the nuggets increases gel rigidity when cooling, making the texture harder. However, to optimize the nutritional value and texture of tilapia nuggets, seaweed can be added. This study aimed to determine the best formulation for tilapia nuggets that meet SNI 7758 quality standards. Research methods included observation, literature study, questionnaire, and experiment. The results show that substituting Eucheuma Cottonii seaweed for tapioca flour significantly improved sensory, physical, and chemical test parameters. The best formulation, N1, with an effectiveness index value of 77.1, met the quality standards of SNI 7758. It received an appearance score of 7.73, odor score of 7.40, taste score of 7.73, texture score of 7.33, texture hardness of 666 gr, water content of 59.95%, ash content of 2.31%, protein content of 13.94%, and fat content of 0.76%. Therefore, adding seaweed to the formulation of tilapia nuggets can enhance their nutritional value and texture.

Abstract

Plantain peels are an underutilized waste product that is often discarded without being processed, resulting in an unpleasant odor in the surrounding environment. However, plantain peels are rich in nutrients that can benefit plant growth, making them a potential ingredient in liquid organic fertilizers. This study aimed to investigate the growth response of pakcoy plants when treated with POC (plantain peel organic fertilizer). A complete randomized design (CRD) was used with five treatments and four replications in each treatment, including a control group (N0) and four POC treatments (N1-N4) with varying concentrations (50-125 ml). The results showed that plantain peel POC had a significant effect on plant height growth, number of leaves, and fresh weight in the N4 treatment, which had the highest concentration of 125 ml plantain peel POC.

Abstract

Betel leaf has a long history of use in traditional medicine due to its natural antibacterial properties. This study focuses on the antibacterial effects of betel leaf (Piper betle) extract, particularly against Aeromonas hydrophila infections in koi fish. The research employs an experimental approach using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatment groups, each repeated twice. The treatments consist of: a control group (Treatment K) without betel leaf extract, Treatment A with 5 ml of betel leaf extract, Treatment B with 10 ml of betel leaf extract, and Treatment C with 15 ml of betel leaf extract. The results of the study demonstrate the significant efficacy of betel leaf extract in promoting the healing of Aeromonas hydrophila-infected fish. This is evident from observations of reduced wound diameter in fish treated with betel leaf extract. In Treatment A (5 ml dose), noticeable wound diameter reduction begins in the fourth week. Treatment B (10 ml dose) shows similar progress with visible healing in the third week. Treatment C (15 ml dose) exhibits the most promising results, with wound diameter reduction or fading evident as early as the second week. Survival rates are recorded as follows: Treatment K – 50%, Treatment A – 65%, Treatment B – 75%, and Treatment C – 90%. These findings underscore the potential of betel leaf extract as an effective antibacterial remedy in combating Aeromonas hydrophila infections in koi fish.

Abstract

Indonesia's potential solar panel renewable energy capacity is 207.8 GW, currently only 0.135 GW has been realized or 0.02% has only been achieved. The development is still very broad and far ahead. The best place for a PLTS (Solar Power Plant) location is in the dam area. Why? The dam has a very large area and is owned by the government. This paper investigates the comparison of the cost and time of implementing PLTS foundation construction at the location of the Dam Slope (Landed) and on the Surface of the Dam Water Body (Floating). The research was conducted based on a case study of the application of PLTS in the Jatibarang Dam. Where in 2017 the construction of PLTS has been realized at the location of the Dam Slope. The PLTS Floating model was developed with a design simulation based on real data at the same dam location. The cost and time indicators for both Landed and Floating foundation models are then calculated and compared. From the analysis results, in terms of costs, the application of the PLTS Floating foundation is 41% higher than the foundation on the slopes. But in time 31% faster than the Slope foundation. By knowing the cost and time comparison between the two PLTS laying models, the aim is to design a PLTS development strategy for the Dam area based on the most optimal considerations.
