Abstract

Sensors that are able to identify the type of gas are needed in the industry. One of them is a Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) sensor which can produce a constant resonance frequency. In this study, we intend to determine the sensitivity of the QCM gas sensors which are coated with different polymers. QCM gas Covered with polymer sensor based QCM aim to increase the sensors ability to absorb molecules on the surface of the QCM sensor. The sensor array coated with different polymer materials will produce different frequency response output patterns for each type of gas identified. The test results showed that the QCM sensor coated with OV 17 polymer material was more sensitive by producing sensitivity of 8.4 Hz /ml alcohol, 9.96 Hz /ml 2-propanol, 35.88 Hz /ml acetone, 39.64 Hz /ml benzene.

Abstract

The development of Hydroulic Regenerative Shock Absorber starts with presenting theories that work, and simulates them with numerical computing software to becompare with conventional shock absorber systems. The generation energy of the regenerative suspension system is only effective for high amplitude. When the amplitude is low, the generation energy will decrease as a result of bidirectional rotation and inertial losses. The greater the generator rotation, the higher current, and power generation. In the HMERSA fluid flow simulation 1 input and single output using the Fluid SIM software. the input given is 3 Hz on the hydraulic cylinder that is on the 4-wheel vehicle. The simulation was done by changing the hydraulic circuit and adding a check valve mechanism so that the rotation of the hydraulic motor becomes unidirectional. In this simulation there is no generator component because in the Fluidsim software does not provide these components in the simulation. The simulation using the Fluidsim software is intended to find out whether the hydraulic circuit that has been designed runs well marked by the rotation of the one-way hydraulic motor rotation. The design design of HMERSA with 1 input 1 output can run well marked from the rotation of the hydraulic motor into one direction when the conditions are expansion or compression. The torque value that occurs during an expansion condition is 1.1 Nm, while for the torque value that occurs when the compression condition is 1.6 Nm. The power generated from the hydraulic motor when the expansion condition is 1.6 Watt. Whereas when the compression condition of the power of the hydraulic motor that can be produced is 4 Watt.

Abstract

Modeling wind speed variations is a very important requirement in determining energy potential to find out typical winds speed in an area. Data obtained from the average wind speed in Banda Aceh City of Aceh Province were correlated from NASA Data Access (Prediction of Worldwide Energy Resource) for 1 (one) year. Wind speed data is analyzed statistically to determine the potential of wind energy as a small scale power plant, which is grouped on an annual basis. Wind power distribution is obtained by the Rayleigh distribution function method, with the aim of predicting wind energy produced as a wealth study for designing small-scale wind turbine power plants. The calculation results show that by using the annual clustering Rayleigh function method, cumulative distribution and probability density functions will be obtained. The available power from the winds of the Banda Aceh region for 1.4 m2 turbines sweapt area with an average wind speed of 4.4 m/s produces an energy potential of around 237.9 kW-hrs per year. The Rayleigh function of this distribution uses estimated parameters, which are expected to provide a more accurate prediction of the average energy produced for a region. The annual variations in wind speed and power density functions described in this article are very useful to ensure that the generator is selected and determined appropriately, so that an optimal wind turbine power plant will be obtained.

Abstract

This study presents capacitor installation to reduced losses line, moreover improve voltage profile and power factor improvement. Capacitor optimization installed using modified backward forward sweep with the result that installation point and capacity appropriate. The modified backward-forward sweep have been tested on 15 BUS Kota Calang 20 kV feeder distribution, Aceh Barat. Initial simulation of feeder was result 0,85 kW line losses with 19,9753 minimum voltage. After capacitor installation on BUS 4, BUS 6, BUS 8 and BUS 13, the minimum losses line is reduced to 0,66 kW.

Abstract

A fews points to get high quality of asphalt concrete are mixing, casting, compacting, and curin. The other things are supporting of matters such as form-work. The curing will being as step to do the asphalt concrete , developing them to be perfect hardly. The process of curing are maintanance of humadity , temperature, surface at asphalt concrete and time line periode. The research done past time, the more do the maintanace periodely increasing to be more higher pressure value , and the others things of it (Yurmansyah Indra, 2001). So, the researcher had done with many variaties of comparing each others of them. We have got the difference power of the maximum asphalt concrete . Likes ; do the maintanance by watering wet 3 times in a day BU5) = 195,28 kg/cm2,by the wet burlap3 times in a day (BU4) = 188, 33 kg/cm2. With wet on water ,2 - twice in a day (BU3) = 181,11 kg/cm2. Without do the maintanaance , (BU2) = 165, 56 kg.cm2. by nature , (BU1) = 152,27 kg/cm2. Those meaning are the average-power of higher pressure asphalt concrete with or witout maintaning are 15 – 16 % as the conclusions.

Abstract

The boiler has been shown performance from a number of the transfer convension on energy to product gasses. The type of Fulton 30E, with analyizing capasitively on the 4,5,6,7 and 8 of the gasses quality. The analyzing which is operating the type of Fulton 30E boiler on testing in the Energy Laboratorium Engineering.at the Polytechnic of State Medan. The high pressure will being increasing higher eficiency of boiler’s gasses on 278.65 kg/m and 65,6 %. The conclusion boiler performance are must be maximum of higher pressure conditions.To increasing eficiency had to do the analyzing loses and designing heat recovery of it.
