Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder brought on by insufficient insulin production by the pancreas or inefficient insulin utilization by the organism. This study determines the effectivity between cinnamon infusion and lemongrass stew in reducing blood glucose levels in diabetes mellitus patients. Method: This study uses a design pra-experimental by method two-group pre-post design. The sample of this study were diabetics who were willing to be respondents as many as 20 people. The dependent variable is blood glucose levels, the independent variables are lemongrass stew and cinnamon infusion. The instrument used is the observation sheet. Result & Analysis: test results for lemongrass stew with cinnamon infusion were obtained in treatment group 1 (p = 0.502) and treatment group 2 (p = 0.730) where α > 0.05, meaning that statistically there was no difference in blood glucose levels reduction between treatment groups 1 (lemongrass) and treatment group 2 (cinnamon). Discussion: There was no difference in reducing blood glucose levels between treatment group 1 (lemongrass) and treatment group 2 (cinnamon).

Abstract

Introduction. The Professional Nursing Care Model (hereinafter abbreviated as MAKP) is a system (structure, processes, and values) that allows professional nurses to manage the provision of nursing care including the environment to support the provision of such care. Good nursing services are services that include comprehensive nursing care services and in the provision of nursing care, there are things that support the success of providing services, one of which is MAKP. This study aims to determine the relationship of nursing care models to the performance of nursing services. Method. The literature study method used secondary data from previous research results which are published journals, which are in accordance with the criteria set by the research, namely by having systematic inclusion and exclusion criteria and searching using the Online Database. Result&Analysis. It is found two articles that explain the relationship between the application of the nursing care model team and the job satisfaction of nurses. It is found three articles that explain the relationship between the application of the nursing care model team and the performance of nursing services. Discussion. There is an influence of the professional nursing care model (MAKP) team on the performance of nursing services.

Abstract

Introduction. Hypertension is still a big challenge in Indonesia. Hypertension is a condition that is often found in health services. The urgency of this research is the large number of hypertension patients at the Ngoresan Health Center, Surakarta and has increased almost every year. The objective problem in this study is that the number of patients with hypertension increases from year to year, so research is needed on the relationship of knowledge, attitudes and family support with efforts to control hypertension. The importance of this research is as an effort to control hypertension which continues to increase from year to year by means of a questionnaire interviews and distribution of brochures/pamphlets with the aim of approaching the community. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence efforts to control hypertension in patients at the Ngoresan Health Center, Surakarta. Method. The stages of achievement in this study are for the approach used in this study, namely cross sectional. The sample in this study amounted to 86 respondents. Sampling technique with accidental sampling method based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The statistical test used is Chi-Square with (α=0.05). Result and Analysis. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between knowledge and efforts to control hypertension in the elderly with a p-value = 0.003 (<α=0.05), there is a relationship between attitudes and efforts to control hypertension in the elderly with a p-value = 0.011 ( <α=0.05) and there is a relationship between family support and efforts to control hypertension in the elderly with a p-value = 0.034 (<α=0.05). Discussion. There is a relationship between knowledge, attitudes and family support with efforts to control hypertension.

Abstract

Introduction. Caesarean method widely used and become popular among pregnant women. In general, this method mostly used regional anesthesia (spinal, epidural and CSE). However, many reports incidence of complication related to spinal anesthesia after the procedure. Maternal hypotension is the most common complication after spinal anesthesia procedure. Therefore, anesthesiologist need to prevent hypotension during spinal anesthesia in caesarean section. Method. The researcher examines several scientific journals from PubMed, BJA, Elsevier, Cochrane Library and BMC research until 10th August, 2023 for abstracts, conference proceedings, and full-text papers that evaluated prevention of hypotension in non-preeclampsia patients undergoing caesarean delivery under spinal anesthesia. In addition, the researchers examine the research conducted during 2016 to 2023. Result & Analysis. The researchers examine 28 scientific article (11.153 parturient) with 6 different methods to prevent hypotension.  It was found that vasopressor is widely used in most research with incidence of hypotension varied from 4%-87,4%. IVCU studies reported the incidence of hypotension in 15,3%-43%. Leg Elevation a non-invasive technique studies reported the incidence of hypotension in 33,3-41,4%. Injection speed adjustment methods resulted incidence of hypotension in Fast injection 50 %-75% and Slow Injection in 36,7%-61%. In addition, granisetron methods diluted in normal saline reported the incidence of hypotension in 17,5%-42%. Low dose spinal anesthesia studies reported incidence of hypotension in 0% - 62,9%. Discussion. From all the research that has been reviewed, vasopressor (Phenylephrine), Leg Elevation and low dose spinal anesthesia could become primary options to prevent hypotension during spinal anesthesia in caesarean section since its effective to prevent hypotension, cost effective, and easy to applied in every medical facility.

Abstract

Introduction. Hypertension becomes very dangerous when the patient cannot control blood pressure, because it will cause complications. One of the nonpharmacological therapies that can be done is foot hydrotherapy using warm red ginger decoction and slow deep breathing. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the combination of red ginger foot hydrotherapy and slow deep breathing on blood pressure in patients with hypertension. Method. Pre-experimental research design with one group pre-test post-test design approach with a sample of 20 people. Total sampling technique. Observation sheet measuring instrument and sphygmomanometer with Wilcoxon statistical test. Result & Analysis. The results of the study obtained blood pressure values before the intervention and found that all respondents had blood pressure in the category of hypertension stage 2 (100%) and after the intervention found 55% in the elevated category and stage 1 hypertension as much as 45%. The results of the static test p-value = 0.000, which shows the effect of the Red Ginger Foot Hydrotherapy combination of Slow Deep Breathing on the blood pressure of hypertensive patients. Discussion. Doing red ginger foot hydrotherapy in combination with slow deep breathing can control blood pressure, but must be supported to consume drugs regularly, exercise, carrying out a diet, and avoiding stress.
