Journal of Classroom Action Research (JCAR) first launching is published in Febrary 2022 by a professional organization, founded by English Lecturers and Teachers Association (ELTA) Medan- Indonesia Journal of Classroom Action Research (JCAR) is a double blind peer review journal, published twice a year ,publish in March, and August .This Journal is legally and formally is formed by the letter of the leader of ELTA Medan- Indonesia Decree no : 08-/Elta/2/VII/2021, dated at 2st June 2021. It presents articles on the research of English language Teaching , specifically in class Action Research which is mostly done by teachers, as a requirement to elevate their level. JCAR also written by ELTAs member, ELTAs sympathizers and other researchers Journal of Class Action Research (JCAR) principals aim is to help English Lecturers and Teachers to publish disseminate theory, research result of English Language Teaching research, reviews by the academic community of ELTAs, reviews by other linguist in Indonesia or abroad, and to provide a channel for discussion. Abstract

This study is based on the important of vocabulary. Vocabulary is an important component of language use because Vocabulary is one of the aspects of language besides grammar and pronunciation. In this research, the researcher using Audio-Lingual Method to improve students’ mastery vocabulary. The main objective of this study is to describe the use of Audio-Lingual Method in teaching and to identify how much students’ mastery in vocabulary improvement after being taught by using Audio-Lingual Method. This study is classroom action research that was done in two cycles. The data collection was done using observation and test. The data from the observation that had been taken from every cycle analyzed descriptively while the data from test were analyzed quantitatively. The use of Audio - Lingual Method in teaching at class VIII - 2 Students of SMP Negeri 4 Pematangsiantar was conducted in two cycles including cycle one and cycle two. The participant of this study was 32. The result of this study shows that using Audio-Lingual Method can improve students’ mastery vocabulary. This is proven by students’ test score that improved in every cycle. In the first cycle, the students’ average score was 60,00 and in the second cycle students got 68,90 and the Post cycle 76,56. Audio-Lingual Method is an appropriate technique used to improve students’ mastery vocabulary. Abstract

This study is aimed at improving the students’ vocabulary achievement through anagram. This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of this study was the 2009/2010 ten grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Pancur Batu which consisted of 30 students. For collecting data, the instrument used quantitative data (vocabulary test) and qualitative data (diary notes, interview sheet and observation sheet). Based on the data, it was found that the students’ score increased from the pre test until the post test of the first and the second cycle. In the pre test, the mean of the students was (54,93), in the post test of the first cycle was (68) and the mean of the students of the second cycle was (82,46). The students’ score also increased from pre test to post test cycle I until post test cycle II. It was found that teaching vocabulary through anagram can improve the students’ vocabulary achievement. It is concluded that teaching vocabulary through anagram is significantly effective in teaching vocabulary. Keywords: Classroom Action Research, Vocabulary Achievement, Anagram

Abstract

This research deals with the improving students’ reading comprehension achievement on persuasive text through storytelling. This research is aimed to find out the improvement of the students’ reading comprehension achievement on persuasive text if teaching by applying storytelling. The design of the research is conducted by using action research method. It was done through planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of this research is the 2013/2014 students of the Grade XI of SMA Swa Bina Karya Medan. This research applies quantitative and qualitative method. Quantitative data are taken from the students' reading comprehension test. Qualitative data are taken from diary notes, interview, and observation. The result of the research shows that there is improvement of students’ reading comprehension on persuasive text through storytelling. Abstract

This study is about improving writing recount text by using topical approach. This objective of this research is to find out whether the use of topical approach improves the students’ skill in writing recount text or not. The subject of this study was one class of the grade. Ten students of SMPN 28 Medan Johor which consisted of 30 students. The action research was conducted of july 2018. The quantitative data were taken from writing test as the instrument to find out students score. The qualitative data were taken from observation sheet, questionnaire, interview and diary notes and obseervation sheet describe the improvement of students’ skill in writing recount text was mostly improved in every test. The observation sheet and diary notes showed that the students were interested in the teaching learning process. These finding show thatthere was an improvement on the students’skill in writing recount text by using topical approach that was supported by the result, the mean score post test cycle I (75, 06) was better than mean score pre test ( 57, 43) and the mean score of post test cycle II ( 82, 03) was better than the mean score of post test cycle I. There were also positive changes in students’ behavior in learning English. During the action, the students paidgood participation to the lesson. The students were more active in joining the processof teaching and learning. Therefore, it canbe concluded that topical approach can improve the students’ skill in writing recount text. Abstract

This study aims at improving students’ descriptive paragraph writing through STAD(Student Team Achievement Division) technique. In this study the writer conducted classroom action research. The subject of the research was 40 students of grade X SMA Negeri 1 PEGAJAHAN. Districts of Pegajahan Serdang Bedagai. There are four parallel classes that consist 40 students each class. The instruments for collecting data were writing test for quantitative data, qualitative data and questionnaire sheet,. The instrument for collecting the quantitative data was writing test while the qualitative data were gathered through the interview, diary notes and observation sheet. The qualitative data showed that the students were not interested in descriptive text. Based on the students’ scores of class x-1 taken by the English teacher for twice, it was gained that only 40% and 42% of students achieve .The minimum Completeness Criteria in writing. More than 50% of students are not able to get it.It means the ability of students is low. In this school students must achieve 70 in order to get in English subject. After having been analysed , the result of the study denotes that the students’ achievement constantly improved significantly. In conclusion, the application of Student Team Achievement Division technique can improve the students’ achievement in writing descriptive text. Keywords: Classroom Action Research Descriptive. Abstract

Language learning is very important for human’s social development. As a language which is used by more than a half of population in the world, English hold the key as international language. English is a tool of communication among peoples of the world to get trade, social-cultural, science, and technology goals. Moreover, English competence is important in career development, therefore students need to understand and use English to improve their confidence to face global competition. The purpose of teaching writing is to value and improve the skills of writing from the students. The population of this research will be 2014/2015of the eight year students of SMP Al Maksum Stabat. It consist of 30 students, 16 boys and 14 girl. Their age about 14-16 years old. Because the total of the students is less than 100, it is better to take the population as a sample. There are significant differences before and after the students get treatment. For the 30 students, 21 students get the result more than 75 point. It means that 80 percent of the students get more ability in writing after get the treatment. Keywords: writing skill, worksheet
