Journal of Classroom Action Research (JCAR) first launching is published in Febrary 2022 by a professional organization, founded by English Lecturers and Teachers Association (ELTA) Medan- Indonesia Journal of Classroom Action Research (JCAR) is a double blind peer review journal, published twice a year ,publish in March, and August .This Journal is legally and formally is formed by the letter of the leader of ELTA Medan- Indonesia Decree no : 08-/Elta/2/VII/2021, dated at 2st June 2021. It presents articles on the research of English language Teaching , specifically in class Action Research which is mostly done by teachers, as a requirement to elevate their level. JCAR also written by ELTAs member, ELTAs sympathizers and other researchers Journal of Class Action Research (JCAR) principals aim is to help English Lecturers and Teachers to publish disseminate theory, research result of English Language Teaching research, reviews by the academic community of ELTAs, reviews by other linguist in Indonesia or abroad, and to provide a channel for discussion. Abstract

A Song lyrics as a part of literary works is basically an art of language use. Song lyrics can be used by musicians to express their ideas, thoughts, feelings and emotions in the form of artistic words. The object of this research is a song lyric by a famous musician, namely Rizki Rahmahadian Pamungkas or better known by the stage name Pamungkas. Pamungkas is a singer, songwriter and also known as a music producer and have their music producer company namely maspam records that produce other great musician like; Oslo Ibrahim, Prince Husein and Morad. Pamungkas born in Jakarta 14th April 1993 known to be great musician who already has 4th albums and one rearrangement album such; Walk the Talk, Flying Solo, Solipsism 0.1, Solipsism 0.2 and the one that was recently released is birdy. One of his famous song was Queen of the heart that will be the object in this research which searching of connotative and denotative. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods and theory uses in this research is semiotics theory of Roland Barthes which is focused on a denotative and connotative meaning in Queen of the Hearts song. The result of this research show that several denotative and connotative meaning in Queen of the Hearts song like, “queen of the heart” queen, means and independent women ruled something that mentioned in this song which is heart. Because of that reasons, the researcher interested researching connotative meaning in Pamungkas’ song lyrics. Keywords: Denotative. Connotative. Pamungkas. Semiotics

Abstract

To master vocabulary is influenced by many factors, many techniques and strategies such as playing scrabble, memorize new vocabulary by English song and word webbing technique also can be a way to master and memorize vocabulary. In this research, the researcher limits the study on the technique.    Word webbing technique is a way to help the students to think more creative to associate idea or words more easily. Word webbing approach is a way to assist the students of university to think greater innovative to companion thought or phrases more easily. Word webbing is a notion mapping of words, which is, normal through ability of webs and links. Word webbing is a approach that can be used to expand thinking or words. This method is beneficial for the students of university who favor or like to make higher their ideas or words, specially in getting to understand vocabulary. The goals of this research are  to understand if the students’ success in vocabulary can be accelerated through the application of phrase webbing approach or not. The research was once carried out only in one class with two cycles.  The archives have been taken from the first 12 months MTs Muhammadiyah 15  Medan. The real variety of the  students in the category used to be 27 students. The finding of the research is that Word Webbing Technique can help the students improve their vocabulary achievement. By making use of this Word Webbing Technique, the ranking of the students in vocabulary saved increasing from the pre- test until the post- test  seem to be at in each cycle. It was once proved through the use of the data which validated that the mean of the  students in the post- test  II (77.0) was higher than the post I (70.4) and additionally higher than pre- test (51.5).    Keywords : word webbing technique, vocabulary

Abstract

The purpose of this study were to identify the types of errors made by tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Pura in the use of personal pronouns in writing descriptive text, as well as the reasons for these errors. A purposive sampling technique was used to select the respondents. There were 36 students of grade X of MIA 1 were taken as samples. This study employed a descriptive methodology. The researcher administered a written test requiring students to compose descriptive texts about a person to collect the data. As research participants were students in the tenth grade will be administered the examination. The purpose is to identify errors made by students. It is also necessary to know what types of errors students make. The data analysis revealed that the tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Tanjung Pura made the following quantifier errors when writing descriptive texts: omission, additional, misformation, and misordering. The majority of errors were omission errors with a value of 36.84%, followed by addition errors with a value of 84 or 20.74%, misformation errors with a percentage of 32.10%, and misordering errors with a value of 43 or 10.62%. Based on the results of the questionnaire, it was determined that the student's lack of motivation to learn was largely attributable to their difficulties with reading, writing, and comprehension, especially in terms of applying what they learn to real-world situations. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study used a hybrid methodology that combined quantitative and qualitative techniques. This study aimed to find out whether Total Physical Response (TPR) method significantly affects the students' vocabulary for second graders of MTs TPI Sawit Seberang. There were two classes were chosen as the sample of this study where class VIII B was the experimental group and VIII A was the control group which consists of 25 students in each group. A quasi-experimental design was employed by giving pre-test and post-tests to the two groups (control and experiment) where the treatment using TPR method was given to the experimental group, while the control group was taught by the traditional method. The results of this study showed that the significance score was 0,000 which means < 0.05. It means that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. It can be concluded that Total Physical Response (TPR) method significantly affects the students' vocabulary mastery of second graders of MTs TPI Sawit Seberang. The results of observational research also showed that the assessment of this method's benefits in lowering pressure and stress for students. The Data from field notes revealed that students happily engaged in the class activity without experiencing any stress. Keyword: TPR Method, Vocabulary Mastery

Abstract

This study entitled Grammatical Error in Writing Narative Text at SMP Negeri 1 Secanggang, is an attempt to identify, classify, and analyze the types of errors in narrative composition produced by students of SMP Negeri 1 Secanggang. This research contributes to the understanding of error analysis, especially narrative composition errors. Ellis's theory was used to analyze errors in students' narrative composition. Data were taken from 34 students of class XI SMP Negeri 1 Secanggang by asking them to write a narrative essay at home on a piece of paper about their experiences when they were on vacation. The results of this study indicate that there are three kinds of errors made by students; they are negligence, misinformation, and misordering. Keyword: Narrative Text, Error, Grammatical
