Journal of Language Development and Linguistics (JLDL) is a quarterly, double-blind peer reviewed journal which publishes original research papers in the field of language development and Linguistics. Studies which take a descriptive approach to the nature of language acquisition and development are also welcome. Journal JLDL publishes articles in February and September.

Abstract

The causative construction of the Simalungun language can be produced by combining clauses with cause / baen conjunctions, the use of causative analytic with permanent verbs, all; morphological causative use with (–kon) affixes; and the selection of certain lexical causative verbs that have causative meaning. The method used is the marking method applied in analyzing research data based on the problems discussed in this article. This causative construction of Simalungun Batak language can be explained through morphosyntax parameters.

Abstract

常高俊April is one of the information dissemination accounts that contains a lot of deixis on Weibo. With the different contexts and situations of the author and reader, the meaning of deixis is also different. This study aims to find out the types and the meaning of deixis contained in 常高俊April account uploads. This study used qualitative descriptive methods with data in the form of words contained in 常高俊April account uploads. The results of this study showed that there are five types of deixis in 常高俊April account uploads, namely persona deixis, place deixis, time deixis, social deixis and discourse deixis. In addition, this study shows that the meaning of words whose references change can be known by paying attention to the context of speech.

Abstract

This thesis is entitled "The Old Village of Bius Tipang, Baktiraja District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency: Anthropology Studies". This study aims to describe Horja and Bius, 1) the form of the Bius Tipang village, the social values and norms that exist in the Bius Tipang Old Village. The method used in this research is the qualitative method. The results obtained from this study, namely the anthropological values that exist in the old village of Bius Tipang are: (1) The community believes that there is a fence that protects them from harm or evil intentions. (2) the existence of bamboo which has the power which is believed to be the guardian of the village.

Abstract

This study discusses the preservation of the Toba Batak language in Narumonda VII Village, Siantar Narumonda District, Toba Regency. The problem studied is the preservation of the Toba Batak language in Narumonda VII Village based on its bilingual pattern and the attitude of the Toba ethnic community in maintaining their language. The background of this research is to see the role of the use of the Toba Batak language as a regional language and Indonesian as the national language in an area where the majority of the population is Toba Batak ethnicity.The method used in collecting data is the conversational method to-face and followed by the note-taking technique. Data was obtained by distributing questionnaires to respondents. This research data assessment method uses quantitative methods. The data were analyzed using sociolinguistic theory. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the pattern of using the Toba Batak language at the age of over 20 years (adults) is still high compared to the use of the Toba Batak language at the age of under 20 years. At the age of 20 years and over, Toba Batak language users showed positive language attitudes (85%), while those under 20 years old showed negative language attitudes (10.5%).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nama dan bentuk ornamen yang ada pada bagas godang, fungsi dan maknanya, juga mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah teori kearifan lokal yang diungkap Sibarani (2012). Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan hasil pendeskripsian yang dapat penulis simpulkan adapun hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) terdapat 58 bentuk ornamen yang ditemukan, (2) terdapat 58 fungsi dan makna yang terkandung dalam ornamen yang ditemukan, (3) terdapat dua jenis kearfan lokal dalam ornamen bagas godang yaitu: kearifan lokal kedamaian dan kesejahteraan. Dalam kedua jenis kearifan lokal tersebut ada 15 nilai kearfan lokal yang terkandung yakni: kesopansantunan, kejujuran, kesetiakawanan sosial, kerukunan dan penyelesaian konflik, komitmen, pikiran positif, rasa syukur, kerja keras, disiplin, pendidikan, kesehatan, gotong royong, pengelolaan gender, pelestarian dan kreativitas budaya dan peduli lingkungan.
