Abstract

Although Fiqih instruction has long been implemented in schools, the learning process is still largely dominated by lecture-based methods and conventional media, resulting in low student motivation and suboptimal achievement of learning objectives. This study aimed to develop an interactive e-module using Flip PDF Professional based on QR Code technology and to evaluate its feasibility, effectiveness, and students’ responses to its use in Fiqih learning. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, encompassing the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects consisted of two validators (a media expert and a content expert) and 30 eighth-grade students at MTsN 5 Jombang. The findings show that the developed e-module was categorized as highly feasible, with feasibility scores of 94% from the media expert and 86% from the content expert. Student responses were also very positive, with an average score of 89.3%, indicating that the e-module is engaging, easy to use, and supports students’ understanding of the Fiqih topics of sujud sahwi, tilawah, and syukur. The integration of QR Codes proved to enhance students’ access to videos, practice questions, and other supporting materials. These results confirm that the interactive e-module developed using Flip PDF Professional and QR Code technology is feasible and effective as a digital learning medium for Fiqih, aligned with the needs and characteristics of students in the digital era.

Abstract

Although active learning methods have been widely examined in educational research, the effect of the brainstorming method on learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at the junior high school level, particularly in schools located in non-urban areas, remains relatively underexplored. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the brainstorming method on students’ learning outcomes in the Islamic Religious Education subject at SMP N 1 Gunuang Omeh Subdistrict. A quantitative approach was employed with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a Static Group Comparison Design, involving 40 eighth-grade students selected through total sampling. Data were collected using an objective multiple-choice test and analyzed with the nonparametric Mann–Whitney U test after normality and homogeneity tests were conducted. The results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p = 0.003 < 0.05), where the experimental group taught using the brainstorming method obtained a mean score of 83.40 with an 85% mastery level, while the control group taught using conventional methods obtained a mean score of 74.10 with a 55% mastery level. These findings reinforce constructivist and social learning theories in the context of Islamic Religious Education and confirm that the implementation of active learning strategies based on brainstorming is effective in improving students’ learning outcomes. The study recommends that Islamic Religious Education teachers further integrate the brainstorming method into classroom practice as part of developing student-centered learning, and encourages subsequent research to examine the impact of this method on affective and psychomotor domains.

Abstract

Gross motor development in early childhood is important because it forms the foundation for locomotor skills, coordination, and balance, while studies that specifically examine the implementation of a rhythm-based rope-jumping game with jump heights safely modified for children aged 4–5 years in the context of kindergarten learning remain limited. This study aimed to analyze the effect of a rhythmic rope-jumping game on the gross motor development of children aged 4–5 years at Kemala Bhayangkari Kindergarten. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design, involving 20 children consisting of 10 children in the experimental class and 10 children in the control class selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using performance tests and checklist-based observations of gross motor indicators covering movement in rhythm, coordination, balance, and agility, and were then analyzed through prerequisite tests of normality and homogeneity, followed by an independent-samples t-test and Cohen’s d effect size. The results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups (sig. 2-tailed = 0.013), with a higher increase in the mean score in the experimental class, rising from 10.0 to 14.0, compared with the control class, which increased from 9.8 to 12.4, and demonstrated a very strong effect size (d = 2.05). These findings confirm that rhythm-based play activities can be an effective strategy for optimizing children’s gross motor development. Therefore, kindergarten teachers are advised to integrate rhythmic rope-jumping games gradually and safely into classroom learning. The implications of this study include a theoretical contribution to the literature on play-based learning and practical implications for early childhood education and kindergarten institutions, while also opening opportunities for further research on intervention duration and the generalizability of findings across more diverse school contexts.

Abstract

Although MI NU Tarbiyatuth Thullab has implemented an adequate learning system and facilities, students’ discipline and cleanliness remain relatively low, as indicated by preliminary findings in Grade IV showing frequent violations of school regulations and low student participation in religious activities. This study aimed to describe the role of teachers in instilling disciplinary values in Grade IV students at MI NU Tarbiyatuth Thullab. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Primary data were obtained through interviews with the principal, teachers, and Grade IV students, while secondary data were collected through documentation of madrasah activities. Data validity was examined through source triangulation, and data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that teachers played a strategic role in instilling disciplinary values through positive habituation, exemplary conduct, and collaboration with parents. These strategies proved effective in fostering responsibility, improving discipline, and cultivating clean and orderly behavior among students. Thus, the role of teachers is highly important in shaping students’ disciplinary character. The implications of this study emphasize the need to strengthen a culture of discipline continuously through collaboration among teachers, the madrasah, and parents so that disciplinary values can be applied consistently in daily life, both within and beyond the madrasah environment.

Abstract

Although the development of creative thinking skills has received attention in various educational studies, research specifically examining the effect of the Mind Mapping method on creative thinking skills in Akidah Akhlak learning at the Madrasah Aliyah level remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the Mind Mapping method on the creative thinking skills of Grade XII students in the Akidah Akhlak subject at MAN 3 Agam. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a non-equivalent control group design, involving 60 students selected through purposive sampling and divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected using an essay test based on four creativity indicators, namely fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration, which had been tested for validity and reliability, and were then analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, gain score calculation, and an independent-samples t-test with the assistance of SPSS. The results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups (p < 0.05), with a greater improvement in creative thinking skills among the group that used the Mind Mapping method. These findings reinforce constructivist theory and divergent creativity theory in the context of Pendidikan Agama Islam learning and extend understanding of innovative instructional strategies in madrasahs. The study concludes that the use of visual- and association-based learning methods is important for improving students’ higher-order thinking skills and recommends that Akidah Akhlak teachers integrate Mind Mapping into the learning process. The implications of this study include a theoretical contribution to enriching the literature on creative learning in Islamic education and practical implications for educational institutions in designing more participatory learning strategies oriented toward 21st-century skills.

Abstract

Although the coexistence of Catholicism and African Indigenous Religion (AIR) among Bemba Catholics in Muchinga Province, Zambia, remains underexplored, it often produces religious friction, identity tensions, and frustration in lived religious experience. This study examined the challenges, tensions, and prospects involved in negotiating the dual religiosity of Bemba Catholics who practice Catholicism alongside AIR. Using a qualitative design grounded in hermeneutic phenomenology, the study involved 20 Bemba Catholic participants and drew data from in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and observations. The data were analyzed using Van Manen’s thematic reflection approach. The findings reveal that negotiating dual religiosity presents multiple challenges, including conflicting beliefs, social stigma, excommunication and disciplinary pressures, and tensions between Christian faith and ethno-religious identity. The study also identified inadequate integration of faith and culture, misconceptions and misinterpretations of Bemba traditional beliefs and practices, and resistance to change within the church as key sources of tension. At the same time, the findings indicate prospects for constructive dialogue with the church and personal development among adherents. This study contributes a contextualized understanding of dual religiosity by foregrounding local cultural complexities in the interpretation of religious identity and practice. It concludes that open discussion is necessary to address the tensions surrounding dual religiosity and recommends that the church develop programs to educate both clergy and laity on the cultural relevance of indigenous beliefs and practices.

Abstract

Work readiness is an important aspect that the younger generation needs to possess before entering the workforce, especially in facing the dynamics of the service industry that demand technical skills and interpersonal abilities. Internship programs serve as one of the effective learning means in shaping work readiness through direct experience in a professional environment. This study aims to analyze the process of forming the work readiness of internship participants through interactions with customers and team-work dynamics at PT. Kopi Mesra Abadi Surabaya. This study employed a qualitative approach with a field research method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with senior employees, participatory observation during operational activities, and documentation to strengthen the research findings. The analysis based on symbolic interactionism theory shows that work readiness is formed through a process of interpreting symbols and repeated social experiences. The results show that the internship program plays an important role in shaping participants’ work readiness through social interaction in the workplace. Internship participants not only learned technical skills in café service, but also developed interpersonal communication skills, teamwork, the ability to adapt to a dynamic work rhythm, and a professional attitude in serving customers. Guidance from senior employees and experience in interacting directly with customers became the main factors supporting this process. These findings confirm that the café service counter functions not only as a space for work practice, but also as a space for the formation of professional identity and work readiness that is adaptive to the demands of the working world. The implications of this study show the importance of integrating internship programs more systematically into higher education curricula, as well as providing a reflective and collaborative work environment to strengthen the formation of internship participants’ work readiness.

Abstract

Although studies on consumer behavior in the beauty service industry have been widely conducted, research that specifically discusses the influence of consumer behavior on the decision to choose reflexology services at beauty salons in Padang City remains limited. This study aims to describe consumer behavior, describe consumers’ decisions in choosing reflexology services, and analyze the influence of consumer behavior on consumers’ decisions to choose reflexology services at Puan Beauty Salon & SPA in Padang City. This study employed an associative quantitative approach. The study population consisted of all women who used reflexology services at Puan Beauty Salon & SPA in Padang City, with a sample of 73 respondents selected using the total sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, and were then analyzed using descriptive analysis and simple linear regression with the aid of SPSS. The results showed that consumer behavior was in the moderate category at 80.8%, while consumer decision-making was also in the moderate category at 78.1%. The hypothesis test showed a positive and significant influence of consumer behavior on the decision to choose reflexology services, with a calculated t-value of 3.857 greater than the t-table value of 1.994 and a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.162 indicates that consumer behavior contributed 16.2% to consumer decisions, while the remaining 83.8% was influenced by other factors outside this study. These findings confirm that consumer behavior plays a role in the decision to choose reflexology services and provides practical contributions for salon managers in strengthening marketing strategies and improving service quality.

Abstract

Although classroom management has been a concern in various educational studies, research that specifically discusses teachers’ strategies in managing classrooms to improve students’ discipline and concentration in Fiqh learning at madrasahs remains limited. This study aims to analyze the strategies of Fiqh teachers in classroom management to improve students’ discipline and concentration, identify the obstacles faced by teachers in its implementation, and explain the efforts made to overcome those obstacles. This study employed a qualitative approach with a field research design, involving one Fiqh teacher as the key informant and several eighth-grade students as supporting informants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, structured interviews, and documentation, and were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the Fiqh teacher implemented several classroom management strategies, namely arranging students’ seating, applying classroom rules, using varied learning methods such as lectures, question-and-answer, and discussion, as well as supervision and a personal approach to students. These strategies proved capable of creating a more orderly and conducive learning atmosphere, thereby improving students’ learning discipline and concentration. These findings emphasize the importance of implementing effective classroom management strategies in creating a conducive learning environment, increasing students’ engagement in the learning process, and enriching classroom management studies in the context of Islamic Religious Education at madrasahs. The implications of this study indicate that teachers and educational institutions need to develop more adaptive and effective classroom management strategies, while also opening opportunities for further research on the relationship between classroom management and learning motivation, student character, and the learning environment at madrasahs.
