Abstract

Palm oil waste is a waste or by-product produced during the palm oil processing process. During the palm oil extraction process, some parts of the oil palm fruit are not used and are considered waste. The use of empty coconut bunches as agricultural organic fertilizer is an interesting topic in the field of sustainable agriculture. Empty coconut bunches are waste generated from the palm oil industry, and can be converted into organic fertilizer which is beneficial for increasing soil fertility and crop productivity. The use of empty coconut bunches as organic fertilizer also has environmental benefits. By processing this waste into fertilizer, empty coconut bunch waste can be reduced, thereby reducing its negative impact on the environment in North Labuhan Batu Regency. In addition, the use of organic fertilizers reduces dependence on chemical fertilizers that can pollute soil and water. This research uses literature studies, the object in this study is information systems and previous research related to the phenomena discussed, this aims to develop solutions and related problems. The results showed that organic fertilizer from empty coconut bunches has reduced environmental pollution of greenhouse gases. This organic fertilizer helps reduce fertilization costs from farmers' dependence on chemicals. In addition, EFB also contains a number of important nutrients such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K) and magnesium (Mg) which can delight the soil. Organic fertilizers derived from EFB have an additional advantage, namely releasing nutrients slowly into the soil thereby reducing the risk of environmental pollution and increasing the efficiency of nutrient use.

Abstract

Mining is the most dangerous occupational sector in the world. Based on statistical data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, during 2019 there were mining accidents which resulted in the death of 24 people, 105 workers heavy and 28 workers light. The cause of work accidents in the workforce is related to exposure to underground mining toxic gases. This study used the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology where the data source was obtained from "google scholar" with the search keywords '' the year of publication is limited from 2017 - 2022". From a review of the literature, predeposition factors consisting of age, work experience, work location and body parts have an effect on work accidents in workers, the risk assessment factor is the most important factor applied to prevent work accidents in the workplace and the role of the company influences the occurrence of accidents. Work. Based on the research questions, it can be concluded that the causes of work accidents include: lack of knowledge and motivation in using personal protective equipment and not carrying out work permit compliance procedures, not using personal protective equipment and not having a work permit socialization. Factors such as worker age, work experience are not positively correlated with work accidents while work location and body parts influence the causes of work accidents. Risk assessment factors can be carried out to minimize the occurrence of work accidents. In addition, it is known that many companies have prioritized safety issues as evidenced by the many studies conducted by companies to prevent work accidents in the workforce

Abstract

The mining industry is one of the industrial sectors that supports the national economy. The mining sector in Indonesia contributes a large proportion of state revenues starting from export earnings, regional development, increasing economic activity, opening up employment opportunities and sources of income to the central and regional budgets. 1 Work accidents are unplanned, uncontrollable and unwanted events ( upplanned, uncontrolled and undesired) at work, which is caused either directly or indirectly, by unsafe actions and or unsafe conditions resulting in the cessation of work activities. This research is a systematic review (Systematic Review) using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis) method. The percentage of causes of work accidents was 100% due to education level, 67.67% working age, 47% working time, 77.78% OSH knowledge and 55.56% behavior not using personal protective equipment (PPE). The biggest factor causing accidents in the mining industry is the level of education, which is 100% and the smallest is caused by work age, which is 47%. Mining companies should conduct OSH training for workers who have just entered work and employees who are already working in their companies. Companies must evaluate the causes of accidents that occur and document every accident that occurs.

Abstract

In practice, secondary prevention of work-related upper extremity symptoms (WRUE) generally targets biomechanical risk factors. Psychosocial risk factors have also been shown to play an important role in the development of WRUE symptom severity and future disability. Addition of a stress management component to a biomechanically focused intervention may result in greater improvement in WRUE symptoms and functional limitations than to an intervention on biomechanical risk factors alone. Seventy office workers with WRUE symptoms were randomly assigned to the ergonomics intervention (workplace assessment and modification and stretching exercises) or the combined ergonomics and work stress intervention group (ergonomics intervention plus two 1-hour workshops on identifying and managing stress at work.). Baseline, 3 and 12-month follow-up measures of observed and self-reported ergonomic risk, job stress, pain, symptoms, functional limitations, and general physical and mental health were obtained from all participants. While both groups experienced significant reductions in pain, symptoms, and functional limitations from baseline to three months with continued improvement for up to 12 months after baseline, no significant between-group differences were observed for any outcome measures. The findings indicated that the two-session additional occupational stress management component did not significantly improve the short-term or long-term improvements brought about by ergonomic intervention alone.

Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (K3) is the most important part in managing risk management by a company or organization in safety. in safety includes 2 parts, namely safety risks and health risks. Occupational health refers to conditions that allow you to be free from physical disturbances, bruises, pain, and emotions caused by the work environment. K3 management system is a system that exists within the company as a whole in order to control risks related to work activities in order to create a comfortable, safe, efficient and productive work environment. The type of data used is secondary data. Which is where data collection is done by literature study, then the data is analyzed, processed, and concluded.

Abstract

Mining is known as a high risk industry with a high accident rate. However, there is a dearth of materials that aim to hide and understand mining accident research trends and current scenarios related to this topic. Therefore, this systematic assessment aims to investigate research trends in mining accidents. By applying the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method, a systematic literature assessment (SLR) identified 57 cases related to mining accident issues from 2015 to 2019 from the ScienceDirect and Scopus databases. Based on these 57 studies, four main themes were raised, namely the main causes of mining accidents (46%), prevention of mining accidents (20%), and lawsuits (17%) and the impact of post-mining accidents (17%). The four themes produce a total of 35 sub-themes. Engineering failures are identified as a major cause of mining accidents and the application of safety software or models is essential to minimize the number of mining accidents. Mine owners have a responsibility to provide a safe working environment for their miners, and there are major challenges to achieving this. In addition, the impact of post-mining accidents has a negative impact on the environment. This systematic appraisal study aims to assist mine owners by providing a better understanding of the problem of mining accidents. This study is also addressed to miners, government, and policy makers so that all parties can jointly target mining accidents in the future.

Abstract

Stress at work is not a new phenomenon. Effective work stress management enables employees to maintain self-control in the work environment so that problems that arise can be accepted as challenges and not threats. The results of the study prove that emotional intelligence and interpersonal communication have an influence on stress management. Meanwhile, organizational commitment has no significant effect on work stress management. Another finding is that interpersonal communication has a significant effect on organizational commitment. Namely, that the influence of interpersonal communication on organizational commitment is determined by how close and individual needs to maintain relationships with certain social groups/organizations. Meanwhile, organizational commitment has no significant effect on interpersonal communication. This is a consequence of life in an era of abundance of information, where individuals can choose forms of communication from traditional to electronic media communications to maintain self-commitment to the organization.
