Media Ekonomi is published by Lembaga Penerbit Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis (LPFEB) Universitas Trisakti. Since 2002, three times a year, (April, August, and December). This journal was accredited by Dikti of 2005-2008, and start from 2016, we change the publication frequency to twice a year (April and October). The aim of Media Ekonomi to disseminate research result in economics. This journal did not give limitation on research method, both of quantitative and qualitative can be accepted and the data from primary, secondary, and literature review. The article that was submitted can be used Bahasa or English. The decision for acceptance depends on blind review results. Several criteria to be accepted are: originality, novelty, proper research method and give real contribution for theory development, or future research or practitioners. This journal is Open Access journal. This journal allows readers to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full texts or its articles and to use them for any other lawful purpose.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyzed labor demand in DKI Jakarta. Independent variables that used in this research are GRDP, investment, and wages). While the dependent variable is labor absorption.  Some data that were required in this research included the number of labors, data of GRDP, data of investment, and also wages of DKI Jakarta which received from BPS of DKI Jakarta. The data were analyzed by the Error Correction Model (ECM)  The result of this research showed that GRDP, investment, and wages had the same influence to labor demand DKI Jakarta. Partially, GRDP had positive and significant influence labor demand in DKI Jakarta. In other hand,  wages had a negative and significant influence to labor demand in DKI Jakarta. While investment has no significant effect on labor demand in DKI Jakarta. The influence of GRDP, investment, and wages to labor demand in DKI Jakarta had percentage is 87,39%. While 12,61% was explained by another factor.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the factors that influence Inflation towards ASEAN 5 countries, i.e. Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Philippines 2000-2014. This research is using methods of analysis panel data to determine the factors the influence the Inflation inflows in ASEAN-5. The factors that influence Inflation are Money Supply, Interest Rate, Exchange Rate, and Gross Domestic Product. Based on the analysis panel data result shows that Money Supply and Gross Domestic Product have the negative and significant impact to Inflation in ASEAN-5. Interest Rate has a negative and significant impact to Inflation in ASEAN-5. Exchange Rate has a positive and not significant impact to Inflation in ASEAN-5.

Abstract

The study aims to determine of factors affecting the demand of consumption financing the Islamic bank in Indonesia the period of 2010-2014. The variables used include demand of consumption financing, GDP per capita, inflation, and margin. The method used in this study is the regression method panel. Results of the study showed margin have positively to demand of consumption financing and inflation have negatively to demand of consumption financing. If seen from the results the demand of consumption financing model for GDP Per capita have the positively significant results of Islamic bank in Indonesia period 2010-2014.

Abstract

This thesis discusses the influence of market structure, market power relative, and the efficiency of the company on Profitability general insurance company. The independent variables used include CR16 as a proxy of the market structure, market share as a proxy of the relative market power, and CRS as an efficiency measure. The method used in this thesis is the method of panel data regression method. This study aims to determine which is the most influential variable on Profitability general insurance company in Indonesia. Results showed that variable relative market power (market share) has the most impact on Profitability general insurance company. Then, simultaneously three independent variables significant effect on Profitability. Based on the coefficient of integration test results, the ability of independent variables in the model to explain the dependent variable changes is amounted to 18.07 %.

Abstract

This thesis discusses the effectiveness of macroprudential policies Indonesia Bank in the control of property loans. The independent variables are dummy variables of the loan to value, interest rates on consumer loans, gross domestic product, and the interaction variables of loan to value with interest rates on consumer credit and the dependent variable is the property loans. The method used in this thesis is panel data regression method. This study aims to determine whether macroprudential policy instrument (loan to value) is effective to be applied in Indonesia. The results showed that macroprudential policy instrument (loan to value) is effective to control property loan. Then, simultaneously four independent variables significant effect on property loans and partially interest rates on consumer credit has no significant effect on property loans. Based on the coefficient of integration test result, the ability of independent variables in the model to explain the dependent variable changes is amounted to 62.68%.

Abstract

The present study aimed to analyze the relationship between the level of foreign direct investment to Indonesia's economic growth in the period 1991-2014.Fokus of the present study was to analyze the short-term relationship between foreign direct investment and economic growth Indonesia. In addition, along with the financial crisis 2008 global bit much negative of Indonesia affected by the global economic slowdown due to the crisis. This prompted the present study was to also perform forecasting of the impact of global financial crisis on foreign direct investment and relation to economic growth. To answer these questions, this research chose VAR Vector Auto Regression or as a method to answer the research questions. Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Consumer Price Index, BI rate, and the Exchange Rate, the variables used in this research. The estimation results of the VAR indicate that direct investment from abroad did not have an impact on economic growth in the long term but has a strong bond in the short term against the growth of economics. This indicates that foreign investment into Indonesia increasingly quality in promoting economic growth. In addition, the results of forecasting using impulse response function indicates there will be the tendency of a decrease in the level of foreign direct investment and economic growth in Indonesia.

Abstract

Banking is an institution that became one of supporting economic activity. Banks also be intermediary institutions that are considered important in financing both for individuals and organizations as well as being an alternative as a place to invest. So that's why many people assess the performance of banks to make a benchmark in the use of banking services. Besides the performance of the banking concern for management to assess whether the bank has been able to carry out normal banking operations and meet all its obligations in accordance with the regulations of both the government and the central bank. This study aimed to obtain results which are then used as an overview of the health of banks. This research was conducted in six Islamic banks in Indonesia. Data used is secondary data in the period 2010-2014. The analytical methods used are panel data analysis. The result showed that the Operating Expense to Operating Income affect a significant negative effect on bank profits while the Capital Adequacy Ratio, Net Performing Financing and Financing to Deposit Ratio significantly the negative and not on the bank's profit.
