Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Purpose of this study was to determine qualitative characteristic of dewlap, horns, and double muscle point of Peranakan Ongole and Belgian Blue crossbred in west java. This study was carried out in April – May 2022. This crossbred is spread across all four boroughs in West Java, other things: Ciamis Regency, Tasikmalaya Regency, Garut Regency and Purwakarta Regency. The method used is descriptive exploratory. The number of samples was 18 aged 1-9 months. Data collected: exist or doesn’t exist of dewlap, exist or doesn’t exist of horn’s, and exist or doesn’t exist of double muscle. The data obtained were analyzed using relative frequency. Relative frequency table shows that Belgian Blue Cattle and their crosses with Peranakan Ongole have 100 % dewlap are exist, 77,7 % horn are exist and 16,67 % double muscle are exist.

Abstract

Sheep are one type of livestock that has great potential to be developed in Indonesia.  One of the sheep raised by Indonesian people is Garut sheep which is a Livestock Genetic Resource (SDGT) of West Java.  Researvh on estimating the breeding value of weaning weights of Garut sheep at Technical Implementation Unit of the Margawati Garut Sheep and goat Development Center (UPTD-BPPTDK) has been carried out on January 10-16, 2022. The study aims to estimate the heritability and breeding value of weaning weight of Garut Sheep at UPTD-BPPTDK Margawati Garut. The research objects used were 89 data from 25 males and 75 femaes.  The method used is descriptive analytic using analysis of the variety of the half-sib.  The fixed effects included in this analysis were sex and birth type as well as additionla parental age correction factors.  The results showed that the alleged heritability value of weaning weight 0.84 ± 0.34 was included in the high category.  The highest alleged weaning weight breeding values was obtained by sheep with ID No 11181782 of 4.654 foe male sheep and ID No 1810720 of 4.131 for female sheep.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai deplesi dan Indeks Performance (IP) ayam broiler pada kandang closed house yang menggunakan inverter exhaust fan dan tanpa menggunakan inverter exhaust fan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan 10 Maret 2023 – 24 April 2023, yaitu selama satu periode pemeliharaan ayam broiler di Peternakan Ayam Broiler Singaparna, PT. Mitra Berlian Unggas, Kecamatan Singaparna, Kabupaten Tasikmalaya, Jawa Barat. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode riset antara pengamatan langsung (1 periode pemeliharaan) dan pemanfaatan data sekunder selama 5 (lima) periode pemeliharaan pada kandang yang sama. Perbandingan angka deplesi dan indeks performa antara kedua jenis kandang diuji menggunakan Uji Independent Sample T-Test. Hasil analisis uji Independent Sample T-Test menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara deplesi pada kandang yang menggunakan inverter exhaust fan dan tanpa inverter exhaust fan. Deplesi pada kandang dengan penggunaan inverter (5,51%) cenderung lebih rendah bila dibandingkan dengan deplesi pada kandang tanpa inverter (7%). Demikian pula hasil analisis uji Independent Sample T-Test pada indeks performa menunjukkan tidak adanya perbadaan signifikan, namun IP pada kandang dengan penggunaan inverter cenderung jauh lebih tinggi yaitu sebesar 414 bila dibandingkan dengan IP pada kandang tanpa inverter yaitu sebesar 369.

Abstract

Research on the craniometric size of crosses of Belgian Blue cattle and Peranakan Ongole was carried out from April to June 2022.  The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution and craniometric size of crosses of Belgian Blue cattle and Peranakan Ongole in West Java.  This study used 18 crosses of Belgian Blue cattle and Ongole cattle, aged 1 – 9 months.  The method used in this research is descriptive exploratory, with census data collection.  The variables measured were 11 cranium size parameters consisting of Profile length, Median frontal length, Length of the nasals, Foramen gums length, Condilo basal length, the Greatest breadth of the skull, Least Breadth between the basses of the horn cores, Least frontal breadth, Least breadth between supraorbital foramina, Least breadth between the orbits and Breadth between infraorbital foramina.  The results of statistical analysis showed uniform and various coefficients of variation, meaning that the diversity was caused by the effect of heterosis

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian Tepung Keong Mas (Pomacea canaliculata L) dalam ransum terhadap Konsumsi Ransum, Pertambahan Bobot Badan dan Konversi Ransum Puyuh Pedaging.  Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Sukamenak, Kecamatan Darmaraja Jatigede, Kabupaten Sumedang Jawa Barat, pada bulan Mei-Juni 2023.  Objek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 100 ekor puyuh pedaging mulai dari umur 0 hari sampai dengan umur 42 hari atau 6 minggu.  Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental dengan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), yang terdiri atas 5 perlakuan yaitu P0 (Ransum tanpa penggunaan Tepung Keong Mas), P1 (Ransum mengandung 5% Tepung Keong Mas), P2 (Ransum menggunakan 10% Tepung Keong Mas), P3 (Ransum menggunakan 15% Tepung Keong Mas) dan P4 (Ransum menggunakan 20% Tepung Keong Mas).  Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali.  Hasil sidik ragam menunjukkan bahwa pemberian tepung keong mas memberikan pengaruh tidak nyata terhadap konsumsi ransum, namun memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian tepung keong mas hingga taraf 10% dalam ransum (P2) menghasilkan konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi ransum paling baik pada puyuh pedaging

Abstract

Sifat kuantitatif domba Garut merupakan sifat-sifat yang dapat diukur serta dijadikan pedoman dalam pemilihan bibit calon induk dan pejantan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui bibit domba Garut betina di UPTD-BPPTDK Margawati yang telah memenuhi Standar Nasional Indonesia. Penelitian dilaksanakan di UPTD-BPPTDK Margawati Garut Sukanegla, Kecamatan Garut Kota, Kabupaten Garut pada bulan Juli 2022. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode survei terhadap domba garut betina calon induk. Sampel penelitian ditentukan secara  purposive, yaitu calon induk yang berumur 8 – 12 bulan. Parameter yang diamati meliputi berat badan, panjang badan, tinggi pundak dan lingkar dada. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari 39 ekor domba betina calon indukan yang berumur 8 - 12 bulan diperoleh sebanyak 27 ekor (69,23%) domba telah sesuai dengan Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI 7532.1:2015), sisanya 30,77% belum sesuai SNI.
