Abstract

Wound care has also developed rapidly after the dissemination of the concept of TIME (Tissue, Infection, Moisture, and Wound Edge) in modern dressing (MD). The aim of this study was to compare modern dressings (MDs) and classic dressings (CDs) in terms of patient comfort, cost effectiveness and wound healing. A prospective study design with total of 25 participants. The sampling technique used was consecutive sampling. Patient comfort was assessed through the frequency of wound care and pain scale using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Cost-effectiveness was assessed using direct and indirect costs. Wound healing was assessed using the Bates-Jensen Wound Assessment Tool (BWAT) score. The data was analyzed using the independent t and Mann-Whitney tests. The application of MD has the same cost-effectiveness as CD with a more satisfactory outcome for the wounds in terms of comfort and healing.

Abstract

A new, economical, sensitive, simple, rapid UV spectrophotometric method has been developed for the estimation of Acyclovir in pure form and pharmaceutical formulation. This UV method was developed using NaOH (0.1N) as a solvent. In the present method, the wavelength selected for analysis was 253nm. Using 1cm match quartz cells, all of the spectrum and absorbance measurements were performed using an UV-VIS spectrophotometer (Shimadzu 1800) was used to carry out the spectral analysis. The ICH guidelines were used to validate the method. Throughout the study, we compared the purity of the drugs, with standard drugs (HPLC grade purity >99%) purchased from SIGMA ALDRICH Ltd. The test drugs from pharmaceutical companies (CIPLA) in its dosage form taken from the market. The method was validated for linearity, range, accuracy, precision, drug content , LOD and LOQ. Linearity was found in the range of 2.5-40μg/ml. Accuracy was performed by using a recovery study. The percentage recovery for all the methods performed was in the range of 99-100% indicating of zero interference of the excipients (in the formulation). LOD and LOQ were found to be 1.5766434 and 4.7777075 respectively [SD: 0.474474135; SE: 0.212191284]. Relative error (<2) values showed that the proposed procedure exhibited excellent Interday and intraday precision. The proposed UV spectroscopic method was found to be accurate, precise, stable, linear, specific, and simple for quantitative estimation of acyclovir in bulk and pharmaceutical dosage form. Hence the present UV spectroscopic method is suitable for the routine assay of acyclovir in bulk and pharmaceutical formulations.

Abstract

The development of digital radiology technology improves the quality of medical services, but challenges in image distribution and interpretation encourage the use of teleradiology. The development of web-based teleradiology applications is a cost-effective solution with the ability to integrate patient data and DICOM image display to improve the efficiency of radiology interpretation. This has the potential to improve the quality of radiology services by accelerating the diagnostic process and reducing the physical accessibility limitations of radiologists. This study aims to develop a web-based application as a solution to radiographic image delivery and PACS weaknesses, and test its effectiveness in improving the quality of radiology services. The research method used is the research and development (R&D) method, which aims to produce and test new products. The results of this study show that the development of a web-based teleradiology application provides an appropriate solution to the constraints of the reader's presence at the image capture site, while maintaining image quality according to DICOM standards. The application allows easy use of various devices, data exchange between medical professionals, and secure data storage. In Addition, it reduces the waiting time in the delivery and reading of radiographic images by radiologists. Compared to older methods, such as delivery via email or Whatsapp, this web application shows improved quality and accuracy of radiographic image reading.

Abstract

Organizational commitment throughout the world, especially in Indonesia, is still very low. Similarly, in RS Medika Lestari itself, it can be seen that the commitment of each is not optimal with high nurse turnover and the tenure of nurses, most of whom are less than 1 year. For this reason, this study will examine the factors that are thought to affect organizational commitment, especially in RS Medika Lestari. This study will use factors such as Career Development, Remuneration, and Work Motivation. This research is an explanatory research using a quantitative approach. This study uses a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire distributed to 80 respondents who are nurses at RS Medika Lestari. The results obtained from this study are career development and remuneration partially have a significant influence on organizational commitment and work motivation. Work motivation can mediate the influence between career development on organizational commitment, work motivation also can mediate the influence between remuneration on organizational commitmen.

Abstract

The occurrence of patient accidents is like an iceberg phenomenon. Medical errors remain a global issue in the healthcare sector. The culture of safety aims to create safer patient care, considering that Adverse Events can not only increase healthcare service costs but also bring hospitals into a blaming area. This study aims to describe the patient safety culture at Melati Perbaungan General Hospital. This descriptive study observes the implementation of patient safety culture in preventing adverse events in the inpatient department at Melati Perbaungan General Hospital using a total sampling technique with criteria including human resources in the inpatient department, such as executors, responsible persons, and department heads, totaling 65 people. The measurement of patient safety culture uses the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture (HSPSC) questionnaire with 12 dimensions of patient safety culture. The results show that the majority of respondents' characteristics in terms of age and length of work greatly support the creation of a patient safety culture, as most staff are in their productive age (31-40 years) and have an optimal working period (1-5 years) in performing their duties. The implementation of the patient safety culture by staff at Melati Perbaungan General Hospital is in the Positive Response category at 77.9%. This indicates that the patient safety culture has been well implemented.
