Abstract

The use of instruments at this time is very much needed, especially in industry. One example of an instrument is a transmitter, where the transmitter consists of an electrical transmitter. The transmitter is a device used to convert physical signals into instrument signals or send signals from the transmitter (sensor) to the controller and from the controller to the final controller. In this case, we will discuss the measurement of CPO liquid level, where what is measured is the height of CPO liquid using an electric differential pressure transmitter, which is equipped with other instrumentation equipment such as recorders, transmitters, digital manometers, DC voltage sources, pressure gages, compressors, air regulators. . From level measurement using an electric differential pressure transmitter, the results of the level measurement are proportional to the physical pressure, where the 6000 mm tank level has an instrument signal of 20 mA. The 0 mm tank level has an instrument signal of 4 mA.

Abstract

The author describes the object of observation in this final work as the helix compression spring. The helix compression spring is used to reduce pressure, and it works based on the amount of compressive force exerted by the press plate on the pallet. The pallets used are nine types of pallets with three main paper sizes, namely A4, F4, and B5. This observation aims to study the extent of the relationship between the variables of pressure, deflection, and spring shear stress. Based on the results of the discussion obtained, the pallet that receives the most significant compressive force, deflection, and shear stress is the F4 5 plate pallet, and the pallet that gets the minor compressive strength, deflection and shear stress is the B5 3 plate pallet. This proves that the pressure is directly proportional to the deflection and shear stress of the spring.

Abstract

Energy has a very important role in supporting sustainable development because increasing development growth results in an increase in the need for fuel. In the performance of the generator engine, there are several important parameters in data collection such as effective power, torque, specific fuel consumption, and thermal efficiency. In this research, several types of fuels such as LPG and biogas are used, which are expected to be used as alternative fuels that are more environmentally friendly. This research was carried out experimentally on a 4-stroke generator engine which has made changes to the oil-fueled carburetor to use gas fuel so that it can be used using LPG or biogas fuel and added additional components to the fuel inlet line such as a flow meter so that it can be used as fuel. varying the amount of fuel that enters the combustion chamber. In addition, this study also compares the effect of LPG fuel and a mixture of biogas with LPG on the performance of the resulting engine. The best overall test results were obtained using LPG fuel with an increase in Ne: 27.31%, Torque: 0.05%, SFC: 0.34%, and Thermal Efficiency: 4.09% compared to using a combination of Biogas and LPG fuel.

Abstract

To produce ideal electrical energy, a waterwheel with decent efficiency is needed. The appearance of a waterwheel can be affected by several limitations, including the size of the edges, the speed at which the water flows, and the number of edges entered. In addition, it is also essential to align the water wheel with the river frame so that the wheel is divided into three types, namely overshot, breastshot, and undershot. The undershot water wheel works on the flow of water, which causes movement around the bottom of the wheel. Although the design is essential and affordable, this type is suitable for use in shallow waters in flat areas and is not difficult to move. The procedure in this study was carried out by analyzing the performance of a micro-hydro power plant consisting of discharge, torque, and efficiency. The maximum electric power produced by the undershot type water wheel with 10 blades at a blade angle of 20⁰ with aluminum material is 5.7 Watt with a water discharge of 0.00546 m3/s, and the minor electric power is 4.2 Watt; this power is obtained at the discharge water of 0.00429 m3/s. This type of undershoot waterwheel can be implemented in areas that have flowing rivers or waterfalls so that it can become an alternative power plant. This study concludes that the maximum electric power produced by an undershot type water wheel with 10 blades at a blade angle of 20⁰ with aluminum material is 5.7 Watt with a water discharge of 0.00546 m3/s, and the smallest electric power is 4.2 Watt; this was obtained at a water debit of 0.00429 m3/s.

Abstract

In the milling process, good surface roughness conditions are indicated by low surface roughness values. Surface roughness is formed by the friction of the cutting tools on the surface of the workpiece. Increasing the use of cutting parameters will invariably increase the applied frictional force and faster scratching; however, if there are three cutting parameters used, such as cutting speed, infeed speed, and depth of cut, it is difficult to determine which parameter contributes to the resulting value. Good surface roughness. So based on this, to find out the optimal cutting parameters, this research was carried out. The study was carried out using a milling machine. In the SKD11 Steel material milling process, the surface roughness value of the workpiece is an indicator in determining a good surface condition. SKD11 steel material has a hardness value of 16-20 HRC and is a type of tool steel commonly used as cutting tools, Deep Drawing molds, Drawing Cones, and Compression Molding Dies. By varying the cutting parameters, the workpiece is formed using a milling machine. The cut workpiece is then measured for surface roughness using a surface test tool. Furthermore, to analyze the optimal cutting parameter values for minimal surface roughness, the Taguchi method is used. The results showed that the optimal surface roughness value was obtained from a combination of cutting parameters with a spindle speed of 1800 r/min, a feed rate of 256 mm/min, and a depth of cut of 0.25 mm.

Abstract

Electrical energy is an essential requirement for humans to perform all  kinds of enterprises covering micro, small, medium and large enterprises. Efforts to utilize electrical energy efficiently is a wise action. The aims of the research is to analyze the use of electrical energy in a building that is used for micro enterprise. The research was conducted by collecting primary and secondary data in the observed building. The scope of research data includes the room areas, electrical energy consumption, level of lighting, temperature and humidity. The calculating results  are compared with the standard data in the peraturan mentri energi dan sumber daya mineral no  13 tahun 2012. The results of the research show that only one room of building is in wasteful criteria. The lighting level has a difference between 18% to 79% below the standard. Air humidity in rooms equipped with air conditioning meets the standards, while the room temperatures are still higher than the standard temperature.

Abstract

This study is an investigation into the causes of failure in a part of a natural rubber separator with water known as a Centrifuge type LRH 410. The part that is damaged is the lock ring which functions as the main lock. The purpose of this study was to obtain a comparison of the values of tensile strength, material hardness, and the composition of the constituent elements of the two types of locks. This investigation includes a field visit to the incident location to collect initial failure data and send samples to the laboratory. Specimens are divided into 2 types, namely damaged lock ring material (LR-R) and good lock ring material (LR-B). Tensile testing was carried out using the standard E8M-99 ASTM metric system. The hardness test uses the Brinell hardness test method. Observation of the microstructure of the lock ring (specimen) aims to determine the microstructure of the specimen. Analysis of the composition of the elements of the lock ring material using a spectrometer. The results of the tensile test showed that the yield strength of the LR-R material was only 50% compared to LR-B. Based on the material hardness test, it can be seen that the LR-R hardness value is lower than LR-B. Based on the results of the composition test, it was found that the content of the element Carbon in LR-R was 50% lower than that of LR-B. Thus the LR-R material will wear out faster when operated compared to the LR-B material.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the angle of inclination of the 10 WP solar panel so that the maximum amount of sunlight that falls on the surface area of the solar cell, analyze the performance of the solar cell, calculate the duration of charging the battery using a 10 WP solar panel. The method used is an experiment by recording every 10 minutes the output current and voltage of a 10 WP solar panel and battery, the current and voltage entering the battery and recording the intensity of sunlight using a solar meter. The overall results, based on theory and experiment, are that the angle of inclination of the solar panel is 10 WP so that the maximum amount of sunlight that falls on the surface area of the solar cell is at an angle of 9.3620 at 12.00 WIB facing south where the instantaneous intensity of sunlight hitting the solar panel at is 1049 W/m2, the performance of the solar cell is obtained by an average output current of solar panels 0.1295 A, the average output voltage of solar panels is 14.3162 V, the average output power of solar panels is 1.8798 W, the average the power that hits the solar panel is 59.3811 W, and the average panel efficiency is 3.1707%, the duration of charging the battery using a 10 WP solar panel is approximately 29 hours 8 minutes so that the battery is fully charged or approximately 2 days 5 hours 8 minutes.

Abstract

Research on composite materials continues to experience significant development in line with human needs for products that are lighter, stronger, easier to form, environmentally friendly, and low cost. Alternative materials sourced from natural materials such as the Jute plant combined with synthetic e-glass materials are a top priority to achieve the target of materials that are strong but environmentally friendly. In this study, the investigation aimed to analyze the effect of applying hybrid laminated composite materials of woven jute fiber sheets and e-glass (KLHJG) to cylindrical column concrete by calculating the percentage of the crack pattern (PPR) that occurs and then comparing it to the split tensile strength (KTB). ) to get the phenomenon that occurs. Specimens were printed using the ASTM D496 standard for splitting tensile strength testing. PPR is calculated using the Histogram method with the help of Adobe Photoshop software. The result obtained is that the provision of KLHJG on cylindrical column concrete can reduce PPR to below 20%. However, the JGJG composition obtained a PPR greater than 30% which indicates that this composition is not very effective in protecting the concrete structure against the external load it is subjected to.

Abstract

PT. Sumber Jaya Indahnusa COY is one of the companies in Indonesia engaged in the processing of palm oil with regional and domestic product marketing. PT. Sumber Jaya Indahnusa COY has problems related to the company's supply chain, where until now, the supply chain performance measurement management system is still not optimal. The measurements are still functional-based, carried out in each division or section in PT. Sumber Jaya Indahnusa COY. The solution to this problem is sought by measuring and improving the performance of the company's supply chain. The research method used is action research. Problem-solving is done using a supply chain operations reference approach. The results of supply chain performance measurement are 28 key performance indicators (KPI), namely 6 for the plan perspective, 8 for the source perspective, 4 for the make perspective, 6 for the deliver perspective, and 4 for the return perspective. The average total index value is 7.42. Based on the traffic light system, the index value is in the yellow category, indicating PT's supply chain performance. Sumber Jaya Indahnusa COY has not achieved the expected performance despite the results being close to the set targets.
