PUSTAKALOKA: Jurnal Kajian Informasi & Perpustakaan is a peer-reviewed journal taken from the library of IAIN Ponorogo on Information and Library Science. PUSTAKALOKA is published twice annually (June and December) by the journal editors from the Library IAIN Ponorogo in cooperation with the Asosiasi Perpustakaan Perguruan Tinggi Islam (APPTIS) Jawa Timur. Every received article will be reviewed by the journal editors and external editors and reviewers who are competent in each related field. The review uses double-blind peer review before the journal is published. PUSTAKALOKA will publish selected paper under a Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 4.0 International License. And, every article is free of charge for authors and readers.

Abstract

Lately the term information literacy is often discussed this awareness need to be appreciated. Even in Indonesia it can be said to be late, but considering the importance of the benefits of information for the developments of the awareness that literacy should be developed. Librarian has many alternative to classify DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification) number. not only use printed DDC, but now DDC software to help identify DDC number is available. One of them is Athenaeum Light 8.5, DFW (Dewey For Windows) Version 1.00, WebDewey 2.0, e-DDC (electronic-Dewey Decimal Classification) Edition 22. In this paper, it will roll out about how to use software with it excess and deficiency.

Abstract

The presence of internet would bring a variaty of effects in all areas of human life. The impac of bias could be both a positive and negative. On the other side for libraries it would bring a disparate impact, engaged  in the service and information. In the contect of libraries, the internet is very helpfull to disseminate information that is available in it. It means internet becomes a partner in the dissemination of information. Therefore, the existence of internet is very important for the library.

Abstract

Today, many libraries such as academic library have developed local digital repositories. A significant increase in the development of repositories is expected with technology and process improvements for digital collection development. Current information technology requires interoperabilty between systems that facilitate the exchange of data and information. Use of the web based applications and data through oen archives initiative (OAI) protocol or the other systems can be a bridge to access the local digital collection. this study discusses about the implementation of information systems using free software eprints. The result is an Eprints can be used its an information system for institutional repositories that has interoperability with other system.

The advance of a state is decided by the human resources, particularly the information competence.  Libraries have an important role to increase this resource by improving the society literacy. Endeavor to upgrade the competence of infomation literacy would produce the strength of information competence, namely the competence to empower intensifying their daily activity. So that it can influence and accelerate society dynamics, and finally would  bring out the advance of state.

Abstract

The key to use a knowledge treasury on library especially school library is reading. And the process of reading a literature will be maximal if it is done by interest in reading. In addition to having main duty, such as information, circulation and reference service, school library has a role to increase interest in reading of students. A lot of services of library to increase student's interest in reading are those which become part of learning process, service to increase student's skill to explore information, and service to increase library use. So, the library many oppotunities to increase student's interest in reading. The main parts, especially librarian. Those process will form a paradigm the reading is the main matter in learning process. This essay will explore library's role to increase student's interest in reading.
