Abstract

Keberadaan beberapa film yang mengusung tema disabilitas diharapkan bisa membangun kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya kesetaraan hak-hak kelompok minoritas khususnya kelompok disabilitas di berbagai bidang kehidupan. Adanya representasi yang keliru mampu mengakibatkan munculnya berbagai permasalahan yang akan dirasakan oleh para penyandang disabilitas. Selain itu, dalam setiap film juga sudah pasti dilengkapi dengan pesan moral karena sejatinya kehidupan manusia itu tidak akan bisa lepas dari nila-nilai moral. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui representasi dan pesan moral yang terkandung dalam film Dancing In The Rain. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Metode ini lebih menekankan pada penelitian yang bersifat deskriptif dan lebih menekankan pada analisis informasi yang mendetail. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis semiotika milik Roland Barthes. Adapun data yang digunakan adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer bersumber dari film dan data sekunder bersumber dari sumber literature seperti jurnal, artikel, skripsi, buku, situs serta sumber lain yang mendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa di lingkungan masyarakat keberadaan penyandang disabilitas direpresentasikan sebagai kondisi yang tidak normal atau abnormal. Sedangkan, pesan moral yang terkandung dalam film ada tiga yakni pesan non diskriminasi, pesan persahabatan serta pesan ketulusan atau keikhlasan.

Abstract

Advertising is part of communication, because basically advertising is a message delivery process, where the message contains information about a product, both goods and services. When viewed from the purpose of making advertisements, advertisements are divided into commercial and non-commercial advertisements. One form of non-commercial advertising is public service advertisements. Public service advertisements generally contain messages about national awareness, humanity, health, education and the environment. This is used by a number of institutions and business entities in Indonesia to campaign for a program or activity or convey information to the public. As has been done by the Central Statistics Agency in campaigning for the 2020 Population Census by releasing a public service advertisement entitled Interview Population Census or Online? on television. This study aims to determine the meaning of the message contained in this service advertisement on television. This study uses a qualitative approach with the semiotic analysis method of Charles Sanders Pierce which in the process of analysis uses a triangle of meaning model which consists of sign, object and interpretant. Based on the results of the study, the researcher concluded that the public service advertisement entitled Interview Population Census or Online? on television has the meaning of the message that the Central Statistics Agency will conduct the 2020 Population Census with interviews and online as a form of understanding from the Central Statistics Agency towards the diverse characters of Indonesian society.

Abstract

The Semiotic Analysis of the Meaning of the Messages of the Lyrics of the Song "Pilu Membiru", "Rehat", and "Sulung" by Kunto Aji was written and researched using semiotic theory according to Ferdinand de Saussure to reveal the meaning and message of the lyrics of the song by singer Kunto Aji entitled Pilu Membiru, Rest, and Eldest. The song is contained in Kunto Aji's second album entitled MantraMantra, where the presence of this album is intended to self-healing the listeners so that they can interpret life positively. The subject of the research is Kunto Aji as a singer. The data collection technique used in this research is qualitative analysis, the data obtained from the analysis of lyrics according to Ferdinand de Saussure's theory, which will then provide an overview of the meaning of the message contained in the lyrics of the song. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the three songs of Kunto Aji in the MantraMantra album have a message not to give up in life and always think positively. The three songs are also delivered in the same pattern,which is repetitive to instill the meaning of the lyrics in the listener's subconscious.

Abstract

The research is entiled “Moral Message In Animated Film Nussa and Rara on Youtube Episode 1-15” which aims to find out the moral message in the film Nussa and Rara. The research method used was descriptive quantitative content analysis, namely analysis to describe in detail the scenes contained in the film “Nussa and Rara” with the Pro Social indicators proposed by Wisped and Bandura, this theory states that the Pro Social sub-indicators are selfless, helpful, warm, cooperative, empathetic, praising, advising, regret, politeness, and the Anti Social sub-indicators, namely threats, coercion, war, fighting, insulting, cursing, betrayal, disobedience, sneaking, angry and lying. In analyzing the data, the researscher acts directly as a coder who filss in the coding with the help of 2 other coders who act as comparators/judges. The results showed that Pro Social was greater, namely 93% than Anti Social, which was 7%. Of all the Pro Social sub indicators that have the most points, namely advising from coder 1 points 100%, coder 2 point 100%, coder 3 87%, while the Anti Social sub-indicators is angry from coder 1 points 20%, coder 2 points 7%, coder 3 13%. The results suggest that Pro Social is more dominant is advising, whereas Anti Social is more dominant is angry. It can be concluded that Nussa and Rara films have a more Pro Social tendency.

Abstract

The issue of the Draft Law on the Elimination of Sexual Violence (RUU P-KS) was hot again when Bambang Soesatyo (Chairman of the 2014-2019 DPR) stated that the bill would still contain pros and cons. The attitude of the mainstream media tends to show the side of why the P-KS Bill deserves to be passed. Meanwhile, the Islamic media strongly reject the ratification of the bill because it is not in accordance with the norms and religions that apply in Indonesia. Hidayatullah.com as a media based on Islam, of course, will display the news point of view as the ideology of the media. This study aims to determine the pros and cons of the P-KS Bill in the Daring Hidayatullah.com media for the period 25-29 September 2019. The analytical method used is Framing Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki, by looking at the four elements, namely syntax (how to) . compiling fact reports), scripts (how to report facts), thematic (how to write news), and rhetorical (how journalists write facts) on news with the discussion of the P-KS Bill on Hidayatullah.com. The results of research from Hidayatullah.com show an attitude towards the 2014-2019 DPR RI plan to ratify the P-KS Bill. Hidayatullah.com has also met the requirements for completeness of news (5W+1H), but has not met the requirements of what, who, and why. On the theme, Hidayatullah.com is related to the reasons or parties who reject the ratification of the P-KS Bill. In fact, Hidayatullah.com uses the image "Reject the P-KS Bill" as a form of the P-KS Bill.

Abstract

Social criticism consists of two terms, namely from the word criticism and social. Criticism, in the Big Indonesian Dictionary, it is explained that criticism means criticism or feedback, sometimes accompanied by descriptions and considerations of the good and bad of a work, opinion and so on. While social has the meaning of making friends, together, associating, intending to understand events in society, namely human fellowship, to be able to try to bring about improvements in life together. Instagram is an application that is used to share photos and videos. Instagram itself is still part of Facebook which allows our Facebook friends to follow our Instagram account. Based on the research that researchers have done on social criticism content published by the @banggaber account. The analysis is based on a qualitative method with critical discourse analysis, using the research framework of the Teun A. van Dijk model. The text in the image uploaded to the Instagram account @banggaber contains social criticism, where is the creator processing social criticism becomes lighter to understand. In this study, the researcher wanted to see the message conveyed by the creator through his work. By examining the work of Instagram @banggaber using critical discourse analysis of the Teun model a Van Dijk, where there are three levels of analysis in the theory. The first level is the analysis structure, where the researcher observes the message conveyed in @banggaber's work. The second level is the analysis of the social cognition of the creator of @banggaber, Rizal Fahmi, focuses on the creator's cognition in determining the perspective of analysis in his work. The third level is how social criticism is compared to conditions that exist in society. From the three levels of analysis, data will appear that will be interpreted.

Abstract

This study was to determine the meaning of the message conveyed in the PSI Solidaritas Indonesia advertisement version of "push the car". In this study, the researcher wrote the formulation of the problem, namely, what is the meaning of the message contained in the PSI Solidaritas Indonesia version of the "push the car" advertisement?. The theory that refers to this research is Semiotics proposed by Roland Barthes. This study uses a qualitative approach with surgery using Christian Metz's theory to see the reality described. This study also uses Roland Barthes' semiotic theory to see the hidden or invisible reality in the advertisement. In this study, it was concluded that the PSI advertisement version of "pushing a car" contained a myth that existed in Indonesian society, namely mutual cooperation and the motto Bhineka Tunggal Ika, which means that each one is different, but still one. There is no difference between ethnicity and race in Indonesian society.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the communication patterns and communication barriers of high school teachers to high school students with particular limitations in hearing (deaf). The literature review in this study is the communication patterns and communication patterns of teachers and students. The communication pattern has three directions to understand the application of communication between teachers and students. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, where the source of the data is obtained through interviews with informants or sources. The subjects in this study were two high school teachers, namely Syaiful as the homeroom teacher for class 12 and Bambang as the homeroom teacher for class 10, and two high school students of Dharma Wanita Inclusive School in Sidoarjo named Nasya and Imam. Data collection techniques by observation and interviews. The technique used in this research is qualitative analysis, namely qualitative data obtained from informant interviews and observations, which will provide an overview of the teacher-student communication process. The conclusion of the study, the teachers and high school students at Dharma Wanita Inclusive School in Sidoarjo have applied Linear, Primary, and secondary communication patterns as well as two-way and multidirectional communication patterns of teachers and students in communicating with their students. Meanwhile, in terms of communication barriers, it can be concluded that teachers and high school students at Dharma Wanita Inclusive School in Sidoarjo often experience socio-cultural, prejudice, environmental, and semantic obstacles in communicating with students but can overcome them.

Abstract

Research on Appointment of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama as The BUMN commissioner harassed researchers to examine the issue. Where this study aims to find out how Tempo.co and Detik.com's attitude in constructing news coverage on an issue of the appointment of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama November 13 – November 26 2019 edition. This news contains the polemic of the appointment of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama as a commissioner of SOEs who reap the pros and cons. In this study, researchers used a qualitative framing analysis method modeled by Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki using Media Construction theory.The application of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki framing analysis is divided into 4 structures, namely: Syntax, Script, Thematic, Rhetorical. If viewed syntactically, From the packaging of the news regarding the appointment of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama as a commissioner in BUMN, the two media are indeed very clear in terms of the level of sources. Scripturally, both of them contain several news items that are not accompanied by a complete 5W+1H element. Both media thematically and rhetorically also have differences in delivery to the reader. Tempo.co online media tends to put the contra's statement Basuki Tjahaja Purnama at the beginning of the news or in the middle of the news, then denied by the pro Basuki Tjahaja Purnama. This is done by including repetition of information from previously uploaded news. Detik.com contains only one source statement in one news.

Abstract

In the world of education, teachers and students are involved in the communication process. The communication process can occur in the classroom or outside the classroom. Combining learning methods with effective communication patterns is needed so that knowledge can be accepted and understood by students. The research entitled Effectiveness of Communication Between Teachers and Students in Group Learning Nusa Oktave Orchestra SMA NU 1 Gresik was motivated by the researcher's curiosity about the effectiveness of communication between teachers and students in learning in groups. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of communication between teachers and students in learning in groups. This research is a type of qualitative-descriptive research, the researcher conducts interviews with key informants and informants. This study refers to Lasswell's theory combined with the s-r (stimulus-response) model. To measure the effectiveness of communication, the researcher used the communication effectiveness indicators of Stewart L. Tubbs and Sylvia Moss, namely understanding, pleasure, influencing, social relations and action. Through research that has been carried out by researchers, communication between teachers and students in group learning Nusa Oktav Orchestra SMA NU 1 Gresik is effective. Both teachers and students can understand each other's material, have fun in the activity, can have a good influence, and students develop and learn according to the expectations and directions of the teacher.
