NEOLOGIA: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia is a peer-reviewed scientific open access journal, with e-ISSN 2829-9612 and p-ISSN 2087-2496. It has been published by the Department of Indonesian Language and Literature, Faculty of Language and Literature, Universitas Negeri Makassar. NEOLOGIA is published since 2010. NEOLOGIA is issued semiannually: in February and Auguts. NEOLOGIA publishes manuscripts on research in linguistics and literature. NEOLOGIA features research novelties and significance for scientific advancement in one of the fields of the published manuscripts. This journal welcomes submissions from around the world as well as from Indonesia. Manuscripts published include but are not limited to the following. Linguistics; phonology, morphology, syntax, discourse analysis, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, and critical discourse analysis. Literature: local literature studies, Indonesian literature, foreign literature studies, children literature, literature studies for character education, and other literary studies. The editorial board would like to receive manuscripts submitted via the online submission system. Make sure that the manuscripts meet the scope and submission guidelines of the journal. Abstract

This study aims to describe aspects of Javanese mysticism in the “Anjing-Anjing Menyerbu Kuburan” short story by Kuntowijoyo. This research uses qualitative method and descriptive approach. These aspects of mysticism are described with the five characteristics of the magical realism of Wendy B. Fariz's perspective, such as irreducible element, the phenomenal world, unsettling doubt, merging realms, and the disruptions of time, space and identity. The results showed that Javanese mysticism’s manifested in the form of pesugihan as a shortcut to achieve the wealth; and various magical objects, characters, and events. The socio-cultural background of the Javanese people, especially regarding to economic condition, also causes this practice of pesugihan.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the cultural aspects of Mahfud Ikhwan's novel Ulid. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The results of research in the novel Ulid by Mahfud Ikhwan show that there are various situations that describe postmodernist behavior which is more dominated by the nature of irony found in situations such as natural disasters, the economy and things that are contrary to feelings. The next aspect is Camp's behavior which is described in the form of deception of appearance, attitude, objects and characteristics. Pastiche is expressed through situations related to the character's behavior and expectations in the past. Eclecticism is depicted in the form of a combination of objects, language and food. The parody aspect is expressed in the form of an expression of feelings of satisfaction, displeasure and discomfort.
