A novel series of azetidinone, imidazolidinone and tetrazole incorporating quinazolin-4(3H)-ones were synthesized and evaluated their antimicrobial activity in this research. Anthranilic acid as a simple molecule under acylation with benzoyl chloride yielded 2-benzamidobenzoic acid [1] followed by cyclization reaction of compound [1] with acetic anhydride yielded 2-phenyl-4H-benzo[3,1]oxazin-4-one [2] that treatment with ethyl glycinate yielded 2-phenyl-3-(ethyl acetate)-quinazolin-4(3H)-one [3] as a starting compound. Compound [3] was reacted with hydrazine hydrate to gave 2-phenyl-3-acetohydrazide-quinazolin-4(3H)-one [4]. aroyl hydrazone derivatives [5-9] prepared by reacted of compound [4] with different substitution aromatic aldehydes. Then compounds [5-9] was cyclization under three pathways with chloro acetyl chloride, 2-amino acetic acid and sodium azide to gave azetidinone derivatives [10-14], imidazolidinone derivatives [15-19] and tetrazole derivatives [20-24] respectively. Moreover the chemical structure of synthesized compounds were identified via different techniques such as FTIR,1H-NMR,and13C-NMR and some of its physical properties were measured. Also we have evaluated the effect of some prepared compounds against four types of bacterial and fungal strain. The result showed significant actions for this compound as antimicrobial agents. Keywords: Quinazolin-4(3H)-one, Schiff base, Azetidine, Imidazolidine, tetrazole, Anti-microbial.

Obesity is a global public health issue and the prevalence of obesity is growing worldwide every year. Studies have been performed since the early 1970s on the association between obesity and depression or other psychological disorders. In Indonesia, however, only a small number of studies have been carried out. The aim of this study was to examine whether obesity was associated with depression in a sample of women with overweight and obesity based on their BMI, anti-obesity treatment experience, and age among women in one province in Indonesia. Women aged 18 years and older who were selected from fitness centers in urban area of Yogyakarta province and self-reported BMI categorized as overweight and obese were eligible to participate. Voluntary participation in study survey was consented. A set of questionnaire consisting demographic characteristics and depression symptoms was developed and validated. Depression was assessed by the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), with a score of ≥10 used to indicate severe depression. Respondents who classified as overweight mostly had minimal depression level (33.58%) and none had severe depression level, whereas respondents who classified as obese mostly had moderate depression level (44.74%) and 3.95% had severe depression level. This study found that BMI, experience of using anti-obesity drugs, and age of respondents were significantly affected PHQ-9 score. Thus, these factors determined the level of depression among women surveyed. The study reported significant association between obesity and depression among women. This association depends on BMI, anti-obesity treatment experience, and age variables. Approaches to public health to reduce the burden of obesity or depression have to consider the strong link between these two common conditions.

Aims: The aim of this study was to assess facial attractiveness and to check if the numeric facial analysis can determine this attractiveness for a sample of Iraqi adults' females and characterize the studied sample according to subjective concepts of facial esthetics in esthetically pleasant, esthetically acceptable and esthetically unpleasant, considering frontal photographs. Subjects and Methods: Forty frontal standardized photograph of females aged between 20 and 22 years old. The frontal photograph and lateral photograph were obtained by asking each female to look to the center of the lens and at a distant mirror respectively which is placed in front of her face. All the frontal photographs were evaluated by using our own esthetics criteria (orthodontist evaluation) as graduation in: pleasant, acceptable and not pleasant. The numeric facial analysis was then performed. Linear, proportional and angular measurements were compared among groups. Results: The sample was consisted of 25% of unpleasant, 55% of acceptable and 20% of pleasant according to subjective analysis. In most measurements there were no differences among groups. Just in one linear measurement (sn-U1 FILS) significant statistical difference was observed. Group III has higher right and a left symmetry angel despite it has lower facial symmetry Conclusions: In the evaluation of facial measurements, it was observed that there were statistically non-significant except for the sn-U1 FILS, which is statistically significant. The photographic evaluations require more than one evaluator in different specialties to give more reliable judgment. The facial analysis influenced by, age, gender, cultural and racial factors. Keywords: Attractiveness, Facial esthetics, Facial analysis.

Unavailability of drug in appropriate amounts on apt time at the desired site of action can lead to further complications in the diseases which can turn into more deadly condition. Timely delivery of right amount of drug is very crucial in proper therapy, thereby avoiding the adverse effects of the drug. Feedback regulated closed loop delivery system can controllably deliver the drug on demand which means the release rates can be increased, decreased or totally stopped, as a response towards physiochemical response produced by the body. The system can be designed in such a way that the concentration of the drug released from the system is proportional to the degree of stimuli produced by the body. Various diseases and disorders progress by feedback loop mechanisms, owing to which biochemical signal triggered delivery of drug can be achieved in such conditions. The system is also advantageous in case of some drugs whose fluctuation in plasma concentrations is unenviable. In the current work, self-regulated drug delivery devices designed for various conditions like diabetes mellitus, hypercoagulation, cancer, microbial infections and opioid poisoning are reviewed. Various combinations of smart polymers are employed to design such devices that work by responding to the feedback produced by the body.

Objectives: To screen medical personnel of four hospitals at Salah Al-Din governorate for MRSA, and to compare between the classical method and PCR method for detection of Staphylococcus aureus and MRSA. Materials and Methods: A total of 279 nasal swabs were taken from medical personnel of four hospitals in Salah al-Din (Salah Al-Din General Hospital, Tikrit Teaching Hospital, Samarra General Hospital and Baiji General Hospital). Staphylococcus aureus isolates diagnosed by both classical methods based on morphology, coagulase test, DNase test and mannitol salt agar fermentation, and by PCR by detection of femA gene .The isolates diagnosed as MRSA using classical method by its sensitivity to Cefoxitin in disc diffusion method and by detection of mecA gene with PCR. Results: The results showed that out of the 279 swabs taken from the medical staff of four hospitals in Salah al-Din, 88 were isolated as S. aureus (31.5%) using the classical method used in the hospitals of the governorate under study, and 58 (65.9 %) of them were methicillin resistant S. aureus using the Cefoxitin antibiotic method. However, the PCR results showed that only 57 isolates (20.4%) were diagnosed as S. aureus and that the number of isolates of S. aureus that possessed the mecA gene was only 24 isolates (42.1%) from the total isolates. Conclusion: The classical methods used in most Iraqi hospitals are not accurate in diagnosing S. aureus isolates and MRSA isolates, since 31 (35.2 %) isolates of the 88 isolates were misdiagnosed as S. aureus by the classical method. Furthermore, 34 (58.6 %) isolates of S. aureus were misdiagnosed as MRSA by the classical disc diffusion method. Keywords: MSRA, Nasal carriage, Meca.
