Abstract

In the study of  survival analysis, Kaplan–Meier (KM) estimates of survival curves and Cox proportional hazard models were widely used to describe survival trends and identify significant prognostic factors. All these statistical analyses deal with only one type of event like death, independently of its cause. Most part of the analysis are all  based on the hazards. In a competing risks setting, There are two types of hazard namely, the cause-specific hazard and the sub distribution hazard. The cause-specific hazard is the instantaneous risk of progression to a specific type of event, conditionally on being at risk for experiencing that event, generally hazards are not the probabilities, they are the rates., and used to quantify the probability of the crude risk or cause-specific cumulative incidence to progress to a specific cause by time t, When estimating the cause-specific hazard, the individuals experienced a competing event leaving behind the risk set. The cause-specific regression model was applied on to the real data sets and  try to shed light on causal mechanisms and prediction at the population level.

Abstract

The thiosemicarbazide (TSC) and thionicotinamide (TNA) were immobilized onto silica extracted from RH (rice husk) using 3-chloropropyltriethoxysilane (CPTES) forming solid organic-inorganic hybrid compounds labeled as RHACTSC and RHACTNA, respectively. The   BET data of the new compounds reported that the surface area for RHACTSC and RHACTNA to be 240 m2g-1 and 153 m2g-1 with an average pore diameter of 4.63 nm and 5.25 nm, respectively. The analysis of CHNS and FT-IR spectra revealed that the thiosemicarbazide and thionicotinamide have successfully incorporated on RHACI. The amorphous nature of RHACTSC and RHATN was investigated using X-ray diffraction technique, while the scanning electron microscope (SEM) technique showed that the surface was smooth with white rocky shape particles. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) of RHACTSC and RHACTNA indicate that the disappearance of  physical adsorb water between 25- 217 °C, while at 588°C the residual parts of materials were decomposed. Keywords   Rice husk ash; thiosemicarbazide ; thionicotinamide; organic-inorganic hybrid ; surface area.

Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to systematically investigate some of the important physicochemical properties of Etodolac loaded nanoparticles. Etodolac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, is used to manage rheumatoid arthritis associated symptoms. Almost all drugs are marketed as tablets, capsules or both. Prior to the development of these major dosage forms, it is essential that pertain fundamental physical and chemical properties of the drug molecule and other divided properties of the drug powder are determined. This information decides many of the subsequent events and approaches in formation development. A modified release nanoparticle of Etodolac was prepared by solvent evaporation method using EUTRAGIT RS 100 as coating material. Hence along with selection of excipients, the preformulation study of drug Etodolac is completed for successful formulation of modified release nanoparticles. Preformulation studies included solubility, pKa, dissolution, melting point, assay development, stability in Solution, stability in solid state; microscopy, bulk density, flow properties, excipients compatibility, entrapment efficiency and release profile of nanoparticles were investigated. The experimental values and results of this study will be presented. Keywords: Nanoparticles, Entrapment efficiency, Etodolac, EUTRAGIT RS 100, Preformulation.

Abstract

Human's insufficient information of its role that naturally played for the water cycle in nature (hydrologic cycle) and the set of these treats and performances are as main factors to divulge source of economic, environmental and social challenges at the different communities. Lack of appropriate use and comprehensive management of water resources in the catchments were caused that was made imbalance at the water balance in catchments and aquifers. In this regard, for implementing the integrated water resources management in the Jahanb in catchment and to avoid the negative performance and balance of Shahrekord plain, to protect and continuing of aquifer life and sustainable exploitation from it, this project was implemented at the Jahanbin catchment for two years. To analyze the situation of water resources in the future by predicting five scenarios from the method of water balance equation and using software Modflow, behavior and reaction of Shahrekord plain aquifer were used. The results indicate that the water balance of aquifer is always negative. Negative performance and reaction of aquifers has caused to be having a subsidence from 1976-1977to2013-2014that is 14.9 m. According to the conditions of 2013-2014, the results show that a subsidence in groundwater level will be in the short term (5-year in 2018) and the medium term (12-year in 2025) 17.8 and 43.4 m, respectively and the most of area tube wells will be dryin long-term (20-year in 2033). It should be noted that if a specific program was not carried out to manage water resources, it caused that catchment subsidence and finished the stored water of aquifer off.To prevent events as the subsidence, drying up wells, and unemployment of people and prevent the migration of residents, it needs to adhere to optimize water use and integrated water resources management in catchment by executive ruling and precise and intelligent control of water extractions in the Jahanbin catchment. Keywords: Jahanbin catchment and Shahrekord plain, Various scenarios, Sustainable and integrated water resources management, Water balance.

Abstract

The present study was conducted to investigate the protective effects of erythropoietin (EPO) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) against cyclophosphamide (CP)-induced hepatotoxicity. Thirty six male albino rats were divided into six equal groups. The first group (control). The 2nd group was injected with a single dose of EPO (3000 IU/Kg, i.p.). The 3rd group was injected with PRP extract (150 µl/Rat, s.c.) on days (0,5 and 10). The 4th group was injected with a single dose of CP (150 mg/Kg, i.p.). The 5th group was injected with (EPO+CP) and the 6th group was injected with (PRP+CP). At the end of the experiment (day 15) sera were collected for assessment of liver function enzymes (AST, ALT and ALP) and protein levels (total protein, albumin and globulin). The CP-induced hepatotoxicity was evidenced by increased serum AST, ALT, and ALP accompanied by reduction in the levels of total protein, albumin and globulin in the serum. Administration of EPO or PRP significantly reduced the liver toxicity. The results revealed that EPO and PRP have ameliorative effect against CP-induced hepatotoxicity in male albino rats. Keywords:  Cyclophosphamide, Erythropoietin, Platelet-Rich Plasma, Hepatotoxicity
