Abstract

Abstract: The present study describes the application of Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment Water Quality Index (CCME WQI) for for twenty-one stations along the Al-Gharraf River from  Kut Dam when the river branching from Tigris to its end in the northern of Nassiria city. Sixteen water quality parameters under investigation were as follows: WT (9–33°C), pH (6.51–8.25), NTU (11–157), EC (700–1652 μS/cm), TDS (448–1057.23 mg/l), TSS (23–194 mg/l), DO (3.42–10.8 mg/l), BOD5 (0.79–9.07 mg/l), TH (218–689 mg/l), CL (87–381.3 mg/l), SO4 (111.8–469 mg/l), NO3 (3.01–33 mg/l), PO4 (0.107–0.964 mg/l), Pb (0.007–0.242 ppm), FC (180–97000 cfu/100ml) and CHL-a (0.033–9.534 mg/l). were used during the period from December, 2016 to November, 2017.Based on the results of this application, the general surface water quality in the Al-Gharraf River is found to be not suitable for use as drinking water without elaborate treatment, poor for aquatic life protection and fair for irrigation. Keywords: CCME WQI, GIS , Water quality, Al-Gharraf River.

Abstract

Quisqualis indica L. has been used in traditional medicine for treatment many diseases .Q.  indica containing many of secondary metabolite products like tannins, flavonoids, steroids, carbohydrates, protein, amino acids, saponins and phenolic compounds .The leaves of plant Q.  indica L. were collected from AL-Musaeeb city , for  phytochemical screening we used ethanolic extract of plant leaves with  standard methods of phytochemical tests .In microscopically study of Q.  indica leaves both fresh and dried as finely powdered . Determination of the components of leaves was observed under microscope. The microscopical examination results were referred to anomocytic type of stomata at upper and lower surface of leaves. Unicellular UN branched covering of trichomes with fibers, Calcium oxalate with starch grain and stone cells were presented. The GC-MS analyses of hexane extract of leaves were carried out identification of Methyl palmitate 10.4%, Methyl linolate 8.6%, Trans – squalene 5.1%, Tetratetracontane 7.1% and Heptacosane-1-chloro 7.9%. Phytochemically, Iraqi plant contains tannins, flavonoids, terpene, coumarin and saponins, while alkaloid, steroids may be absent or present as a minor constituent. Which indicates that the Iraqi plant have some medicinal properties. Keywords: Quisqualis indica, Phytochemical study, GC/MS analysis, Pharmacognostical study.

Abstract

The basic motivation promotes economic growth and promotes industrialization and modernization of the country, which is human factors, is the human resource of training and comprehensive development. The human being is motivated, as the target of development, is the factor that decides every victory. The total medical manpower of the province now has not yet responded to the prevention and examination, healing for the people, missing many postgraduate officers, especially majors in the field of treatment so the quality of the examination, healing throughout the system is gaining effectiveness yet high. Because of the lack of doctors at all times, the quality of examination and treatment for the people has many limitations, especially in medical terms, and is causing overload in treatment facilities in the province. In Soc Trang province (Vietnam), there have been a number of projects investing in the construction of private polyclinics that have been invested in construction and start. On the basis of the difficulties and obstacles mentioned above, to develop a human resource that meets the requirement of disease examination and prevention for the people. As a result, the study evaluated the status of healthcare officers in the period of 2013-2017 and building the orientation of the human resource development in Soc Trang province (Vietnam) to the year 2025 is essential. Keywords: Healthcare, Orientation, Human resource, Development, Soc Trang, Vietnam.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate Pseudomonas aeruginosa that cause surface and core tonsils from patients suffering from acute or chronic tonsillitis. A total of 130 samples represented by 100 sample from surface tonsillitis and 30 sample from core tonsillitis after tonsillectomy were referred to Al-sader medical city and Al-Hakim general hospital in Al-Najaf province (Ear, Nose and Throat unit), within period from September 2016 to February 2017.These patients ranged from 2-60 years .A (70) of them were males .A( 60 )were females. The result indicated , 25 from all surface tonsillitis were  pseudomonas aeruginosa ,but not present this bacteria in core tonsillitis .Genetic ,study some genes encoding to virulence factors and responsible for pathogenesis to Pseudomonas aeruginosa by using PCR and electrophoresis. The results indicated ,all P. aeruginosa isolate contain AlgD , RpoS gene that responsible for polysaccharide (alginate) and alpha factor in RNA polysaccharide and responsible for encoding many virulence factor respectively and present high percentage from PsIA ,PelA gene from P. aeruginosa isolate that encoding to biofilm formation .
