Abstract

The present study was conducted on six healthy male’s hedgehog, to distinguish the normal histology of the abdomen skin. The hedgehogs were anesthetized by ketamine (15 mg/kg. body weight) injected intramuscular after scarfing of hedgehogs, the skinning of the ventral surface of the abdomen was carried out, then the skin specimens fixed in the formalin (10%). Routein histological processes were done. The histological structure of the hedgehog abdomen skin was revealed many invaginations of the skin folds projected from superficial surface; these folds had many bifurcation were divided by grooves, and the folds appeared as the ridges. The abdomen skins of hedgehog covered by keratinized squamous epithelium, the keratin layer consider as protective layer foe the superficial skin which represented the epidermis. Under lining the epithelium there was loose connective tissue that supported the superficial skin; and consisted of collagenous and elastic fibers as well as cellular elements such as fibroblasts, lymphocytes, myoid cells were distributed among collagen and elastic fibers which extended into the cores of the abdomen skin folds. Beneath the loose connective tissue, the dermal spines follicles were found and surrounded via a layer of smooth muscle fibers. Clusters of sweat glands were distributed deeply under the dermal spines follicles. Striated muscle fibers below the sweat glands. The striated muscle fibers were arranged; circular, longitudinal and oblique in the orientation, these muscle fibers which support the upper layer of the skin. The dermal papillae was absent in the hedgehog skin. Keywords: (hedgehog, Histology, Abdomen skin).

Abstract

Contaminated eggs are the major reservoirs for many foodborne pathogens and their ability to produce toxins causing diseases or even death in human. One of the essential quality characteristics of eggs is hygienic quality, lack of good hygienic practices, which may lead to loss the quality and deterioration of eggs. This study was focused on fresh chicken eggs to determine the prevalence and level of contamination in process as well as risk of antibacterial resistance of isolated bacteria. The level of contamination of table eggs with pathogenic bacteria and the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) were examined. Total numbers of 72 fresh chicken eggs were collected from eight flocks including conveyer belt and storage eggs from two large scale poultry layer farms in Erbil. The total bacteria on its eggshell was counted, bacterial loads were ranged between 5.174-5.854 log cfu/ eggshell. Bacteria isolated colonies subculture on Macconkey agar and gram negative baccilli were inoculated on VITEK® 2 ID-GNB (identification-Gram-negative bacilli) and antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST)-GN69 cards. The bacterial pathogenic contamination ratio was 22.2% Staphylococcus and 22.2% enterobacteriaceae mostly (E-coli 11%). Whereas no bacteria were found in polls egg contents. The highest resistance rate was detected against Cefazolin, Amoicillin, Trimethoprim/ Sulfamethoxzol, Nitrofurantoin, Ciprofloxacin, Levofloxacin. The high sensitivity rate was recorded against Piperacillin/Tazobactam, Imipenem, Ertapenem, Gentamycin, Tobramycin, Cefipime, Cefitraxone. The results of this study conclude that the bacterial load on egg shells and contents were at the accepted level while the isolation of pathogenic bacteria due to lack of hygiene practice should be considered, also we suggest that the farmer must fumigate the fresh eggs with a good hygienic practice before marketing.

Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of a complex of factors that determine consumer behavior in a pharmacy for visitors of an older age group (elderly people over 65). The main problems in providing pharmaceutical care to elderly consumers in the local pharmaceutical market of a large metropolis (for example, Moscow) are identified. Positive and negative factors of consumer loyalty of elderly customers of Moscow pharmacies are indicated. The purpose of the study was to formulate a comprehensive socio-psychological portrait of an elderly consumer receiving pharmaceutical assistance in pharmacies in Moscow. In order to achieve this goal, a study of the behavior of visitors to pharmacies over 65 years of age, their sociological surveys, as well as a survey of pharmacy managers and employees to identify positive and negative factors that affect the consumer behavior of the studied focus group of customers, were conducted. A sociological survey of visitors to Moscow pharmacies and a survey of managers and employees of pharmacies revealed the positive and negative factors of consumer behavior of elderly consumers and identified the main problems encountered in pharmacies in the provision of pharmaceutical care for this category of patients. A comparative analysis of Russian and world experience in serving elderly visitors in pharmacies was carried out. The necessity of studying the behavior of consumers of older adult focus groups is proved in order to improve the quality of pharmaceutical and psychological care. Elderly clients (over 65) account for 40-65% of visitors to Moscow pharmacies. The consumer behavior of the studied category of patients is characterized by pronounced polypharmacy, the need for advisory services and psychological assistance, the need for communication, a significant lack of information about the assortment, the interaction of drugs, their correct use, and storage. The psychological and medical problems in most elderly patients complicate the process of providing them with timely and high-quality medical care; require the use of a special psychotherapeutic approach in the work of pharmacy employees, and the introduction of a specific “client-oriented pharmaceutical advising”.Keywords: Elderly patients; Elderly consumers; Older adults; Polypharmacy; Pharmaceutical assistance; Pharmacy organizations; Socio-psychological portrait; Client-oriented pharmaceutical advising.
