Abstract

The church, which is a place of reconciliation for social life, should be able to pay attention to its people, in addition to serving the people with liturgical services, the word of God, and the sacraments, the church should also pay attention to pastoral care. In pastoral care, the Church provides assistance, which is referred to as "pastoral counseling" services, therefore the Church is expected to be able to answer the challenges of life faced by its people in daily life, as well as in family life. Problems will always exist, and may lead to divorce. Divorce that occurs in the midst of the people except for adultery is the negligence of the Church which pays little attention to its people. In completing this paper, the author uses qualitative research methods and literature studies, where the conclusion is Pastoral Counseling is a bridge in solving problems that exist in the midst of the family supported by prayer and hope for the common good.

Abstract

Mentoring is an essential method in Pastoral Care Service. Unfortunately, the mentoring method is often neglected by counselors in mentoring services. As a result, the meeting between counselors and counselee didn’t lead the counselee to the expected change. This Journal is a literature study and field research on cognitive-behavioral mentoring methods for fathers who rarely attend church on Sunday at HKBP Pearaja, Tarutung. In this journal, the author critics the importance of reviewing the mentoring method in providing assistance to fathers who attend church rarely. Furthermore, the author tried to show that the cognitive–behavioral mentoring method equip the fathers to be a priesthood, role model, and teacher in Christian families. In addition, through the cognitive-behavioral method, the church can equip the fathers to bring spiritual growth to a better way. With this paper, the author also offers a contextual approach to seek cognitive-behavioral mentoring methods for fathers

Abstract

Grief is a human reaction to defend one self when faced with loss events such as death, separation, or the loss of something valueable that affects aspects of human life holistically.The level of human sadnessis influenced by the value of the lost object, the emotional connection with the lost object, the period of loss of the object, the form of the lost object, the number of lost object, the level of anticipation of loss and the social support system. This studi aims to determine the level of sadness experieirnced by the client (PS) due to the loss of a father due to an accident in the village X Balige. Greaf experienced by the client, including prolonged grief. Seventeen year ago until now, she had not been able to manage has grief, her conditions was unstable. Therefore, the author conducts research and help through assistance, so that mourners healing, realize and acceptance.

Abstract

Budaya Batak Toba dikenal sebagai salah satu budaya yang memiliki pelbagai adat istiadat serta beberapa tatanan sosial yang dihidupi masyarakat Batak itu sendiri. Salah satu hal yang terdapat di ruang lingkup budaya Batak Toba ialah perihal menjamu atau menerima tamu. Dalam bahasa Batak disebut sebagai paramak so balunon. Konsep paramak so balunon menjadi lensa yang dipakai dalam membaca teks Lukas 10:38-42. Dalam ilmu tafsir, maka metode seperti ini disebut metode tafsir seeing through. Melalui tafsir seeing through diharpkan kedua teks (teks budaya dan teks Alkitab) dapat memberikan makna dari pembacaan teks tersebut. Lebih lanjut, tulisan ini akan memaparkan upaya-upaya yang dihasilkan dari konsep paramak so balunon dalam membaca kisah Maria dan Marta.

Abstract

Mission and diakonia are two things but unity which is integrated within a church body. A church not as a church if it doesn’t do mission and diakonia. Diakonia is a mission in action. To do diakonia it means to be ready to witness about God’s love. The existence of the church is to proclaim the Good News to the poor; to heal the sick and brokenhearted; freedom to the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free and to create serenity to the people in hardship, injustice, and the victim of violence, sex abuse and other difficult circumstances. Proclaiming of the church through diakonia services by using hands, feet, eyes, noses, mouths, ears, heart and all part of the church body. Preach the Gospel it’s not only from the pulpit but go in to amid of people in need and do diakonia services.
