Balale merupakan istilah dari bahasa Dayak Kanayatn dan Melayu Sambas serta Melayu Mempawah, yang memiliki arti kegiatan gotong royong dalam suatu pekerjaan secara bergilir, khususnya pada aktifitas perladangan sejak menentukan lokasi berladang hingga panen. Balale adalah tata nilai kehidupan sosial yang mewujud dalam kebersamaan, komunikasi, egaliter, bentuk ekspresi dan aktualisasi diri maupun komunal (integrasi sosial). Jurnal Balale memiliki harapan yang senada dengan falsafah tradisi Balale, menjadi sarana komunikasi, bertinteraksi, dan bersama-sama dalam mengembangkan ilmu pengetahuan. Focus dan scope jurnal Balale pada kajian sosial dan budaya dalam perfektif Antropologi. Balale menerbitkan hasil penelitian berupa artikel etnografi, kajian terapan bidang antropologi, analisis teori dan metodologi bidang antropologi maupun ilmu sosial, dan resensi pada buku-buku antropologi. Balale Jurnal Antropologi adalah Jurnal yang diulas oleh pakar pada bidangnya. Balale: Jurnal Antropologi diterbitkan oleh program Studi Antropologi, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Tanjungpura, terbit 2 kali dalam setahun yakni pada Mei dan November.

Abstract

This research describes Instagram Stories which have become a modern lifestyle for students at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Tanjungpura University, Pontianak who are active users of Instagram stories. The type of research used in this research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection used in this research was participant observation, distribution of questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The theory used in this research is Jean Baudrillard's theory of hyperreality, which holds that there is no more reality because in this case what is real is no longer a reference or thing seen by many people. The results of this research show that students when using Instagram carry out the three phases of hyperreality theory to show their self-image through Instagram Stories. Reflecting reality is done by imitating what has been seen from other people's Instagram Stories and then sharing it on Instagram Stories, covering up or misleading reality is done by showing something different on Instagram stories to the actual situation that happened, and covering up absences in reality is done by sharing Instagram A story that seems to be a reality which in reality is used to cover up nothingness.

Abstract

This research is about the traditional kerokan treatment method for ethnic Malays in Kubu Raya Regency. This research aims to find out and analyze people's reasons for choosing the kerokan treatment method nowadays because people still believe in the legacy of their ancestors which has many benefits, looking at the origin of the treatment method focused on the Malay ethnic group, originating from the spread of Javanese ethnicity to Pontianak, knowing the tools and The materials used to carry out the kerokan method for ethnic Malays are very simple, cheap and easy to find, such as using coins, spoons and oil as a lubricant to avoid irritation. The research used a qualitative study which was carried out by asking informants directly and observing them involved. This study uses ethnomedicine as a study paradigm. The results of this research are that traditional medicine, which is still widely used today, has many benefits for the body and tools and materials that are easy to find with just coins and oil so that anyone can use the kerokan treatment method. Catching a cold is understood as a state of illness or an unhealthy body, while kerokan is an attempt to recover.

Abstract

This article focuses on the phenomenon of traditional medicine in Madurese society, especially local diseases. The disease, which local people call Jumplang Tanah disease, prefers and trusts traditional medicine carried out by shamans. This article has explained the causes and treatment system for Jumplang Tanah disease and analyzed the beliefs of the Madurese people of Sungai Segak village regarding the treatment of Jumplang Tanah disease. This research uses the Health Belief Model theory with six contracts contained in it, namely perceived Susceptibility, Perceived Severity, Perceived Benefits, Perceived Barriers, Cues to Action, and Health Motivation. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques obtained through the process of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this paper provide an understanding of the knowledge and belief systems of the Sungai Segak village community. This cannot be separated from the knowledge passed down from previous Madurese elders, and its existence is still trusted and maintained by the community to this day.

Abstract

Hijab styles and models come in various variations. The hijab, not only as a cover for the private parts but has also emerged as a form of self-expression. Muslim women who wear trendy hijabs are called hijabers. Following the hijab fashion trend that is currently happening through social media, influencers, and the surrounding environment, causes an increase in the cost of living for hijabers among students at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Tanjungpura University, which is due to the increase in purchasing power to follow the hijab trend. This research aims to describe and analyze the hijabers lifestyle among students at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Tanjungpura University using ethnographic qualitative research. The use of consumer behavior lifestyle theory according to Philip Kotler and Gary Armstrong is used to analyze the results of research on consumer behavior lifestyle based on motivation and resource factors. This study found that there are various styles and styles of hijab that are influenced by social media and trends, increasing the cost of living.

Abstract

The Panyai house in the Mualang Dayak tribe is a traditional house of the Dayak tribe in Kalimantan, especially in West Kalimantan. The Panyai House is not only a physical building where the Mualang Dayak people live but is also the building at the heart of the social structure of life. The methodology used in this study is a comparative study and is supported by a literature method in the form of literature that focuses on the theme of this research. In this study, it was found that in the Rumah Panyai tradition of the Dayak Mualang tribe, the ethical values of living together are a strong foundation for establishing harmony and community sustainability. There are several noble values contained in it, namely the values of cooperation, togetherness, respect, and solidarity which are an inseparable part of life in the panyai house. The local wisdom values in the panyai house tradition can guide the development of a more sustainable and responsible life towards nature.
