Abstract

This study aimed to examine the Indonesia capital market reaction to the NorthKorean missile launching. The type of this research is an event study by using themarket model estimation to estimate the expected return. This research used 100days as the estimated period and 9 days as the windows period. The sample of thisresearch consisted of 76 companies listed in the Index Kompas 100. The result shewthat the stock price did not react negatively toward North Korean missile launching.In this research, the emergence of disturbing events at t+3 and t+4 that North Koreasucceded in testing hydrogen bomb disturb the events observed by the author. At t+3 and t+4, the stock price react negatively and significantly. The result of thisresearch supported the Signaling theory that the information about a countrysparticular events such as information about North Koreas succes in testing ahydrogen bomb was interpreted as a negative signal (bad news)

Abstract

This study aimed to investigated the influence of consumers perceptions on store atmosphere toward impulse buying and shopping emotion pleasure. This study also investigated the mediating role of shopping emotion pleasure. By using accidental sampling technique, this study took 100 consumers of Mirota Babarsari Yogyakarta who were at least 17 years old. The data were obtained by using a structured questionnaires and analyzed by using Path Analysis via Regression. The results indicated that consumers perceptions on store atmosphere affected impulse buying, consumers perceptions on store atmosphere affected shopping emotion pleasure and shopping emotion pleasure fully mediated the relation between consumers perceptions on store atmosphere and impulse buying.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the impulsive buying tendency at college students from five universities in Yogyakarta and to discover the difference on the impulsive buying tendency at college students from five universities in Yogyakarta according to their family background including their parents status and occupations. This research used 100 respondents as the subject of this research. The data collection technique used in this research is Sampling Incidental technique. The instrument tests used in this research are validity and reliability test. The analysis technique used in this research is Independent Sample T-Test. The result of this research shows that the impulsive buying tendency at college students from five universities in Yogyakarta, based on their parents status, there is no different impulsive buying tendency between those who raised in two-parents family and single-parent family. Meanwhile, based on the parents occupations background, there is different impulsive buying tendency between those whose parentsoccupation is civil servant and those whose are not

Abstract

Turnover is a painful issue in the organizations, in the world of tough competition the organizations try to minimize their turnover ratio and save their cost, turnover cost consists of hiring, recruiting and selecting the employees. The study aimed to find out the influence of satisfaction of RS Emanuels nurse on the direct compensation, indirect compensation, job, and environment work toward turnover intention. The data were collected from 100 respondents of 220 nurses by using a structure questionnaire. By using multiple linier Regression, this study revealed that the employees satisfaction on direct compensation, indirect compensation, job, and environment work affected simultaneously and partially turnover intention.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of political connections on firm performance, especially a non financial institutions. The sample in this study is a non-listed financial institutions in Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2010-2012, amounting to 304 companies. The dependent variable in this study is the ROE and Tobins'q. While the independent variable in this study is the proportion of independent directors who are politically connected and the proportion of managerial ownership has political relations, company size and type of company. The hypothesis was tested by multiple linear regression. From the tests, it was found the proportion of independent directors who have political ties have a negative effect on the financial performance of the company, while the proportion of managerial ownership has political ties have a negative effect on market performance.
