Abstract

Weaning is the process of stopping breastfeeding gradually or all at once. The weaning process is recommended around the age of 2 years on the grounds that breastfeeding for more than 2 years has reduced nutrition. The research aims to identify the relationship between weaning age and the nutritional status of 2-year-old toddlers This research is a descriptive-analytic study, while the research design is cross-sectional. The data were taken from the data form of mothers and children who visited the integrated health service in the village, Pos Pelayanan Terpadu (Posyandu) Melati, Pasirian Village, Lumajang which was held on August 9, 2022, with a total population of 50 toddlers, the sample studied was 50 toddlers (Total Sampling). The data in this study were analyzed by univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square Tests with a value obtained p=0.000, which means that there is a relationship between weaning age and the nutritional status of toddlers aged 2 years at Posyandu Melati, Pasirian Village, Lumajang Regency. So improper weaning results in low nutritional intake received by children aged 2 years. Likewise, children who have started to be weaned must pay special attention so that the nutrition that the child gets is sufficient.

Abstract

Health education is an important issue that needs attention from all parties. The problem women often face regarding reproductive health is vaginal discharge. Leucorrhea is discharge or discharge from the vagina that is not blood. Leucorrhea is normal and abnormal. Normal vaginal discharge is characterized by a clear to whitish color, odorless and itchy, while abnormal vaginal discharge is characterized by a yellow to greenish color, smells, and causes itching. This study aims to analyze the effect of Health Education on the level of knowledge of young women about vaginal discharge. The research design used the pre-experimental method with one group pretest and post-test design. The sampling technique used is total sampling. The number of samples in this study was 40 adolescents. Data were collected using questionnaires and then analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Based on the Wilcoxon test analysis results, the p-value was 0.001. The conclusion of this study showed that there was an effect of health education on the level of knowledge of young women about vaginal discharge (fluor albus). Health workers are expected to evaluate and conduct early education for young women regarding vaginal discharge (fluor albus) to prevent abnormal vaginal discharge (pathological fluor albus) so that they can improve the quality of health, especially in reproductive health.

Abstract

The prevalence of emotional and behavioral disorders in preschool children is relatively high. One factor influencing children's emotional development is the mother's age during pregnancy. This study aimed to determine the relationship between maternal pregnancy at a young age and the emotional development of children aged 3-5 years. This study used a cross-sectional survey approach. The research subjects were all pregnant women and comprised 64 respondents, taken by simple random sampling. The independent variable is the emotional development of children aged 3-5 years as measured using the SDQ questionnaire. The dependent variable, namely the mother's age, was measured using a questionnaire. Data collection included coding, editing, data entry, and tabulation, then analyzed using a computer with chi-square. Of the 64 respondents studied, 54 respondents (84.4%) were pregnant women aged <20 years and experienced abnormal child emotional development, and 52 respondents (81.3%). The correlation test results between the mother's age during pregnancy and the child's emotional development obtained a coefficient of 0.565 with a significance value of 0.001. It can be concluded that a relationship exists between maternal pregnancy at a young age and the emotional development of children aged 3-5 years. Suggestions for adolescents, families, and health workers not to get married before the age of 20 so that there are no disturbances in the emotional development of children aged 3-5 years.

Abstract

The development of health resources in Indonesia today is still marked by the vulnerability to the health status of mothers and children, especially the problem of the still high maternal and infant mortality rates. The causes of maternal death are divided into direct deaths and indirect deaths. One of the causes of maternal death is Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED). The role of nutritional adequacy is very vital, starting from the first trimester of pregnancy to the first thousand days of life. CED in pregnant women can affect the growth process of the fetus and can cause miscarriage. In this study, the researchers aimed to identify a relationship between CED and abortion. This study used a correlation design with a retrospective approach, with a total population of 24 pregnant women with a sample of 24 women who had experienced abortions. The results of the data analysis showed that 66.7% of abortion mothers had CED. the results of the Fisher's Exact Test statistical test obtained a significant degree of the p-value (0.000) < α (0.05) then H1 accepted and H0 rejected, which means that there is a relationship between chronic energy deficiency in pregnant women and the incidence of abortion at the Klenang Kidul Banyuanyar Probolinggo Health Center in 2021-2022. Health workers are expected to carry out prevention efforts by checking the nutritional status of pregnant women regularly and providing knowledge about balanced nutritional needs.

Abstract

Hypertension in pregnancy is a pregnancy complication and is one of the three highest causes of mortality and morbidity. Deep breathing relaxation therapy can increase oxygen saturation, improve oxygenation in the blood, and create a relaxed state in the body. This study aims to analyze the effect of breathing relaxation techniques on changes in blood pressure of pregnant women with preeclampsia at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Polyclinic, Tongas Hospital, Probolinggo Regency. This study used a one-group pre-post test design (pre-experimental) using a cross-sectional study approach with 30 respondents using an accidental sampling technique. Data collection includes coding, editing, and tabulating, then analyzed manually and by computer with the Paired T-Test. Based on data from 30 respondents, the majority of pregnant women's blood pressure before being given a breathing relaxation technique experienced moderate blood pressure as many as 15 respondents (50%), while the blood pressure of pregnant women after being given a breathing relaxation technique experienced mild hypertension was 0.19 respondents (63, 3 %). obtained P Value: 0.000 and a = 0.05, meaning r <a, so that H0 is rejected, and Ha is accepted, and there is an influence of the breathing relaxation technique on changes in blood pressure of pre-eclampsia pregnant women at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Polyclinic, Tongas Hospital, Probolinggo Regency. Respiratory relaxation therapy can be done independently, is relatively easy to do compared to other non-pharmacological therapies, does not take long in therapy, and can reduce the side effects of pharmacological therapy. for pregnant women with hypertension.

Abstract

Foot edema or swelling is found in about 80% of pregnant women in the third trimester; it occurs due to uterine pressure which inhibits venous return, and the pull of gravity which causes greater fluid retention. The incidence of edema at the Nagrak Health Center, Cianjur Regency, in May 2021 was 20.9%. Management of foot edema can be done in a non-pharmacological way, one of which is a foot massage and warm footbath with mixed with kencur (Kaempferia galanga) aromatic. The objective was to determine the effect of foot massage and warm footbaths with kencur aromatic on foot edema among pregnant women at the Nagrak Health Center, Cianjur Regency. This research was a quasi-experimental study using one group pretest and posttest design. The sample was 20 respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The instrument was the SOP and the pitting scale observation sheet. The data normality test using the Shapiro Wilk found that the data were not normally distributed, so the data analysis used the Wilcoxon test. The results were average degree of foot edema before the intervention was 3+ and the average after the intervention was 1+. Based on the Wilcoxon test, the result of the 2-tailed sign with p-value=0.000 (p<0.05), then statistically there was a significant reduction of foot edema between before and after foot massage and warm footbath with kencur aromatic performed among third-trimester pregnant women. The conclusion was that there was an effect of foot massage and a warm footbath with kencur aromatic on foot edema among pregnant women at the Nagrak Health Center, Cianjur Regency. The suggestion is expected that pregnant women and health workers can practice foot massage and warm foot baths with kencur aromatic to reduce foot edema.

Abstract

In developing countries, including Indonesia, vertical hepatitis B virus transmission still plays an essential role in spreading the hepatitis B virus. The first step in preventing vertical transmission is knowing the HBsAg status of pregnant women. The HBsAg screening method for pregnant women using a rapid test was carried out by the Hepatitis B Early Detection Activity (DDHB) for pregnant women at the Puskesmas and its network. In order to break the chain of hepatitis B transmission from mother to baby, health workers play an essential role in this, especially midwives. Because midwives are health workers closest to pregnant women, all pregnant women are expected to have their HBsAg status checked to know whether they have hepatitis B disease or not. This study aims to determine the relationship between the factors of pregnant women and the incidence of positive HBsAg where the characteristics include age, occupation, parity, environment, number of sex partners, history of blood transfusion, and history of hepatitis B immunization in the Taktakan district of Serang City, Banten. This study used an observational study with a case-control approach, and the case sampling technique was purposive sampling. The sample of this study was 80 pregnant women, with a total of 40 people from the case group and 40 people from the control group with a ratio of 1: 1. The research instrument consisted of a pregnant woman's early detection questionnaire at each pregnant woman's blood sampling. This questionnaire is in the Ministry of Health's program. In this study, it was found that there was a relationship between the characteristics of pregnant women based on the environment, the number of sex partners, and a history of hepatitis B immunization with the incidence of positive HBsSg in the Taktakan District, Serang City (Sig value > 0.05). As for the other variables in this study, there was no relationship between the characteristics of pregnant women based on age, occupation, parity, and history of blood transfusion with the incidence of positive HBsAg in the Taktakan District, Serang City (Sig value < 0.05). There is a relationship between the characteristics of pregnant women based on the environment, the number of sex partners, and a history of hepatitis B immunization with the incidence of positive HBsAg in the Kecamatan Taktakan, Serang City. Researchers hope that further research can continue with more diverse variables and samples.

Abstract

Most women experience severe pain problems during menstruation, usually called dysmenorrhea. Yoga practice can reduce body, mind, and psychic tension, reduce pain, and release endorphins to increase the response of the parasympathetic nerves which causes vasodilation of blood vessels throughout the body and uterus, and increases uterine blood flow thereby reducing the intensity of dysmenorrhea. This study aimed to determine the effect of yoga practice on reducing menstrual pain intensity (dysmenorrhea) in adolescent girls. This study used a literature review design using 3 databases, namely PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar. The results showed that in the study, the exercises used were yoga with a percentage of 100% using yoga practice interventions. Yoga practice was done within 30-60 minutes per session with a period of 1-3 times a week. Menstrual pain in adolescents who were given yoga practice in the journal experienced a decrease in pain intensity with p = 0.05. Yoga can stimulate the body to release endorphins and enkephalins, inhibiting pain. Yoga is performed by relaxing the endometrial muscles when contractions and ischemia occur due to increased prostaglandin levels, which will cause vasodilation of blood vessels and cause blood flow to experience spasms and spasms ischemia and then reduce pain. Yoga will change the pattern of pain acceptance towards calming the body and will gradually recover from pain disorders. Yoga practice can be an alternative to reduce the intensity of menstrual pain in adolescent girls.
