Abstract

The rapid expansion of big data, Internet of Things (IoT) systems, and artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed the conditions under which privacy and personal data protection operate. In the algorithmic age, privacy is increasingly challenged not only as an individual right but also as a structural condition of socio-technical systems. This article examines whether privacy is merely adapting to technological change or undergoing a deeper paradigmatic transformation. Focusing on Türkiye’s Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK No. 6698) in comparison with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the study investigates the changing legal and operational foundations of personal data protection, particularly the declining centrality of explicit consent and the growing role of broader governance mechanisms. Methodologically, the article adopts a qualitative multi-method design combining comparative legal analysis, doctrinal examination, and a socio-technical case study of six smart city applications in Türkiye. The findings reveal a gap between formal regulatory alignment and substantively effective protection, especially in smart city systems characterized by ambient data collection, system interoperability, and limited user contestability. The study concludes that privacy is being restructured from an individual consent-based model toward a more systemic governance condition. Accordingly, sustainable privacy protection requires integrated legal, technical, and societal governance mechanisms.

Abstract

This journal research was conducted with the primary objective of developing a system capable of visualizing the route and distance from SMK Raden Umar Said Kudus to various boarding houses located within Kudus Regency. The increasing number of students enrolling in the school, including those from outside the region, has created a growing need for accessible information regarding temporary accommodation near the school. Therefore, the proposed system is designed to assist students in identifying suitable boarding houses by providing geographic visualization of their locations and distances from the school. To achieve this objective, the system utilizes the Leaflet library as the main mapping tool to visualize geographic information in an interactive web based environment. Leaflet enables the display of maps, routes, and distance calculations in a user friendly format, making it easier for users to understand spatial relationships between the school and nearby boarding houses. The system itself is developed using PHP as the primary programming language. In addition, JavaScript is integrated with the Leaflet library to handle map interactions and geographic data visualization. The Waterfall development model was chosen as the system development methodology due to its clear and sequential. Through this approach, the research aims to produce a functional Geographic Information System that helps students efficiently locate temporary housing during their study period at SMK Raden Umar Said Kudus while also providing useful information for boarding house owners.

Abstract

This study aims to design and implement a Web-Based Warehouse Information System with Barcodes at CV. Bulu Utama Tobacco. The background of this study stems from the problems faced by the company, namely the manual recording of stock items. This method often causes problems such as the risk of recording errors (human error), delays in reporting, and difficulties in real-time tracking of goods. The literature review refers to previous studies on web-based inventory information systems, barcode systems, and warehouse management. The results of the study show that the implementation of a barcode-based system has been proven to improve accuracy, efficiency, and transparency in inventory management, although previous studies were limited to manual web-based recording without barcode integration. The research method used was a qualitative approach with a case study at CV. Bulu Utama Tobacco. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The system was developed using the UML modeling method (Use Case, Activity Diagram, and Flowchart) and implemented with web technology (PHP/Python, MySQL, and Barcode Scanner). Testing was conducted using Black Box Testing to ensure the functionality of the system.The results showed that the system was able to automatically record incoming and outgoing goods through barcodes, generate real-time stock reports, and reduce manual recording errors. The discussion confirmed that this information system not only improved operational efficiency but also provided strategic benefits in supporting management decision-making.

Abstract

This study discusses the implementation of the Metasploit Framework on the Android platform within a single network. The objective of this research is to analyze the vulnerability of Android devices to backdoor attacks using penetration testing tools. The payload in the form of an APK file was created using msfvenom and tested on Android devices within a local network. The results showed successful exploitation, including access to SMS, call logs, and device location. This study highlights the need for security awareness among Android users and the importance of preventive measures.

Abstract

In today's age of technology, web applications have become essential parts of the environment. Due to easy accessibility of the internet, the user can engage in actions without considering the possible impact, leading individuals and organizations to commit such actions freely. As a result, there has been an upsurge in cyber-attacks against web applications that are prone to attacks. Mitigation is achieved using static code analysis with SonarQube in order to detect vulnerabilities within the web application code. In this case, the aim is to contribute to developers through the recommendation on how to develop their web applications while considering security aspects. SSDLC is utilized to manage the web application used during the simulation of the cyber-attacks and mitigation of the impacts thereof. Results are reported as comparisons made before and after mitigation. Before implementation of mitigation measures, the web application was vulnerable to all simulated cyber-attacks. After implementation of mitigation measures, it became clear from analyses that the attack had no way of exploiting the secured vulnerabilities.
