Abstract

The green synthesis of nanoparticles using plant extracts offers a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to conventional chemical methods that often involve toxic reagents and high energy consumption. In this study, iron oxide nanoparticles (FeNPs) were synthesized using aqueous leaf extract of Phyllanthus amarus, a medicinal plant known for its rich phytochemical content. The biosynthesized FeNPs (PaFeNPs) were characterized using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), UV-Vis and Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy to confirm their formation, functionalization, and elemental composition. Phytochemical screening of the leaf extract revealed the presence of key biomolecules such as flavonoids, terpenoids, saponins, proteins, carbohydrates, and reducing sugars, which played critical roles in the reduction and stabilization of the nanoparticles. The photocatalytic efficiency of the synthesized PaFeNPs was evaluated by degrading crystal violet (CV) dye under both ultraviolet (UV) light and dark conditions. Under UV exposure, significant dye degradation was observed, attributed to the generation of hydroxyl and superoxide radicals, while in the dark, dye removal was primarily due to adsorption. The color change from purple to nearly colorless confirmed effective CV removal in both conditions. These findings demonstrate that P. amarus-mediated FeNPs possess excellent photocatalytic and adsorptive properties, highlighting their potential application in environmental remediation. This study not only confirms the feasibility of using Phyllanthus amarus for the green synthesis of FeNPs but also suggests their potential for wastewater treatment applications, thereby contributing to sustainable nanotechnology and environmental protection.

Abstract

Training agents is an intriguing research topic due to human limitations in maintaining consistent performance, particularly in the game Flappy Bird. This study compares action selection methods, namely Softmax and Upper Confidence Bound (UCB), to enhance agent performance in action selection. Testing was conducted using both methods in a Flappy Bird environment based on Gymnasium. Evaluation was performed using metrics such as average score, highest score, average steps, and Q-value. The final results indicate that Softmax tends to explore early in training but achieves convergence toward the end, whereas UCB tends to exploit early, leading to stagnant scores. Based on t-test results, no significant difference was found in the performance of the two action selection methods. This study provides guidance on selecting action selection methods for agents in simple games.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis penerapan pendekatan deep learning dalam pembelajaran bentuk aljabar berbasis konteks kehidupan nyata siswa kelas VII SMP. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif berbasis praktik reflektif, dengan subjek sebanyak 128 siswa di SMP Negeri 2 Sentolo. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui asesmen diagnostik, observasi kelas, lembar kerja siswa, jurnal refleksi, dan wawancara informal. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan pendekatan triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan deep learning secara signifikan meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual siswa terhadap bentuk aljabar, yang ditandai dengan peningkatan persentase siswa dengan pemahaman tinggi dari 24% menjadi 72%. Siswa mampu menyusun ekspresi aljabar dari situasi nyata, menggunakan berbagai bentuk representasi, serta memahami makna simbol matematis dalam konteks yang relevan. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan pada keterlibatan belajar, kesadaran metakognitif, dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran aljabar berbasis deep learning efektif dalam membentuk pemahaman yang mendalam, kontekstual, dan inklusif, serta mendorong berkembangnya kompetensi berpikir tingkat tinggi pada siswa.
