Abstract

This research aims to: (1) analyze the level of member participation in the RAT, the payment of mandatory savings, and the utilization of services provided by Koptan and KUD, (2) analyze factors that influence the level of member participation.  The research is conducted with descriptive method.  Research locations specified in the three districts with the highest number of Koptan and KUD as well as dominant rice production centers in Lampung Province. They are Central Lampung, East Lampung, and South Lampung.  From each district is taken two Koptan and two KUD purposively. The sample size of farmer is 50 members of Koptan and 47 members of KUD. Member participation levels are analyzed descriptively and the factors which influence them are analyzed by multiple linear regression model. The member participation level in the RAT is high. Household income affects the Koptan member participation in the RAT negatively, while the cooperative economic benefit has a positive effect. The experiences as cooperative member and the number of dependents negatively affect KUD member participation in the RAT, while the cooperative economic benefit, non-formal education, and member satisfaction in the RAT have a positive effect. The member participation level in paying mandatory savings is moderate.  Age negatively affects Koptan member participation in paying mandatory savings, while the experiences as cooperative member and cooperative economic benefit have a positive effect.  Age positively affects KUD member participation in paying mandatory savings, while the distance from home to KUD has a negative effect. The member participation level in service utilization is low.  Number of dependents and SHU positively affect Koptan member participation in utilizing business units, while the number of cooperation has a negative effect.  The distance from home to KUD, SHU, and the suitability of the business unit positively affect KUD member participation in utilizing business units, while the number of business units has a negative influence. Keywords : member participation, koptan, KUD

Abstract

Corn is food plant which has important rule in contributing food for human and livestock.  This research aims to analyse the factors which Influence Corn Production and condition economic scale of of corn farming.  This research was conducted in Jatiagung subdistrict  on May-September 2007.  Analyse method of it used Statistic analysis method of double regression with Cobb-douglas production fuction.  The result of this research indicates the factors which Influence Corn Production are length of land farming , KCL fertilizer, organic fertilizer labor and factors which do not Influence corn production are seed, urea fertilizer, TSP fertilizer and the desire of farmers take the risk of corn farming.    Elasticity of corn farming in the research area is 1,17 . It means that it is increasing return to scale.  It indicates that additional of production factors will cause bigger production additional. . Key Words: Production, Economic return to scale, cobb douglas, production elasticity

Abstract

Floriculture has high commercial value and it is interested by many people. Floryculture bussiness grows fastly and it is very needed by people especially in big cities. Developing integrated masterplan system of web based floriculture is one of alternatives using computer technology to simplify operation of successfully decorated plant.  To develop integrated master plan system of web based floriculture, it is firstly done necessity analysis process of that system by identifying of necessity through usecase, event, and things. Abstract

This research attempts to investigate empirically the impact of intellectual capital measured by value creation efficiency of intellectual capital and capital employed on profitability measured by ROA. This research uses financial and capital market data of 120 banks listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2004 to 2008. Empirical analysis is conducted using multiple linear regression. Findings from empirical analysis indicate that value creation efficiency of capital employed and human capital have a positive impact on ROA; value creation efficiency of structural capital has a negative impact on ROA Key words: intellectual capital, ROA, bank, Indonesia Stock Exchange

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to know partisipants perception of the training development of livestock agribusiness towards training materials and training benefits. Training was held on 22-25 July 2009 with 30 respondents of all the training participants. The data analyzed by: 1) descriptive analyze, and 2) Spearman Rank Correlation to determine the relationship of variables x and y in an ordinal scale. The results showed that participants of the training have a positive perception of the training materials and training benefits. Abstract

This research aims to: (1) analyze the role of farmer cooperation/Koptan and KUD in increasing member income, (2) analyze the role of farmer cooperation/Koptan and KUD in improving the member welfare.  The research is done by using descriptive method.  The research location is determined in three districts of largest food production which have the most number of farmer cooperation/Koptan and KUD in Lampung Province. They are located in Central Lampung, South Lampung, and East Lampung.  Each district is taken two farmer cooperations and two KUD purposively.  Sample of farmers member from each farmer cooperation/Koptan and KUD  is determined by five people.  For comparison, the sample of non-member farmers in the farmer cooperation/Koptan or KUD region is also five people.  Therefore all of the samples are 60 members of farmer cooperation /KUD and 60 non-members of Koptan/KUD.  farmer cooperation and KUD role in increasing member income is analyzed by calculating the contribution of economic benefits on household income. farmer cooperation/Koptan and KUD role in improving the member welfare is analyzed by the poverty line criteria according to BPS, followed by One Way Anova.  Farmer cooperation/Koptan and KUD have a role in increasing the income of its members, although it is not so large.  This is demonstrated by the contribution of net economic benefits of member  income obtained by farmer cooperation/Koptan  or KUD members.   The welfare level of farmer cooperation/Koptan and KUD members is higher than the welfare level of non-members of farmer cooperation/Koptan and KUD.  Koptan and KUD have a role in improving the welfare of its members. the role of farmer cooperation/Koptan is greater than KUD.   Keywords: role, farmer cooperation/Koptan and KUD, member welfare

Abstract

Farmer empowerment model aims to empower communities through the application of appropriate technology in agriculture, livestock waste, institutional strengthening of farmer groups and farmers' organization run by a dynamic management. Empowerment model is implemented through three stages as applied to the corn farmer empowerment (Zakaria, W.A ., et al. 2009) institutional strengthening of farmer group stage, Phase Combined Institutional Strengthening of Farmers Group and Phase competitiveness. Problems that hinder the progress of farmers' groups has been the poor quality of Human Resources (HR) on the knowledge and skills in agriculture, yet the application of appropriate technology in agriculture, livestock waste has not been exploited, a group of farmers who are still weak institutional, organizational management group of farmers has not walked well. The purposes of this activity are (1) Establishing a strong institutional breeders group, (2) Form a group of farmers in a dynamic and orderly administration, (3) The group has a predetermined location of the secretariat in consultation, (4) Members and administrators capable of managing livestock farming camping effective and efficient, (5) members and the administrators group are able to use agricultural waste to be made into animal feed, (6) The utilization of livestock waste into organic fertilizer. Indicators of success of this activity are (1) Strengthening the institutional group (2) The formation of farmer groups are dynamic and orderly administration, (3) Ability to make cattle feed with ingredients that are available around the group, (4) Ability to make organic fertilizer from waste livestock, (5) It has been a location of the secretariat of the group. The method of participatory approaches used in participatory rural apprisal. The results showed that the activity of these activities has given good results in the formation of farmer groups are dynamic, there is increased knowledge and skills of people in goat farming, appropriate technology transfer and utilization of agricultural waste has been done carefully, accurately and efficiently.Key words:  Farmer empowerment, livestock group,  goat farming.

Abstract

Keberhasilan dalam belajar bahasa Inggris dipergaruhi oleh berbagai variable, salah satu diantaranya adalah motivasi. Motivasi belajar bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa ke dua (second language) dikelompokkan menjadi beberapa jenis yaitu motivasi integrative (integrative motivation) dan motivasi instrumental (instrumental motivation). Beberapa ahli pengajaran bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa asing (forein langauge) juga membedakan motivasi menjadi dua jenis yaitu motivasi dari dalam (intrinsic motivation) dan motivasi dari luar (extrinsic motivation). Tulisan ini membahasan jenis-jenis motivasi serta bagaimana peranan motivasi tersebut mempengaruhi keberhasilan mahasiswa (langauge learner) dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Tulisan ini merupakan studi literatur yang bertujuan untuk memcahkan masalah mahasiswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris khususnya motivasi yang dilakukan di Politeknik Negeri Lampung. Hasil studi menunjukan bahwa motivasi dari dalam diri dan motivasi instrumental sangatlah mempengaruhi kesusksesan dalam belajar bahasa. Kata kunci:  Motivation, language learning
