Abstract

The low percentage fruit set will impact on the percentage of fruit to bunch and weight of Bunch. Fruit set islow causing the formation of partenokarpi fruit/coat so that the harvest process is involved in loading, carryingand processing. To solve the problem, the management of post-harvest Bunis is necessary. Comparing the "V"(conventional) stem cutting, which is often referred to as the “Cangkem Kodok” (CK) as it is usually applied inthe plantation and the treatment of bunches (stalk) and base of bunches/stalks that have no fruit/ brondolancalled a “Cangkem Buaya" (CB). This research was conducted on oil palm plantation year 2015 planting in thePlantation of Bah Birung Ulu PTP. Nusantara IV. Five Month research time, namely in February-June year2019. This research uses a descriptive analysis method that is the primary data retrieval analyzed with Analysisof Variance (ANOVA) and then conducted advanced test using the smallest real difference (BNT) at 5% as wellas correlation of several parameters Observation. The results showed that the weight of the stem garbage wastewith a higher CB treatment compared with CK treatment and with the treatment of CB can save the garbagethat does not fit, transport and sports per bunch in Afdeling 1 by 5.59%, Afdeling 2 8.02% and Afdeling 37.63%. With the treatment of stem cutting and base of the fruit bunching (Brondolan) or called the treatment ofcrocodile hoe can increase the percentage of Fruit to a bunch average of 6%. The oil extraction were 27%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the color of crude palm oil in the Marjandi estate with an altitude of800 meters above sea level with a comparison of raw fruit, ripe and over ripe and the stability colorof crude palm oil. The results of the analysis of raw fruit at an altitude of 800 m dpl have the lowestcolor compared to other levels of maturity that is equal to 1.1 (red) and 11 (yellow), and maturefruits have the highest colors 1.7 (red) and 17 (yellow). The decline occurred in ripe fruit in theamount of 1.3 (red) and 13 (yellow) with a percentage decrease of 10%. And the results of theanalysis of crude palm oil at an altitude of 800 masl lower than the average value of 400 - 600 masl,which has a value of 3 for red and 30 for yellow. The better color stability of crude palm oil is thatthe yellow color is lower than the red color

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of oil palm fronds addition as a mixture to the mechanicalproperties of bricks in terms of porosity testing, and compressive strength, and to determine theproper percentage of oil palm frond additions. This research is a type of experiment with arandomized block design (RBD) arranged non-factorial and the data is processed using the SPSS 20Tukey test program. This study used a brick-shaped sample with a length of 19 cm, a width of 9.5 cmand a height of 4.5 cm. Variations in the composition of the added oil palm fronds are 0%, 5%, 10%,15%, and 20%. Parameter mechanical properties of bricks included porosity, and compressivestrength tests. The addition of oil palm fronds with a composition percentage of 0% to 10% affectedthe mechanical properties of the bricks by reducing porosity and increasing the compressive strengthof the bricks. Based on the test results obtained by each of the best test values, namely the minimumporosity value achieved in the percentage of oil palm fronds as much as 10%, which is 18.4%. Theoptimum compressive strength value is achieved on the percentage of oil palm fronds as much as 10%which is equal to 20.5 N / mm²

Abstract

Growth population were very fast and caused demand to the energy increasingly while fuel ingredients fossilthinning out. The needed of energy alternative sources as energy biomass among them briquettes charcoal. Inanother, there are some potential biomass sources, one of that is empty bunch of oil pam. Briquettes charcoalfrom oil palm empty bunch could be an alternative to resolve limitations source power energy and at once asalternative. The material which used in this study were oil palm empty bunch and hyacinth mumps. Adhesivesare used is tapioca. The method used is press hydraulic with pressure Felts 0, 8 tons levels 10% adhesive.Charcoal processing used a modified drum. Charcoal obtained then pounded and then made ingredients traybriquettes charcoal. Briquettes charcoal made from 5 variations composition ingredients oil palm empty bunchand water hyacinth were 100%, 75 %: 25%, 50%: 50%, 25%: 75% with adhesive concentration 10% with adiameter of 2.15cm and 5.5 cm. The results of this study that best briquettes is TEG-1 treatment (100% bunchesblank with 10% adhesive produces) with value heat 5896 cal / g, water content 2.81%, content ash 20 %.

Abstract

Physical damage to fruit on oil palm fresh fruit bunches due to harvest and postharvest activities include injuredfruit mesocarp, fruit weight loss, and loss in fruit bunches. One of the postharvest handling that can maintainthe physical quality of the fruit is by giving gibberellins (GA3). This research aims to determine the effect of theconcentration of gibberellins (GA3) whit application time before harvest on the physical quality of postharvestoil palm fresh fruit bunches. The research was conducted at Afdeling VI Garden Cot Girek PT. PerkebunanNusantara I and in the Cot Girek Palm Oil Factory laboratory. The time of the research was conducted in Juneuntil July 2019. The study used a non factorial randomized block design method with 4 treatment levels (0 mg/l,50 mg/l, 100 mg/l, and 150 mg/l) with 3 replications. The administration of gibberellins has a significant effecton fruit loss and fruit weight reduction with the best concentration og gibberellins is 50 ppm but does not havea significant efffect on pH, moisture content, and fruit free fatty acids.
