Abstract

In Desa Tumbang Randang, a significant number of children struggled to distinguish and correctly color pictures or sketches. Recognizing coloring as a crucial skill for kindergarten children, a Community Engagement (PkM) initiative was launched. This program aimed to enhance children's coloring abilities, focusing on image texture sensitivity, finger adaptation, sensory awareness, and vocabulary expansion through the introduction of colors and image types. The research assessed children's development before and after participating in guided coloring activities. Initial observations noted that some children were rarely involved in such activities. The project's dream was to enable children to competently apply color combinations. During the design phase, mentors physically guided the children's hands, teaching them to color within boundaries. The define phase involved observing each child's color combination skills and their ability to express these on paper. This initiative, running from August 7 to 11, 2023, also aimed to benefit parents, locals, and village officials. It was conducted by IAKN Palangka Raya students through a cross-program educational approach. The results indicated improvements in the children's abilities to color pictures, compare and combine colors, and articulate color names using colored pencils. Additionally, the children exhibited increased independence and self-confidence, as evidenced by their artwork displayed on walls, celebrating their creative achievements.

Abstract

The "Scaffolding Digital Storytelling" training program has undergone a comprehensive evaluation using a rigorous mixed-methods methodology, which includes both quantitative and qualitative assessments. The program demonstrated significant effectiveness in improving participants' comprehension and abilities in digital storytelling and scaffolding. An analysis of assessments conducted before and after training, with the use of statistical tests, revealed a noteworthy enhancement in knowledge and abilities within the experimental group. This underscores the success of the program. The qualitative findings provided more clarity on the participants' experiences, highlighting their active involvement, contentment, and effective incorporation of digital storytelling into their teaching methods. The program's favorable impact on pedagogical techniques was evidenced through observations, surveys, and analysis of lesson plans. The program's revolutionary power was further validated by notable success stories, such as those of HM, LF, and EB, which demonstrated its adaptability across different degrees of technological expertise. The use of digital storytelling in educational settings, as demonstrated by teachers like Sarah Thompson, RM, PK, and BS, highlights the long-lasting beneficial impacts on student involvement, linguistic aptitude, and analytical thinking abilities. Crucially, the program went beyond just one intervention and encouraged educators to continuously improve and adapt. In conclusion, the "Scaffolding Digital Storytelling" training program proves to be a powerful force for promoting positive transformation in both the skills of the participants and the methods of instruction. The significant influence it has on gaining knowledge, effectively incorporating it into teaching methods, and consistently improving student outcomes make it a powerful resource for enhancing language training using digital storytelling and scaffolding strategies.

Abstract

Pain is a global health issue. It is estimated that every year 20% of the world's population experiences pain and half of this is chronic pain. In Indonesia there has been no large-scale research discussing the prevalence and quality of all types of pain. Indonesia also does not yet have practical parameters for assessing pain, patient comfort levels, and the effect of pain on the quality of life of the Indonesian people. This Community Service (PKM) seeks to provide training and raise information about pain treatment in one of the districts of Bukittinggi, West Sumatera, through socializing and outreach to the community. The strategy employed in this PKM includes counseling about pain management in the community and how to handle it. This PKM obtained an increase in the knowledge and skill of community members in controlling their pain. According to the findings of monitoring and analyzing PKM activities, the community health service was ready to improve people's pain management strategies. It is believed that this activity will be beneficial in enhancing the knowledge and experience of pain management that may be used in the community health service by individuals and their families, particularly in non-pharmacological approaches as complementary pain management nursing.

Abstract

Kalanganyar Village is a village located at the easternmost tip of Sidoarjo Regency, East Java. This village makes a major contribution to the field of aquaculture and processing. However, in the rainy season, this village experiences inundations and even floods in some areas, and during the dry season experiences drought or difficulty getting clean water. Based on this, this Community Service activity aims to help provide solutions by applying Rainwater Harvesting technology. The method used in this activity begins with permits in related agencies, then planning, counseling, practice making rainwater harvesting installations, and evaluations are carried out. With this activity, the Kalanganyar Village Community can make RHT installations independently after this activity, there are no inundations and floods in the rainy season, in the dry season clean water needs are still met, and the Kalanganyar Village community has been able to increase their capacity in dealing with drought to prevent non-natural disasters
